Was this west of Nashville by any chance? Dickson County is well known for owning that stretch of I-40. I’m always on high alert around there.
No east, just by MT Juliet

What i did notice is on WAZE, there were 3 cops ahead of him, but i pulled off before i got to them. So i am assuming he may have radioed ahead but I never showed up

Driving in i40 my lazer detector went off but I don’t think I slowed down enough. Nobody came after me, do TN send tickets in post ? They obviously go me from the front so no license plate. Just wondering if there is any gang dangle technology !! This was in Wilson.

I thought I would circle back on this! I ended up not shooting them, the reason I did not was because of some of the guidance you fine people provided. What I did was figure out where they were entering the farm, I then got some predator (Coyote) urine and put that down along the entire fence line. I did that twice.
No more skunks!

I had an escort 12g in the UK. Cheapest gun I could find. Never cleaned it, had more shells through it than I can remember. Never had a jam or miss fire.

Well well well! Now she said I can have the bigger 70.3 downstairs. Yeah yer!!!!

Up close and personal the smell is overwhelming. I do have to admit that I find the faint whiff I get now and then of skunk spray while driving a fairly pleasant smell.
I might have been out on the road a wee bit too long. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It goes from smelling like weed to a teacher I used to have a school that had really bad BO to then being unbearable. Those are my 3 levels!
On another note, i'm so glad I started this thread. I learnt a lot!

Well that was my original thought!

That means she has thought of something she wants.
Haha yeah. But she is not normal. She never wants anything Dave. I never know if to love her or hate her for that if you know what I mean. She asks for nothing, she spends nothing, she would rather go to the Goodwill than buy new! I guess it's her pikey upbringing

**Update** She said those words I love to hear. "i'll think about it"

Skunks almost always spray or at least release when shot.
That's why just about anyone who's had to deal with them more than once gets a trap.
I used to work with a guy who was having a problem and took a shot at one when it was close to his house. Is sprayed and was right next to his HVAC - the house smelled for a long time.
On the trap front - I've got it on good authority from a pro trapper friend of mine that Flamin' Hot Cheetos are as foolproof of a skunk bait as you can find.
Hmm, maybe that's what I will do. I'll ask if she can buy them. She is a millionaire, so I am sure a couple of traps wont hurt her pocket

Why does he want them gone? Skunks eat lots of other less desireable critters. A skunk's only natural predator is the Great Horned Owl.
I did actually explain that to her. But she has a wedding venue there, and she does not want the smell.

Don’t have cages. Don’t want to spend the money really. Rather shoot the buggers!

The big farm I shoot for has asked me to dispatch of 4 skunks! Having never shot a skunk in my life I was looking for some advice.
.22 lung shot? I read that head and spine shots normally result in them spraying or 556 and just obliterate them?

Well, just to keep you all updated and amused. I tried the "Sulk" tactic. This proven strategy (with me) has never failed. Until now! 2 solid days of moping around the house like a scolded teenager, only giving one syllable answers to questions with a lot of grunting, nodding and the odd sniff.
Two days guys! I went all in. She aint having it. No tank downstairs!

I am always puzzled by load calculations regarding safes/aquariums etc. When it is presented as (for example) 500 lbs in a 4'x4' footprint, I immediately imagine two 250 lb guys standing in the middle of the room back to back and wondering whether or not the floor is going to cave in.
I keep coming up with no.
But what do I know?
I'm not a structural engineer with a degree and a computer.
That;s exactly what I am thinking! But then I also think they don't stay there 24 hours a day I'm not sure this is going to happen now. Wifey is not keen on me having it downstairs, so we may have to call this one a non starter unless I got really small, which I dont want to do.

Was not the price I was concerned with, these big retailers have make it so easy for you these days and put a lot of design effort into the sump. Plus the tanks look amazing, which most of the cost, Star fire glass etc.
I have been keeping marine fish on and off for a long while. Done the LFS custom tanks, done the off the shelf tanks and each have their pros and cons. I had 250 UK gallon custom built and I loved it! But the hassle is taken out of all that these days with companies like Redsea, Deltec, Waterbox etc. I am just fortunate enough to be able to go that route. And having a great looking tank makes it easier getting it past the wife.

$1100 for a empty 60 gal aquarium and stand?!?! Dude that’s crazy.
Man, this is one item you need to push away from the internet on and visit some local fish stores.
Never said it was cheap I know would not touch a local fish store tank. I’m not knocking them. Just not my thing.
Anyhoo, it’s either downstairs I think or nothing . That’s what it’s looking like .

Some good info and advice here. Still non the wiser the floor covering is wood. Are your right about the water it won’t be 60 gallons . I’ll prob displace 10 gallons with rock and sand.
FWIW i was looking at the Waterbox 60.2

Found this https://www.hunker.com/13400811/how-to-calculate-floor-load-capacity
The dead load on a floor is determined by the materials used in the floor's construction. A typical wood-frame floor covered with carpet or vinyl flooring has a dead load of about 8 pounds per square foot; if there's wall-board covered ceiling suspended from the underside of that floor, the dead load increases to about 10 pounds per square foot. Heavier flooring materials increase the dead load even more.
Building Codes and Limits
Local building codes specify the minimum live load that floors must be able to bear. The International Residential Code, on which most local building codes are based, requires that floors in non-sleeping rooms must support a minimum live load of 40 pounds per square foot, and floors in sleeping rooms must be able to handle a live load of 30 pounds per square foot.
So am I good ? or no?
You may have been wondering where I have been!!
