  1. If you do go this route, consider the different reticle options. A triangle-shaped reticle can be used for more precise aiming if the gun is sighted with POI at the top tip, but still be quick at close range using the entire triangle. As has been said, it might all be moot. (And I do hope it's a question you never have an answer to...)
  2. Well dang, DaveTN. I keep trying, but I can get the address right for you! Maybe next time...
  3. For some of the reasons mentioned above, and some others, the situation in south Asia scares me more than Russia or China: https://www-m.cnn.com/2019/02/27/india/india-pakistan-strikes-escalation-intl/index.html?r=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnn.com%2F
  4. Stunning is a good word for it. That's a beautiful piece of art. Congratulations on putting that sale together! I gotta think that's not a quick/ easy project.
  5. Thank you for the update! Please keep us posted.
  6. Why no love for a neck knife? They've never seemed all that practical to me, but I'm not really a knife guy so I assumed there was something there that I just didn't get.
  7. I answered No. I did actually go to SW Wisconsin for a long weekend with a good friend of mine. We did load guns and get into the brush for about two days, saw some sign but no pigs. So, I'll say no, I haven't ever really hunted hogs. Not like I've hunted deer or waterfowl or grouse or pheasants or morels.
  8. The cleaning video reminded me of this one: Cleaning a perch in a hurry.
  9. I'm absolutely in favor of secure borders. I just don't think that a wall is the best way to accomplish that outside of urban areas (where we already have walls, and we're already discovering tunnels and other methods of defeating those walls). Response time for a lot of the remote sections of the border with the current number of agents and current toolset is measured in days. A wall will slow people down for minutes. Let's spend those billions of your and my tax dollars on people and technology that can be applied in many places and against many different types of challenges.
  10. Are you set on a revolver? A 10mm pistol could be a good choice with higher capacity. And there's a load from Buffalo Bore in 9mm that's responsible for at least one brown bear. Not sure I'd be willing to go that route myself though... For my own education, do hogs in this scenario tend to be alone? Or is it just the case that shooting one sends the rest of the group on their way? ETA: In case anyone is interested, I found a link to the load and story I mentioned. You'll have to scroll a bit. https://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=388
  11. Do you really think a wall is going to stop someone who had already been deported three times? "Not welcome" obviously doesn't mean more to him than "provided from possessing firearms" means to some felons.
  12. Ah. I thought you were thinking along the lines of people tend to accept it when you act like you're supposed to be doing exactly what you're doing, which is also very true.
  13. They may have actually been working the show, and just rerouted some of the merch to their vehicles instead of the vendors'.
  14. I can imagine. I will say though, a shop teacher with something less than ten fingers can give a pretty thorough lesson about safety...
  15. Thank you, Jeb48! That's a great idea, and I might have to put it to use also.
  16. I've been thinking I'd go to a Gen5 17 and trim the grip up (down?) to 19 size to avoid that cutout.
  17. So then does it have the Sears lifetime replacement warranty? Or is that program kaput with the recent implosion?
  18. Yes, exactly. But some people aren't familiar with firearms, and pulling the trigger to dissassemble makes them nervous. Other people are very familiar with firearms, and pulling the trigger to dissassemble doesn't make them nervous enough. The first group buys something other than a Glock, the second group might eventually put a hole in something which they didn't intend to. Which makes the first group nervous about pulling the trigger to dissassemble... And I'll second the observation that some people believe dry firing anything is bad.
  19. So did our older son (3yrs). Thank you Super Bowl!
  20. Thank you for posting the backs of the labels! I was going to skip these, but I see they're an option for our house. I'm going to get some this week.
  21. Thanks for the info. If you get a wild hair and a bunch of free time, and decide to post a review of your Magpul bipod, I'd be grateful.
  22. As has been said, you either don't need the warranty, or you really need the warranty. My thought on Taurus guns is that I'd buy a .22 revolver if I could check it out in person, but none of their semi auto pistols. Sometimes I think about a .357 or .44 mag if I could find a good price on a non-ported one, but I've been successful talking myself out of that so far.
  23. Yep. Maybe an executive order though. Oh, wait, that's for banning bump stocks... Sigh.
