  1. If I had booked Dubose in the first place, I would have been tempted to beat that smile off his face. How much of an idiot do you have to be to get tattoos done like that if you plan on being an armed robber? I have had thoughts that staking guys like this down in a box full of Dermestid Beetles (the kind they use to clean off trophy skulls) would be a fitting end for them. It would take a while and a colony of 300 beetles runs less than a $100. The box might need to be sound proofed. I am sure there would be some screaming. Of course this would never be allowed to happen because it is not "humane". Neither is what some of these guys do to end up in jail. Humane is reserved for those people and animals that are beyond hope of survival and need to have their suffering ended.
  2. That is on 66 on the way into Sevierville from the I-40 Exit 407. On the left side just before getting into Sevierville.
  3. Crap I should have seen that. Lol
  4. One thing up front. I am not covering a firearm. That is a personal choice based on your permit status and how comfortable you are at having one in the car while you are not with it. I keep one that is probably larger than it should be. Not in weight, just in "over preparedness". I have a 3rd row seat SUV now, so it gets tossed in the cargo area. Mine is mainly aimed at a "Get Home Bag" idea but with the side benefit of being things that are necessary at times in my day-to-day.. I am not that far from home most days (usually about 15-20 miles). I also am able to dress in a way that allows me to be comfortable if I needed to hoof it home in the clothes I have. If you can't in your work attire, include a good set of hiking/work boots or shoes and a change of clothes (including socks!). The area between my workplace and home is a moderately rural area. I am not going to be camping out, fishing, or hunting on my way, so I left that stuff out. If things are bad enough that I need to put the full bag to use, I am moving as fast as I can home. I would only stop if necessary. So I am prepared if I need to hunker down for a bit in the dark or need to rest a bit to get my wind back. I do not relish walking around shining a flashlight to advertise my location if the crap has taken a whirl. If things are really bad, people will be looking for those better prepared to relieve of their supplies and possibly their lives. I am not in the best shape, so I see the possibility of this being a 2-3 day hike based on how I need to go, environmental obstacles, and who I need to avoid. Simplified list of things I have included: Backpack - normal hiking type, not tacticool. Maps of the areas I am routinely in. (I know the way home, but my normal route may be blocked or a less conspicuous route preferred) S.O.S. Rations Emergency 3600 Calorie Food Bar (long shelf life, not hurt by heat, no cooking required) SOS Emergency Water Packets (easier to pack and last longer than a bottle) Water purifying tabs Water purifying straw Aluminum water bottle/canteen Metal cup Boonie hat Hatchet Knife(s) Firestarter/tinder paracord First aid kit Rain cover for backpack Poncho Flashlight(s) ( extra batteries too) Glow sticks (Green and Red) compass Fuel tab stove Solar/crank radio/flashlight combo Gloves Tarp ( to be used as a ground cover or improvised shelter) Toilet paper Small tool kit (screwdriver, crescent wrench, vice grips, etc.) Duct Tape I am sure I have a few more things tossed in there, but I am going by memory. Take a grain of salt with my list. I have seen tons of lists of what you need in your GHB or BOB. You need to decide how elaborate you want it, what aim it has, and how much you want to invest. I tend to be one that carries more than I have to have, be it this bag, or my tool kit at work. Whatever you decide to put it in, it never hurts to be prepared.
  5. While I like watching Hickock45 as much as anyone, I think I threw up a little when I read this.... While whisky is great, due to my past experiences related to when guns and alcohol come together, I thought it best to leave it out. Plus, it causes the need for all kinds of extra permits and licenses.
  6. Had a reason to be over in NC recently and saw this sign. I have heard of gun and knife shows. Guess these 2 go together?????
  7. If his insurance ends up not paying, consult with yours. In TN, your insurance can go back and sue him for damages, so they would be more likely to help you out I think. Also, lots of times if you get sued your insurance will provide a lawyer. Not sure if you need to sue. I learned way more than I wanted to about how this works because of that jerk rear ending me and calling it my fault.
