  1. Hey guys, wow. Sorry it took so long to get back to ya. Someone actually sniped the handgun I was looking after. Weeks there were no bids on a particular handgun I'd had my eye on, and boom it's gone. Fate will bite if you sit idle. Well just lets me focus on other things at the moment. I appreciate you guys offering so many varying opinions. Best wishes to all. If it pleases the court, I'll CONSIDER a glock 19. The Gadget looks kinda cool. edit: lol I looked at the prices of them, swerve.
  2. That's the plan, the 41AE is going to be a tinkerer thing I mess with later on down the line. It's out of production now, so I'll have to find a box at a gun show or something along those lines.
  3. I completely agree with a lot of the advice and the topics discussed here. Ultimately the gun caught my eye, and while digging in further to make sure I didn't fall for an aesthetic, I found a solid 9mm handgun, with a solid reputation behind it. It was later then I found that media had taken a liking to the aesthetic with appearances in Fast and Furious, Cowboy Bebop just to name a few. To address the 41AE round, Dad. It was an idea that I had as an after thought as a cool thing to come down every now and then, shoot and use your reloader. As you stated, it is expensive, and I don't wanna drop money into more than a box or so at a time. If that's alright with you. We don't see each other enough as it is, with me starting my career and all. I'm very much aware that I'm choosing a less than practical first firearm for everyday carry. If the experience sucks, well lesson learned. I thank you all for your input and advice. I hope you all have a great evening. I'll definitely post pictures.
  4. To follow up with the majority of you who asked, the guns purpose will be primarily as a range gun/ home defence and I'll probably fiddle with the idea of using it as a carry gun as I know it's a solid, bulky gun. Secondly, the 41AE is indeed rare and I'll be grabbing a box or two and will be using the excuse to visit my dad who frequents the forum a bit, for reloading the brass. I need more excuses to see my old man, anyhow. I think you guys helped solidify my thoughts and ideas towards this gun and the idea that this would be a good first gun for a not-so-novice individual. Any other followup questions, I'll be happy to answer them.
  5. Do you have that as a script for "First gun" posts? I get the reasoning behind the Glock 19, but can I get a bit more input as to why?
  6. Hey guys, I've lurked off and on for a bit and have been contemplating on purchasing my first firearm, and after my ample research and polling, I've had a particular pistol catch my eye and I've found a reputable reseller through gunbroker that will ship to a local FFL, I just thought I'd open this up to a public forum. That handgun, is the Jericho 941 by IMI. Now from a practicality standpoint I know this is off the wall. Cowboy Bebop references aside, this handgun was used by Israeli special forces, uses CZ mags, and has the ability to swap barrels to rechamber in 41 AE. While yes, nobody shoots 41 AE, its unique and packs a punch. It's a bit heavier, but has a really nice grip and shoots pretty accurately. Now insight into me, I'm an engineer and tinkerer by nature, I've grown up around firearms my entire life, shot several, cleaned several, passed by Concealed Carry, but have never owned a firearm other than a shotgun. Now I open up the floor to you guys as a review, with all my research and effort into vetting this as a first gun, do you guys recommend?
