  1. You have a point there. I’ll take this opportunity to remind those that may have forgotten; I have a truck and I will haul away all those .40S&W firearms and all the .40S&W ammunition that is no longer in demand. Don’t worry… I have special skills in dealing with dangerous high explosives.
  2. .357Sig and 40S&W are far too powerful for most normal Red Dots. Why… the massive recoil would rip them right off and probably knock you out. Probably a liability issue.
  3. Yes, you are mistaken. No class required. You have to take a test and pay a small fee? Some people do take a class, but some study themselves without a class.

    USB C Hub

Apple has them on their website. But they don’t mention charging from a PC; only from a MAC laptop. Could be they are proprietary. Maybe email them and ask?
  5. Funny you should ask this, I was just thinking yesterday about creating a database in ACCESS. I used MyGunDB, but its no longer supported. So I created my database in an EXCEL spreadsheet. I worked with ACCESS years ago and I think making individual page layouts for each gun would be much cooler. Maybe someone has already done this and would like to share? I’ve not tried to add pictures to either yet. My C&R stuff is just a WORD document in a 3-ring binder.
  6. I’m not questioning David’s right to do want he or any other Mod wants to do on his forum. Zuckerberg and Dorsey do want they want on theirs. If it’s political ramblings or videos of Trump or Biden either one I can understand that. Nether of them are Doctors. But Doctors do not agree. Simple as that. Don’t you think that warrants discussion?
  7. I believe their cases were separated. The Judge can’t rule on what’s not before him. The state AG said there was no evidence that their actions weren’t justified. And the Governor said he would pardon them if they were convicted. That should have been the end of it. It’s a good thing the Judge is doing. But its another case of someone getting exactly as much justice as they can afford. Most normal folks would have been offered a plea bargain that involved them pleading guilty and getting probation; or fighting it and possibly being financially destroyed.
  8. I fully realize I had a chance to buy 10mm ammo. And I am fully stocked on the calibers I need. But after telling myself I wasn’t adding any calibers, I feel victim to my crazy desires that have nothing to do with NEED and everything to do with WANT. I’m just pointing out that unless someone is fully stocked with 10MM; they aren’t getting any. Unless of course they want to pay a buck or two a round. The good news is my 10MM will shoot the bad azz 40S&W, and I have plenty of that. And I know that I will be able to get plenty more of it, because only me and nine other guys in the country use it.
  9. Don’t people need to be aware of and investigate Covid conspiracy theories to make their own determinations on risk? Since the election is over; and friends and family members are getting sick or even dying, and state governments are having shutdowns that are destroying peoples businesses and lives; isn’t this the #1 health concern in our lives right now? I’ve never been big on conspiracies theories, but I see some that I think may be real. I just don’t know; but I would like to hear both sides of the equation and make an informed decision? What’s wrong with that?
  10. https://www.firearmsnews.com/editorial/prosecutor-gardner-kicked-off-mark-mccloskey-case/386867 Prosecutor Gardner Kicked Off Mark McCloskey Case December 15, 2020 By Mark Chesnut We’ve reported for months how George Soros-funded St. Louis Circuit Prosecutor Kim Gardner wrongfully prosecuted St. Louis attorneys Mark and Patricia McCloskey for political purposes rather than in the name of law and order. Now, months after the incident where the McCloskeys protected their property from a large mob loudly marching down the private sidewalk of their home, a judge has kicked her and her staff off Mark McCloskey’s case. Thomas Clark II, the St. Louis circuit judge hearing the case, dismissed Gardner, citing two campaign fundraising emails around the time she filed felony gun charges against the couple in July. “In short, the Circuit Attorney’s conduct raises the appearance that she initiated a criminal prosecution for political purposes,” Clark wrote. The dismissal brought a quick response from one of the couple’s attorneys, Al Watkins. “Prosecutors are held to a higher standard legally, ethically and politically,” Watkins said in a text reported in The Washington Times. “When you swing and miss on all three, you have to hit the lockers.” The dismissal of Gardner from the case was a long time in coming. Not only was the prosecution always about a liberal, anti-gun prosecutor trying to make an example of the McCloskeys, Gardner’s malfeasance concerning