  1. I like how he has "targets on round"
  2. I can't say for .410 on turkey, but I read the Hatfields are inconsistent in quality. You might hit a few pawn shops and LGS and you can pick up a single shot Savage or Stevens for $100 to $150. Or do like me and get obsessed with the Savage Model 24. It is an over/under rifle shotgun combo. You can carry a .22/.410 all in one. They make the newer model 42 also.
  3. I only like tweed when it is on guitar amps. You don't need as cider press to make hooch. Though you could. I would just stop by the local plumbing supply for 2 water tanks, copper pipe, and fittings after my Cracker Barrel stop.
  4. I have tried several and so far not been 100% happy. I guess the closest so far is a fobus paddle but that does not work for my all my guns. My spare tire gets in the way of a lot of holsters. I dont love the idea of pocket carry though. I have a lot in my pockets normally and digging it out from even an empty pocket does not seem like as quick affair. I keep trying styles. Hopefully I find one. The newest Fobus I have for my M&P 2.0 .45 is nice with the release button. Not sure I could conceal it anywhere it was vaguely hot though. That being said, I do not carry daily because of places I am in and out of. Maybe if did I would get used to one.
  5. Is the ATF worried about gun brands now? Is the next survey to see what breeds of dogs they shoot the most.
  6. Can't really call where I shoot a range, but it a paved lot back in a hollow. Makes for privacy though. Ran up there at lunch a couple weeks ago. Been too busy since. Not bad for me since it was only the first or second time with each gun. Right to left is a CZ P-09, EAA Windicator (using .38), and a S&W M&P 2.0 .45.
  7. A trip-on-open alarm is the weakest type. Yes they avoided it that way, but there should be a glass break alarm and motion detection in the shop as a secondary coverage. In this case the glass break failed, but it is understandable. Usually they only pick up on theives breaking the glass cases. Stiffer measures are usually not in place due to cost pure and simple. Maybe deciding security the same way other business related decisions are decided, is not the best. Most shops of any kind do it that way though. Same thing with video cams. Lots of places have the cheapest one Sam's or another retailer carries. Cheap, but like watching a 1940's movie through fogged up glass. I really hope you guys catch these guys. Good Luck.
  8. These guys were the usual stupid thieves. A pair of channel locks will snap a storefront style door lock mechanism and you walk right in. I know from experience around buildings being demo'ed. Replace that door and bar all the glass. Or put in a full pull down security gate. Place a decent alarm and security camera system. The expense will be worth it.
  9. Hopefully you guys find out who it is. Probably not going to get the guns back though. Those disappear quick.
  10. I say tearing sone pages out of Guns and Ammo might result in some cool stuff.....
  11. Uh oh, I think we saw this one before
  12. I always wanted to see a gun where you could last ditch load a blank and fire the bayonet off the end of the barrel. LOL My Enfield would work well as a club even after it got sporterized. Sadly, I do not have a bayonet for it.
  13. +1 to what MacGyver said. Great looking rifle.
  14. I bought a Pi back when the v1.0 units came out. Had some plans for it and have done a few things, but life got in the way. With my current job, I travel with a laptop, even on vacation so I don't carry anything else. Plus, I try to keep everyone away from thed internet on vacation. So much so, we sometimes vacation at places with no Wi-Fi and spotty data on purpose.
  15. So who do you use for internet if it is not the cable company? Even better yet, what ared you using the Raspberri Pis for?
  16. Seems to not be able to get to there via the link
  17. I remember seeing info that some of those were 2ga guns. Crazy
  18. That looks like a tank ran over a motorcycle
  19. That is probably 5 months and 29 days more than most kids today. My Dad ran a landscape, tree trimming, acoustical ceiling, handyman business on the side. I was told that was my "job" until I got out of school. Sometimes Dad tossed me a few bucks. I made most of my cash picking up aluminum cans at the drag strip while my parents worked there Saturday nights. I usually got a couple full trash bags even if I crushed the cans. Dad hauled them in for me every few months and kept a few bucks for gas since it was a decent ways to the center. That is how I saved for my first car. Things like that taught me to be resourceful. There is always money to be made, you just have to see it and work for it.
  20. I do tech for a construction company and I know for a fact some of our senior field staff make more than me. It is hard to find guys to fill those positions that want to work and have any experience at all. Lots of our guys are at or nearing retirement. Not sure what we are going to do.
  21. Oooohhh. Ouch. Put some ice on that. Remember - you bleed on it, you buy it...So you got off lucky.
