    I’ve recently been issued a Gen 5 17 and after discussion with a few coworkers I’ve found something that concerns me. Reloading from slide locked to the rear, a small percentage of the time of you slam a magazine in the slide lock disengages and the slide returns to battery. Not always, and it’s not a repeatable thing. I know in some of the older M&Ps this was a design feature but it was repeatable 100% of the time a magazine was firmly inserted. Does anyone have any experience or information regarding this? Design flaw? Weak spring on the slide lock mechanism? User error?

    I just picked one of these up in trade a week ago in 357 sig. Anyone have any experience with them? Essentially its a 229 frame, with a 224 length slide. I'm not having a lot of luck with online holster shopping. I'd be most interested to hear if anyone has one of these, and has found a holster they like?
