  1. Thanks for the review. I have a G43X and am happy with it, but I'm intrigued by the PSA. PSA has Shield cut version on sale for $339 currently, and I use the PSA mags already with the 43X. I have a PSA G19 version which I'm very happy with. It wouldn't compare well to a Shadow Systems version either, but for the price, it's a great value. Don't need a PSA Micro Dagger, but at that price, I'm tempted.
  2. I own a few Taurus revolvers from the late 90's or early 2000's. Fortunately, I've never had to send one in for service. On the other gun boards, people tend to denigrate Taurus CS, but others say it has improved considerably in the past year or so. Hopefully someone here will have recent first-hand experience. Keep us posted.
  3. I have a half dozen or so Taurus revolvers that were acquired in the 90's to early 2000's, and they're all average or above average. Like others have alluded to here, I would consider a Taurus revolver only if I could inspect in person and try the trigger/cylinder. I order a fair number of firearms online and have had few issues upon receipt/transfer, but I wouldn't take a chance online with a Taurus or Rossi revolver. I've never dealt with Taurus/Rossi customer service, but I've read some horror stories in the gun forums. Of course, you never know if those or true or not.
  4. I don't have an "every trip" gun, but the one that I bring the most often (half the time?) is a Glock G40 MOS with a KKM 40SW conversion barrel, Vortex Venom RDS, and Johnny Glock trigger. Very smooth shooting with little recoil and best striker-fired trigger of any gun I own.
  5. OP said 9mm. Someone else suggested 1911. So how about a 1911 in 9mm? OP said not too expensive, so not sure what kind of quality you could get in desired price range. RIA makes several 1911s in 9mm which I would think are of decent quality. (I have a RIA in 10mm which is a decent gun.)
  6. 62caster, Did you acquire the P320? How do you like it? I recently bought one. I like it OK. Not the greatest, but probably in my top 10. If you got it, and it's the 17-round version, you might check out ACT mags as they're about half the price of the Sig mags at $23. I bought a couple from Greg Cote LLC, and they've functioned perfectly (about 100 rounds through each mag). Also, Aim Surplus has used Sig 17-round mags for $25.
  7. I think those with memberships (me included) are out of luck. As someone said earlier, they purchased Guns and Leather in Hermitage. If Hendersonville isn't too far, you might try there. Outpost Armory's facebook page says free 3-month membership if you have proof of active membership at OnTarget.

  9. Outpost Armory Murfreesboro is giving a free 3-month membership to On Target customers with proof of membership there. I noticed it on one of the social media pages. Fortunately, I had my OT receipt and went this morning. You get a "Gold" membership which is their middle package. It's $525/year, so that's pretty a nice touch to get free for 3 months.
  10. Got a second email this afternoon stating they're working with another FFL for NFA items with additional details to follow. Hopefully, anyone with pending items will have a smooth transition.
  11. Have/had a membership there. Like some others posted above, noticed not much traffic at the Murfreesboro location the past few weeks along with light inventory. I shot there often but rarely purchased anything as they were a full price store and IMO condescending as a seller. (If I'm going to pay full price, I don't want to be treated like an idiot at the same time.) Complete guess here, but I wonder if they incurred too much debt to open the second location. As I work in Murfreesboro and would often use the range at lunch, I just hope someone acquires it and keeps the range.
  12. I'd settle for an average gunsmith if anyone knows any in Rutherford/Wilson counties. Anyone? Or maybe someone who builds 1911s. I think they often require fitting. I can start asking around at gunshops, but I'm sure they'd recommend their guy/friend. Seems like several have someone that rotates to different shops during the week. I rather have some real world recommendations, assuming anyone has them.
  13. Recently acquired an LE trade-in Sig P226 in 40. Shoots wonderfully for a $320 gun!! My dream gun has always been a P226 in 9mm as a suppressor host, but we know how much that would cost new. Especially with a threaded barrel. After extensive research, I decided on a BarSto semi-fit threaded 40 to 9mm conversion barrel. Per their description, about 75% of the time, they'll drop in with no fitting required, but no such luck for me. I can "click" the barrel into place in the slide with a little thumb pressure, and it takes slight pressure to press it out. Also, can't get the slide with barrel on the frame. I'm guessing the barrel lug is hitting the locking block. At first I thought I'd try fitting it myself, but after watching youtube videos and reading several sites/threads, I'd gladly pay $100 or so to have someone fit it for me as opposed to taking a chance on ruining a $300 barrel. Two questions: Any idea for the "average" cost to fit a semi-fit barrel? Does anyone have a gunsmith in the Wilson County or Rutherford County area they'd use for this? Thanks for any replies.
  14. I think it was entertainment as much as anything else. He has a "family farm" with an old farmhouse he camps/hunts at once a month or so. I think he plans to leave it there just to have some other options. As little as he has in it, it wouldn't be big loss if it disappeared.