  8. Considering crooks build them with maglites and freeze plugs, no reason we should be jumping through hoops.
  9. Have you claimed this loss and medical costs to the kid's insurance? Also cost of a rental. I had a guy rear end me in SC a few years ago. Witnesses said I pulled over in front if him. Not true, but oh well. My insurance paid him 50k for a broken arm and paid to fix his 90's Grand Am that looked to be falling apart already. Just don't sell your self short. Insurance is there to pay for loss and damages. No reason you should be out because he was not responsible.
  10. Man that must hurt his nuts when it fires...or he hits a pot hole.
  11. Is he sitting ON the gun or is it on the other side? Not sure I want to ride a Vespa across the countryside fighting armored vehicles. Lol
  12. Then she should be concealed carrying a Serbu SuperShorty. Lol In that case if fleeing is not an option and no Serbu is lying around, then make use of you vehicle to shield you and provide endangerment to the BG. If you have insufficient room to flee forwards or backwards, but room to move backwards, open the door and plow it into him in reverse. Cut the wheel to force the front of the car in his direction as you floor it. Remember you have 2000 lbs of vehicle, use it. Like others said if the only option is flooring it into the car ahead of you, do it. Now you have caused a commotion, involved a (hopefully) third party, and damaged the vehicle if that is his goal.
  13. These guys like him are real actors. Before stunt doubles and cgi. They just had to make it happen. Sad to see him go.
  14. ""I told you not to mess around on me. Now run you SOB and hope I miss"
  15. Many years ago I was on a student based trip to England. There were Czech, French, Bellarussian, Polish, and British students there. They were all amazed I even had held a gun. It amazed me after growing up in a hunting family. As everyone has said before people will call for more restrictions and the bad guys will go on ignoring them. More guns is not always the answer, but it is a d@m good start.
  16. Aim surplus shows some used ones.i will let you judge the condition. https://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1CZ75CDT&name=Czech+CZ75+Compact+Steel+Black+Slide+over+Brushed+Nickel+Frame+9mm+Pistol&groupid=8630 https://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1CZ75COMPACT&name=Czech+CZ75+Compact+9mm+Pistol+(Alloy+Frame+Model)&groupid=8630 These are shooter grade: https://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F1CZ75X&name=Shooter+"X+Grade"+CZECH+CZ+75+9mm+Handgun&groupid=8630
  17. Unfortunately, I think the days of somebody selling "just an old gun" at a yard sale for a great price have past unless you are REALLY lucky. Either they have a rusty Rohm .22lr pistol that they want $300 for or they traded in that Luger for a $50 Wal-Mart gift card at the last gun buy back.
  18. Do like all the internet stories. Drop by a yard sale on a back road and find some old grandma selling it for $200. While you are there get the Garand for $75 and the WWII German Luger for $100. If they have any $12 .22 rifles let me know.
  19. I still kick myself that I passed on a 500 foot roll of cannon fuse for little of nothing when I was a kid.
  20. Just been thinking. If Europe relaxes gun ownership restrictions would that increase demand enough to raise gun pricing? I am especially thinking guns like Glock and CZ that are made in Europe. The reason I wonder is would the populace jump to buy guns, or would years of restrictions killing the gun culture keep the demand down? In the longer term though, would it cause more firearm companies to be established in Europe to fill demand and give us some new innovations? Just some random thoughts rattling around inside this empty head of mine.
  21. Always great to see someone work hard and be appreciated.
  22. I grew up with my Dad telling me stories of making black powder bombs out of car parts and restoring a demil'd belt fed 50 cal in his spare time at the machine shop he worked at. I never quite lived up to that.....but I tried. Lol I did not partake in a lot of alcohol back then, maybe that was why. Or maybe his stories taught me to do crazy stuff, but not be Bubba stupid about it.
