  1. I've used white lithium grease for years.
  2. We are looking to buy a house in a private sale. I am looking for an inspector who won't charge an arm and a leg. House is 1700 sf one level with crawl space. Anybody have any recommendations? Thanks in advance
  3. Storing MREs in an unregulated environment where they are exposed to high temps is a death sentence. Stored indoors in a stable environment MREs will last much longer than the printed dates. At the last two gun shows in Jackson that I have been to there is a guy that sets up right across from the snack bar and he had several cases of MREs 2015 pack date I believe for $50 per case. I'm sure cash and multiple case purchase would get a discount.
  4. Walmart is selling the new metal .50 cal cans for 8.97. That is their new "everyday low price". They used to be $15. Better than the plastic crap.
  5. OP, this happened to me as well in Kentucky. I didn't notice at the time but several days later I noticed the "hole" under the door lock. My .38 that I kept in the console was missing. Keep in mind, my Ipad, GPS and work briefcase was in plain sight and untouched. What I found when I googled was this: Usually the theives in this type if break in (a) take things that wont be missed for some time and (b) they get your home address info from your GPS or insurance card/registration. With that, they can pay your house a visit.
  6. Serbia has produced some of the best brass case 7.62x39 in the world. They've got the machinery to mass produce but they don't --because you are right-- steel case is cheaper to produce. You take cheap Russian steel case off the market though and all of a sudden the obstacles are gone.
  7. If the Russian ammo sources are stopped, Serbia will increase it's ammo production. There will be a shortfall in the market, no doubt but when the demand gets high enough, Serbia will kick in in a big way. Right now they can't compete with Russia on price and volume. If the door shuts on Russia, it leaves a huge market void for someone to fill.
  8. Well there are several solid performing pistols in both categories. It does boil down to personal preference. I believe that Glocks are the most reliable handguns in the market. However, I can't hit with one worth a toot. So they are not for me. CZ 75 both full and compact are fantastic performers. Reliable, smooth shooting handguns. For me, the Beretta M9/92SF platform is the cat's meow. Ultra dependable, I can hit what I am at, follow up/rapid shots are smooth and accurate. I've never fired a Beretta compact as to me, they are not really "compact". My compact is an M&P sheild 9 and so far, it is reliable with a decent trigger. Note: The best shooting striker fired handgun I've ever fired is the full size Canik TP9 SA. Smooth trigger and I hit what I am for.
  9. I'm in Clarksburg - Carroll county. Address is Huntingdon cause Clarksburg is too small for it's own address. It is definitely rural and has a school. K-12. Yep 1 school all grades. Most of the teachers are from here and kids get a great education at Clarksburg school. Averages about 20 people per graduation class.
  10. Found a few at the Smky Mtn Gun and Knife shop..asked the counter guy and he said there "was some russian" mags over by the magpuls. Lo and behold there was a bin of steel AK mags -- most where Korean gray and I passed on those. There were 4 European steel mags in there and they let me open the package to inspect. I got those 9.99 each. Excellent retail price on good mags. No luck anywhere else.
  11. In town for a couple more days. Looking to find some used AK mags...prefer local owned shops or pawn shops. Would'nt hurt my feelings to look at some AKs or SKSs either lol Names and locations anyone?
  12. I've built 2; one was a machine screw build and the other was welded....both worked and were extremely accurate.
  13. I prefer an older WASR over ANY of the "new" century American AK...
  14. The SKS mag is one piece...old school steel aftermarket mag.
