  9. I went down there Saturday and picked up some .30 AP while they had some left.  They had about 25% of the racks stocked and it was packed out.  If you decide to drive down, you may get one faster.
  10. Seems like there is a scramble for the Dem Govenor's to outdo one another.  New law proposed today, "An Act To Strengthen and Enhance Firearms Laws in the Commonwealth"       - Seven round mag limit – Magazines are now limited to seven rounds. Current 10 round mags are grandfathered. Owners of so-called “pre-ban” Mass mags (magazines with more than 10-rounds which were allowable under existing law) have one year to ditch them   - One Gun A Month – Sales – Bay Staters may not purchase more than one firearm per month. To exceed that rate is a felony. (2.5 years in prison, $1000 fine)   - One Gun a Month – Rental/Lease – Citizens may not rent or lease more than one firearm a month (2.5 years in prison $1000 fine)   - Universal background checks – All firearms sales (including private sales) must be preceded by a NICS criminal background check   - Gun show registration – Gun shows must report every seller at a show to the Department of Criminal Justice Services and pay a $500 fee to same   - No Bail for Gun Offenders - If a gun is used in a violent crime the offender may be held without bail until trial   - NERF-free schools - Airguns, BB guns, paintball guns, air rifles and yes NERF guns may not be possessed on school property ($500 and a year in jail)   - “Rat Rule” – Any staff or administrators who fail to report a violation of the above law are criminals ($500 fine)
  11. I am just catching up on all this today and I have several questions.  How do they conduct the background check?     Do I give my co-worker my SSN for him to enter in enter through a Interactive Voice Response system for that Kimber he has been trying to sell? I have known him for years.  Seems like private property is not private.
  12. Tikirocker is the moderator over at surplusrifleforum.com and he seems to know about everything you would like to know about the LeeEnfield. I have planned to order one of those form Classic for awhile now. Thanks for the motivation!
  13. They sent mine back because I forgot to put my DOB and it took 4 months after all was said and done.
  14. From Wikepedia notation... "SSA" and "NRF" markings are sometimes encountered on First World War-dated SMLE Mk III* rifles. These stand for "Standard Small Arms" and "National Rifle Factory", respectively. Rifles so marked were assembled using parts from various other manufacturers, as part of a scheme during the First World War to boost rifle production in the UK. Only SMLE Mk III* rifles are known to have been assembled under this program.
  15. It appears to be mostly still black. I have not found any import marks on it anywhere. It is interesting that although it has all matching serial numbers, the one on the front sight is scratched out and renumbered. I was told that was common with the Peddle-Scheme rifles. Also, the rearsenal may be where the wood repair was done and the original SSA was re-stamped with JT...any ideas?
  16. That usually does not take long with the Mosins..
  17. Absolutely correct! Ammo is usually what drives the purchase for me and the .303 is getting hard to find surplus ammo. They are all fun to shoot, but it seems more fun when you don't have to shoot expensive ammo.
  18. I picked this up last week and it just looks great. All matching numbers from barrel down to the stock. This Enfield has been rearsenaled at some point. The wood is original and has a faint serial cartouche on the front lower handguard, not sure about the finish. I have never seen an Enfield with such nice wood. Usually they are beat up pretty bad. I am looking forward to shooting this and getting more history on it.
  19. Something I picked up to replace the G30. Kimber Ultra CDP II with Crimson Trace Grips. I have never had a Kimber before and now I may be hooked.
  20. I played with an RTF a couple of months ago and wondered why I have not been seeing them in Gun Shops or online. Are they not going to be produced RTF model and go straight to GEN 4?