in case from the very beginning has been noteworthy. As Judge Clark mentioned, in early August, Gardner used the case in a fund-raising effort to raise money for her reelection campaign. According to court records, the fundraising email to Gardner supporters read, “You might be familiar with the story of the couple who brandished guns during a peaceful protest outside their mansion. In the last 24 hours, there has been a lot of national attention surrounding Kim’s decision to press charges against a couple that brandished guns at a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest.” The email then prompted supporters to “rush a donation today” to signal their support for her in the case. At the time, Joel Schwartz, attorney for the couple, wrote in a court motion: “Ms. Gardner, via her campaign mailers, linked the criminal proceedings against [the McCloskeys] to her personal, financial and political interests. The standard for disqualification of a prosecutor is the same as that for a judge. A prosecutor (and a prosecutor’s office as a whole when appropriate), should be disqualified where a reasonable person would have factual grounds to find an appearance of impropriety.” Not long after that, a group of 16 congressmen signed on to a letter to U.S. Attorney General William Barr asking that Gardner be removed from the politically motivated case. “Our constitution is clear, ‘… the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed,’” the letter said. “The state of Missouri goes even further and gives, ‘… the right of every citizen to keep and bear arms, ammunition, and accessories typical to the normal function of such arms, in defense of his home, person, family and property …’ “Sadly, these God-given rights bestowed upon all citizens of the United States were trampled by the McCloskey’s very own local officials, who are responsible for upholding the law. This decision (to prosecute) is not only an abuse of power, it is reckless assault on all citizens’ right to bear arms.” While the dismissal is a positive step forward, it currently only applies to the case against Mark McCloskey, not his wife Patricia’s case. Attorneys are likely to ask the court to apply the ruling to her case also sometime soon.
  11. I sold a shotgun to a forum member a few years back. Then it was legal to ship from a UPS service center. I declared it at the counter as required by law. The “security officer” told me it was a UPS violation and a violation of law. I knew it wasn’t a violation of law, but had to check UPS procedures. It wasn’t a violation and I called their 800 number. Their customer service told me the clown at the service center was wrong; but because a gun was involved they could not override him. My choice was send it through the Central Smashing Station at the USPS; or deliver it myself. So I made a 200 mile round trip I hadn’t planned on to deliver the gun. I don’t try to do any shipping of guns anymore unless it is FFL to FFL. And that’s usually cost prohibitive.
  12. GAG has gone to MSRP in the last week or so. This is just a plain 6” S&W 686 (164224) that I was tracking new price on, while trying to find something used. 01/20/20 $664.99 05/25/20 $703.99 +5.86% 7/10/20 $707.99 +6.47% 11/05/20 $729.99 +9.77% 11/29/20 $789.99 +18.80% 12/15/20 $853.00 +28.27% Since January S&W raised the MSRP $20 or 2.4% (that happened in the last couple of weeks). During that same time GAG has increased the price $188 or 28.27% I’m not picking on GAG; they are the main one I was tracking, as they have had the best prices until now. Most reputable places don’t mess with the price if they don’t have the gun in stock. Some less reputable places list a much lower price when they don’t have them, and then raise it when they do. Some don’t list a price if they don’t have the gun. Maybe GAG has decided to list MSRP on guns they don’t have and will price them accordingly when they available; I don’t know.
  13. Yes. But training could be coming from a friend or family member that is more than qualified to teach them.
  14. I wore soft body armor religiously on patrol; luckily I was never shot. But the guys I knew that were said it will take the fight right out of you. I was attacked and stabbed in the back during a neighborhood riot. I didn’t even know it until the Officer that arrested the guy told me later. A friend of mine was shot a bunch of times with a .22 when the suspect answered the door on a domestic violence call. Some of the rounds went below the vest and in through the open side panels, but it stopped the shots that would have killed him. I used to think that I couldn’t imagine being somewhere that I would need body armor. But I guess today that could be at my house. Although brick, or most any other cover, will stop or deflect rounds better than body armor.
