  1. It really shouldn't deter anyone from buying it. The Type-1 is rugged and very reliable. I have one, myself, and it's taken a beating over the last 9-years and has shrugged it all off.
  2. @LibertyChief, I am pretty sure that your optic is a Type-1 RMR and not a Type-2. The type 2 has a different battery contact design. This page has more info: https://www.bigtexordnance.com/differences-between-trijicon-rmrs/ Still, an excellent optic.
  3. I had one of these, albeit in the MRD (optic cut) variety. REALLY good gun. If you consider all of the upgrades that Glock owners typically spend extra to get or wish they had, the 509M pretty much has it all out of the box. Good luck with your sale.
  4. Summary Upgrade to January 2024 forum software release. Explanation Invision Community 4.7.15 Released 01/23/2024 Key Changes This is our January maintenance release. https://invisioncommunity.com/release-notes/4715-r127/
  5. These are great guns. I'm back to carrying one of my M&Ps again more often than not. The "full-size" M&P like this one is honestly barely larger than a Glock 19 and quite a bit shorter in length and height than a Glock 17. It's a great way to carry 17rds.
  6. After reading what Kahr Man had to say about using an FFL, if that is the route you are going and it is expressly stated within the Trading Post sale and includes the name of the FFL that is doing the transfer, I don't really have a problem with it.
  7. Sorry... I have been covered up with things outside of TGO lately. What the other guys have said here speaks to my own concerns about this. While TGO wouldn't necessarily be at fault if you were to do something that fell on the wrong side of the law, I would still be hesitant to allow it.
  8. I'd have to figure out a way to force Google Maps or Waze to always include a tunnel in the route. Because my inner child is twelve years old. Thompson Lane - Nashville Murfreesboro Road near the Airport - Nashville
  9. Every single one of my friends who have had one or both knees replaced said that the pain was bad but survivable, and that once they saw the improvement that the surgery had made in their lives, it was all worth it. A buddy of mine just had a single knee replacement a few weeks ago, actually. I asked him on Sunday how he was doing and he said it was the best decision he'd made. He's very early in the process and he still has that confidence because of what his life was like before the surgery. Hope that encourages you!
  10. I would terrorize tunnels every chance I got.
  11. I haven't had it done but I have several friends who have. What you just said is 100% in line with what they've told me.
  12. Ah. Got it. All Glocks look and function alike.
  13. Gaston cut his ex-wife and his sons and daughter with her out of the company back in the early 2000's. It was all the scandalous rage in the firearms community (and business world, I guess) at the time. I'm sure he put in place the necessary mechanisms to keep the company moving ahead, though. Edited to add... A lot of the stories about this seem to be behind news source paywalls. I did find this one that isn't, though, albeit it is a little thin on some of the additional details: Guns, Money And Attempted Murder: Divorce Case Shakes The Glock Firearms Empire - TPM – Talking Points Memo
  14. Trust me, I almost went there except... that post in the middle. I'm morbid but I'm not "Just mash him in there and if it becomes a cookie cutter, so be it" morbid.
  15. If his casket isn't a giant polymer Glock box, he missed a truly fantastic last wish.
  16. @Lumber_Jack did you do it as a trust or as an individual? I've heard that individual approvals are going through pretty quickly these days.
  17. Someone needs to buy this just to make their John McClane Christmas setup complete.
  18. I've got a modern Remington 7600 pump in .30-06 and it's a great rifle for deer hunting. This classic model will be a hoot for someone to own.
  19. @Erik88 I think one of the things that has made me happiest in all seasons of the year is the decision that I made several years ago to unplug from the news. We cancelled our cable TV subscription, went Internet-only, use OTA antennas for local news when the weather is bad, and I try like hell to avoid anything and anyone that wants to fill me in on whatever's happening right now in the world. This has even made Christmas better for me because people know that I'm not the guy to talk politics or pop culture with. If they try to pull me into those things, I remind them that I'm not the guy. I know that may not exactly hit the center of the target for you since the commercialization of Christmas is a current source of pressure for you, and I couldn't exactly trace the DNA of this and how it affects my own enjoyment of the season... but it really has made me a happier guy overall.
  20. I almost expect to see 357Sig making a comeback, similar to what we have seen with 10mm. The terminal ballistics of the round are pretty damn nice.
  21. I have had similar bad luck with Samsung. We stopped buying Samsung appliances of ANY sort and switched to LG for our TVs. No regrets.
  22. I dunno man, but nothing has changed behind the scenes on TGO for a few weeks now.
