  1. It's funny I was actually going to do a post like this. If I'm traveling or out for a long ride I have mine in the tank bag. I'm riding a '98 SuperHawk and with full leather on I haven't found a good way to carry on me. Did hear back over the summer about a guy who was carrying with a Serpa holster mounted to the bike. Some buddies ran in to him while out one day. Just don't know about that.

    Gallatin Gun Club

What is the yearly rate at the GGC? My date was a member back in the 80's before he passed and as a kid I could of told you it was a nice setup. They repainted the skeet house once because of me. Like a week after they had painted them. I really would like to get a membership out there. Verne
  3. I watch it religiously. One hell of a show. I have been raising hell since summer because of the break. At least I had Supernatural to watch.
  4. They were on the display right in front of the store facing the pistol cases.
  5. a hat and Don Hume holster. I believe this is the cheapest I have ever got out of there. But my buddy did pick out his .223 can so he made up for it. Don't the hat look nice. Pay no attention to the goofy guy holding the rifle.
  6. It's black and and sorta evil but working on it's Big Brother when Del-Ton gets to my order. Savage Mark II .22 with threaded barrel and the YHM Mite.
  7. Share all you want. After building this one I have realized some areas for improvement. More than likely going to turn it on its side and make it wider. Height isn't an issue but the width is. I saw one the other day made out of a refrigerator box. It had two sets of the construction lights with three lights on each across the top and one at each end. Was huge. Curious to how well it works. Might try one at some point. Here are some more from me.
  8. Talked to the Brentwood office of the BATFE yesterday and the gentleman said I would have to send a Citizienship form with it. Printed one off and mailed it on my way home. So now is the wait and I hate waiting on the ATF. At least I'm not waiting for another stamp. Thanks again guys.
  9. A buddy of mine decided he wanted a Kimber so this one had to go. He told be a price that seemed crazy, even asked him about it, and he said it picked it up at an estate auction cheap. Heck he even made a few bucks off me.
  10. Thanks guys. All I could find in my searching were stuff that was several years old. Reservoir Dog: Thanks but I already have it on PDF. Found it while looking for info. Thanks again,
  11. Doesn't say it any where I can find and didn't come with my form. In some searching on the net people were talking about it. If I don't need it that is a plus for me. Thanks for the info too.
  12. I have done some searching but want to make sure I have this right. With the C&R Application you have to send a Proof of Citizenship form? Can this be one printed from a PDF file? If not where can I get one with out waiting on the ATF to send me one? Also on the application in Section 4 "Name of County in which Collecting Activity is Located" this is the County you live in correct? Since it took a month to get the forms I want to make sure I dot all my i's and cross all my t's. Thanks everyone, Verne
  13. I am having my Savage Mark II threaded right now for my Mite. I am looking to see how quite I can get it. The bolt dropping should be louder than the shoot itself, I hope. Now every time I look at a .22 my first question is "Does it come in a threaded barrel?".

    Uselton Arms!

+2 on Sam. He is the only one that touches my guns. Quality work all the time. Now I just need to get my rifle back from him so I can drop off the 1911 for him to tweak. Verne

    30rd AR Mags

For those looking, Shadow Warrior in Hartsville, TN at the Hwy 231 and Hwy 25 intersection has more H&K mags. I picked up 2 more and he still had some. Don't know how many but at $35 a piece it might be worth a stop if you are in the area. Or you can call them at 615-374-4229 check to make sure.
  16. A Canon 30D with a Canon Nifty 50 F1.8 and 430ex flash with a Stoffen Defuser. I need to set my white balance on the thing. Been using Auto and is really showing in the pics. Still trying to master all this. Don't know if I like them better with or without the flash. Got to do some testing. Now if I can find another model for the other project. The one I was going to use got herself knocked up, plus the husband was not to keen on the idea anyway.
  17. Here you guys go. It is a decent sized card board box I got something shipped to me in. I cut the top and sides out leaving a 1.5 inch edge. I covered the holes with Freezer paper. On the inside I got a piece of poster board and cut it to fit. I left the flaps on the front to keep the lights out of my eyes but looks like it helps keep it off the camera too. The lights are some used studio lights I picked up from a friend. The two on the sides are 250 watt each and the top one is 500.I have seen people use flood lights from Lowes/Home Depot, which is what I have to use, but bought these before I finished the box. Now for pics. Inspiration for these pics came from Pinmaster post. By the way I really liked your back ground in yours. That will be one of my projects to try after the models and guns project is done. This is probably my must prized gun. It was my Fathers and it is a 1956 build. It could use some TLC but this is how it was when I inherited it 20 years ago and is how I like it. Worn and used. The Infamous BOX. Top light. Thanks, Verne
  18. I'll get some pics of it this afternoon when I get off work. Thanks for the comments
  19. Finally finished my photography light box. So what better way to test it then with some Firearms. A week ago I picked up this Charles Daly 1911 for next to nothing. I have put a couple hundred rounds through it with no problems but heavy recoil. Since then I have installed a spring buffer and a Wolff 18lb spring. Will be testing this weekend to see if it helped. And one artsie pic.
  20. Was a 1911 until I picked one up this morning. Now it is a snub nose .357.
  21. I e-mailed Hi-Point last night about getting a rear sight since on the one I got it was missing. In less then an hour and half I got an e-mail back asking for my mailing address. Got another one this morning saying it would be in the mail today. That is great customer service.
  22. Me and a buddy picked two of these up today. When I saw them I remembered this thread and thought it would be fun to have, then he quoted us a price if we bought both. So we walked out with one each. Just need a few extra mags and some time to shoot. Hopefully tomorrow. Verne

    30rd AR Mags

I got the last two H&K's. The owner said he had over 20 a week ago. The price on the GI's didn't seem bad but I have no clue what they go for. It is a local place for me so I will help support them. Verne

    30rd AR Mags

Out at Shadow Warrior in Hartsville, TN they have a bunch of used GI mags with green followers starting at $12 or $14 and new ones around $22. Don't know if that is good are bad but he also had some brand new H&K's for $35 a piece.
  25. Probably going to go and pick them both up. For that price why not. One is in a little rough shape but nothing major. Slightly scratched stock is all. Just needs some TLC, tap for a scope and the end of the barrel thread. Then it will be good to go for me. Verne
