  1. I bought one of their pocket holsters for my J Frame at the show because the material was really sticky. I compared it in side by side practice draws to my Uncle Mikes. Ended up staying with my Uncle Mikes since I could get cleaner draws. Not saying the Sticky Holster was bad, just decided to stay with what I had. I'll probably go to the Sticky when my current holster wears out.
  2. Correct, but it does indicate you bought a gun(s). That makes confiscation one step easier for the jackboots if it ever comes to that.

  5. If she's not the type to wear belts you might check out this company. They have some that are almost 6:00 SOB position. http://www.cancanconcealment.com/
  6. Key word there HAD. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes...
  7. I've had several LGS go out of business that I purchased from so that makes their database build go much easier. I'm also not buying the daliy dump of info from background checks. Nope, not buying it. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  8. Either way, no sense rushing into anything... :)
  9.   How is that accomplished without a national gun database where everyone has to register every firearm in their possession?   (Good luck with compliance on that.)   You can't just pass a law saying, "from here forward, you must involve an FFL in any firearms transaction, and that includes handing down of grandpa's gun to his grandson, and have it enforceable.
  10. Cool! Let us know the durability of the coating on the polymer frame. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  11. Is it just me or does this look more like the frame and barrel are based on the Security Six rather than the GP100? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  12. Annual is $35.   6 months is $20.
  13. Haters gotta hate. :) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  14. I've used a RCBS 5-10 scale since the mid 80's. Can't seem to find a real reason I need an electronic scale. I don't load a ton of ammo though. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  15.       Yep, I think Talon is your best option IMO.   I prefer the rubberized versions myself.
  16. This is the way I look at the minor repairs. If the repair is less than a car payment and I expect to extend the life of the car at least one month, I do the repair. Most of the time it extends the life many months so it's a win.
  17.   Is there anything specifically wrong/about to crap out on the truck that's major?  If not, I'd keep on driving and making SMART repairs.   Smart as in no major repairs that cost more than the vehicle is worth.     To me, 200K miles now on a vehicle is the old "100K".  In the 70's/80's a vehicle was pretty much done when it hit 100K.   Now 200-300K is not abnormal if you maintain the vehicle.   I have almost 240K on my Volvo and don't intend on getting rid of it until the repair bill doesn't make sense.      So, you can think of it this way if it makes you feel better, you are getting 2x the vehicle life as you use to.  :)
  18. Nonsense. Old books depicting the good old days will have long since been burned by the State...
  19. I think the future value of a firearm is tied to its historical significance. The WWII FP-45 Liberator has been brought up several times. While it was basically a piece of crap in terms of a firearm that cost $2.10 to make, it gave a invaluable sense of hope to the war resistance fighters. It's hard to tell it things like the Curve will increase in significant value. Maybe so, but my guess is it won't. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  20. Yea, crap like that happens. Maybe you can go to a Python sellers support group. :)
  21. Comms mentioned one holster maker above and there are several others on here. On the lower to mid range commercial end, Galco makes some decent stuff and I have some Don Hume holsters that are nice for the money. On the mid to higher end, DM Bullard and TT Gunleather are worth taking a look at. Milt Sparks is a higher end option. As I mentioned earlier, there are a plethora of good holster makers that others might recommend. There have been numerous threads on here regarding holsters so doing a search should bring in other options. Since you mentioned hiking, I would go with a OWB pancake holster to be more secure so it doesn't move around. One other carry position you might want to consider is crossdraw. It might give you easier access if you have a heavier coat.
  22. But I heard he can declare marshall law... ;)
  23.   Do you prefer leather, kydex, or a hybrid (leather & kydex)?    There are a plethora of good holster makers in each category.    What's your budget?     Do you need a holster that you can attach/detach without taking off your belt?   If so, you'll want a paddle holster.   It is more convenient but not as secure as a pancake holster.    Do you already have a proper gun belt?   With the proper belt you can carry even the heaviest of guns without a problem.
  24. Is there a specific reason you are wanting a shoulder holster? The reason I ask is, you mentioned cold weather and a coat. If the coat is zipped you are going to have a tough time getting to the gun quickly. You may be better served to go with a OWB type so you can just lift up the side of the coat to gain access to the gun.
