I suppose there are some people who legitimate idolize the British royal family, but my own feelings toward QE2 are just simple admiration and respect. As someone else pointed out, she was gutsy. She also made it her lifelong commitment to put the people of her country first. She, from all appearances, embodied the concept of Servant Leadership. I admire that. She very much seemed to be cut from the same cloth as what we've come to call "The Greatest Generation". She served her country in WWII and knew what true evil looked like and was resolute to stand against it. Again, I admire that. I hope that she truly rests in peace and is now with God, enjoying an eternal reward for a job well done.

HELP ME UNDERSTAND.....PLEASE
TGO David replied to JohnSutton1980's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
It can take some time to adjust to and you might even find benefit getting some help, at the range, from someone who is already proficient with it. Dry fire is also your friend. In fact, dry fire is a scenario where you will get more out of it by having a dot and it will also make you better with the dot by practicing. Incorporate drawing from a holster, drawing from concealment, into your dry fire with the dot and take your time with it. Pay attention to how your hands, arms, shoulders, head, and eyes are positioned when it works and then deconstruct that slowly, in reverse, to figure out the draw mechanics. It's the same as learning to draw and acquire your iron sights but once it clicks for you, it'll allow you to be faster. -
In other words, don't sleep on this one! Seriously, it's hard to imagine a more comfortable holster than this one.

I've got one of these myself. SUPER comfortable holster. The wait time on getting Milt Sparks to build a holster for you has historically been measured in months, so this sale ad is a great way to own one without that sort of delay.

This typically happens when people copy and paste onto TGO from somewhere else.

OOOOOOOOoooooooo, you went there!

That's Tu Lam of Ronin Tactics. You mean you don't practice impaired shooting drills? Tu Lam, of Ronin Tactics, is a Man of Honor, Discipline and Service (ballisticmag.com)

Fishing shirt, cargo shorts, white socks and a crisp pair of New Balance kicks and you'll be set.

I imagine they're pushing their Dragonfly optic, or whatever it's called, but I'm with you on wanting other options. The AOS mounting system should make that a non-issue. I'm not ditching my C2 for one of these but I can see buying one or two of them for myself and the wife. I want something to carry that I'd be a little less bothered by if it got banged around in a class or I had to watch it disappear into an evidence vault if, God forbid, I had to use it to defend myself. And my wife is a sucker for the 1911/2011 and this would be a great way to give her one of her own.

Entire segments of gun-toting professionals, competitive shooters, and armed civilians who take the craft seriously. It kind of blows my mind that there is anyone left who hasn't noticed the resurgence of the 2011 over the past few years.

More information that excites me: Confirmed that Springfield licensed the Agency Optics System (AOS) from Agency Arms. This is an OMG moment for me as (a.) it's a hell of a smart move that provides an outstanding optics mounting design, and (b.) it means that Agency is willing to license the AOS to other manufacturers now and that will be great for everyone. The magazines are not made by MecGar as was previously reported but are made by DuraMag instead. If I had to choose between them, it's a no-brainer: DuraMag. They (DuraMag) also stated on social media that they worked hard to make these mags compatible with the Staccato series of pistols, so this means we will start seeing cheaper and arguably better mags for that platform as a result.

You’re not their target demographic.

More high-res pics. In photos, this thing looks good and looks like a veritable clone of the Staccato C2. It's been a long while since I was legitimately excited about a new gun, but this could light my fire if it's done well. Don't F this up, Springfield.

I've got a Staccato C2 DPO (optics ready) and carry it often. If this 1911DS from Springfield doesn't suck, I can see myself buying one so as to have a less expensive option for carry purposes. The problem with Springfield is that you can buy two of the same gun from them and one will be perfect and trouble-free, and the other might be a complete trainwreck. I'm going to be interested in seeing how this one shakes out.

How to ship a firearm for service?
TGO David replied to billyblazes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
My thoughts as well. -
Those vests don't look right unless you've got a bloody duck, quail or pheasant hanging out of a pocket and a Labrador Retriever at your side.

When I am volunteering on my church safety team, I wear an untucked camp style shirt and leave the bottom button undone. It allows for quicker and easier draw without getting hung up on the shirt. Depending on the make of the shirt, sometimes I have to buy a +1 size in order to get it loose enough to move freely around the gun. Some shirts just don't pass muster because they end up looking too big, so experimentation is necessary. I've had good luck with Columbia and Magellan camp/fishing shirts.

I loved my Shadow Systems MR920 but I love my Agency Syndicate slide with the Agency Optics System (AOS) mounting plates even better. It's pretty similar to the CZ Customs configuration that @deerslayer mentioned, above, and opens the door for compatibility to a variety of optics. I've got a Holosun HE509T-X2 green dot on mine and it's nice. If I were a smarter man, I'd probably buy a Gen 3 compatible AOS slide and an MR920 frame and put the two together. That would probably be the end-all be-all. As is, I'm making do with an actual Glock Gen 5 G19 frame, like some sort of peasant.

Austism & firearms ownership in TN?
TGO David replied to TresMon's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Glock vs. 1911 arguments, also. -
First let me say that I think the majority of concealment woes come from using a weak belt, wrong holster design or sub-optimal holster positioning. It can be any one of those, or any combination of them. That out of the way, I have found that Life is Good t-shirts tend to generally be made of heavier weight fabric and more generously cut. They also don't scream "tactical" to the observer and their happy, go-lucky branding is entirely unassuming. Carhartt t-shirts are about the same.

God help us if they ever start using caliber debates on forums for any sort of litmus test.
