  1. Ok, so how can you get past that in a situation where your other hand is incapacitated? I thought I had a firm enough grip but maybe not, thanks for clairifying.
  2. Took her back for another session. Tried using just one hand and 2 FTF one was a stovepipe and the other was the slide had locked into battery.......lesson learned 2 handed strong grip with a grip safety striker......
  3. Welcome to TGO and thank you for your service!
  4. Does the Win USA Forged come in .45 and is it priced reasonably?
  5. Finally got to shoot my XD .45 Service today: 20 rounds of PMC Gold Starfire 230 grain SFHP, 100 rounds of Remington bulk pack 230 grain JHP, 64 rounds of mixed 230gr. JHP, and 120 rounds of Blazer 230 grain aluminum case......no FTF or FTE at all!....the 3 dot sight picture is ok but at some point Ill have to get either a fiber optic front or maybe a BigDot front sight......the sights are center of mass at 5 yards.
  6. Many moons ago I had the .44MAG version......about as subtle as a sledgehammer but a desirable piece none the less.
  7. How much does it cost to get a NFA pistol, rifle or shotgun? I understand some are more desirable than others.
  8. No sir, she was devoid of any visible lubricant....that has since been fixed.
  9. That's what drew me to it was the grip safety and the way it pointed .....and more importantly how it felt in my hand.
  10. Picked up a XD .45 4 inch service model bi-tone with the 3 dot sights: came with 2 13+1 magazines, hard case with cable lock, and bore brush and a free 20 round box of PMC Gold Starfire .....OTD with tax, background check was $446. I have not had a chance to shoot her yet, pistol is very dry don't know if it had been in storage for awhile or not....I like the fact the Springfield went to the trouble of polishing the feed ramp.
  11. Ok what's the difference between the XD and the XD-M? Is it just the sights?
  12. The local US Money Pawn has a brand new XD .45ACP bi-tone service model (3 dot sights) for $399, MSRP is almost $600 is this a good deal?
  13. I noticed an officer from the Soddy Daisy police department had what appeared to be either a HK or a Sig.
  14. Way way out of my price range at $1147 MSRP, looks interesting. https://www.hudsonmfg.com/product/
  15. Yeah that's my rub about the RIA 7+1 where even a FN 509C, CZ P series and the 2.0 S&W Compact have 12 plus including Glock.
  16. IWB or OWB? I'm 6'3 and 285 with a beer belly, I can't bring a firearm on work property.....I suppose it could be a truck gun, I wish I had never sold my Glock 21.
  17. I am interested in getting my concealed carry but here is the rub, the only handgun I own is a RIA 1911A1 in .45 (full size, weighs about 40 ounces unloaded)....It is barebones (no nite sights or rail) which limits it to home defense, I am looking at a compact 9mm that can perform both CCW and HD. Would I be best served by sticking with a .45ACP or go to 9mm? I have quite a bit of .45 ammo or should I sell it and switch to 9mm? Thanks.