  15. I had it do that few days ago. I used the same email address I had; it accepted it and continued on.
  16. I only get this message on gun sites. And I think I have only seen it with KYGUNS and GRAB A GUN. Is this something they are using…or whats going on?
  17. Anyone taking vitamin D, or anything else should do their research. I did when I saw it being used to help with Covid. Too much vitamin D can cause serious problems like bone loss and kidney failure. I am not a Doctor and don’t pretend to be. But it does not take much research to find out if there are any problems with taking too much of any vitamin. I was always told that your body will only use the amount of vitamin it needs and will pass the excess. It appears that may not be true with all vitamins.
  18. That sounds like a good idea. I went to their web site, but I don’t see where they tell me what the fees are (without creating an account first)? I’ve had my card hacked 3 or 4 times over the last few years. I’ve often wondered why the credit card companies don’t allow me to go into my account and generate a single use pay. They put a security number on your card, but all the online stuff want that number. Once it’s out there; it’s no longer secure, and they can do what they want. Do most places accept that?
  19. That’s a good question. You would think they have a standardized test and cover what’s on it; but who knows. I don’t see any reviews. It looks like the prices range from around $18 to $40. It might be good for some folks here that have been through them to review them here. I think these are a good deal for some folks. For example, my wife has no interest in shooting or carrying. I do most of my shooting anymore in Illinois, my family has land there to shoot on. I can’t carry in Illinois, but I can have a loaded gun in my vehicle on my Tennessee permit. So, I always have to make sure if the wife takes the vehicle without me; there’s no gun in it. Depending on where we are; that could be a problem. With this permit; it wouldn’t be an issue. Then if she decides she wants to carry; I can train her, and she can then take a class and get the enhanced.
  20. F8 is what you are using to access your recovery system. F2 will access the BIOS so you can change the settings for the boot sequence. I don’t know if you are familiar with changing bios settings or not; but be careful that’s all you change.
  21. If you can, or get someone, to download the latest Windows 10 and create a USB install drive, that the way to go. It gives you the option of trying to save your files (I wouldn’t recommend that on a questionable drive) or do a clean install. It also asks for a key and has “I don’t have a key” as an option. It will still install. I think you then have 30 days to deal with that, but I just did several clean installs on old PC’s lately and mine all activated fine. But my PC’s are registered on my Microsoft account and that could be why. I'm just saying this because there is a possibility you simply have corrupted Windows. If it won’t install, it will probably tell you if you have a bad drive. If that’s the case; you get a new drive and rerun the install. I would replace that 128GB drive with a bigger one; they don’t cost that much more. But that’s certainly your call. Windows 10, Norton, Office, and all the miscellaneous stuff takes up a lot.
  22. When you see the Dell logo during POST, press the F2 key to enter the setup screen. They are kinda touchy and it may take a few tries. Look for the BOOT settings. Right now the hard drive is the first boot device. Make the first boot device whatever you are going to try to boot from, whether that be a Windows DVD, or a USB drive. Make the second device the hard drive. If you install windows from a USB drive, it will reach a point where it reboots. You need to reenter the bios and change the boot order making the hard drive the first device; otherwise it will start the install process over. If it does that; don’t worry. Hold the power button down until the PC shuts off. Remove the USB drive and turn the power back on. The Windows install will continue and if it needs anymore info from the install USB; it will prompt you to plug it back in. If you aren’t trying to save any files on that PC, you don’t need that backup restored. And I wouldn’t do that unless you have a reason. Windows can do a clean install and then you can start adding stuff. That will tell you if the hard drive is bad. But even if it is, and you get a new hard drive; you still need to be able to boot from wherever you are installing Windows from. Don’t worry about buying windows. Windows 10 will install without a key. It will probably recognize your hardware and activate. If it doesn’t; you will have a functioning operating system for awhile and you can either buy a key, or then use whatever software you used to make that back-up and you can reinstall it. There have been a lot of changes in Windows 10, and installing the latest version would certainly make things easier.
  23. While I agree that the anti-gunners need to go, what would Trump firing them do besides give them a months vacation? If they are anti-gunners Biden would reinstate them out of spite. The Pistol Brace ruling by the ATF will probably be changed in January.
