  1. RIP brother and Thank you for the music. ABB music is a part of my soul. True musicians.
  2. Prayers for a full and uneventful recovery. Prayers to your family as well. God Bless.
  3. It sounds like you have a good hold on things. I may be wrong, but I think some older threads may have been purged as the site changed over the years, Could be that, or my lack of cyberskills. I may cast and Alox some in the future. Right now I'm just purchasing either powder coated bullets or Hi-Tek coated bullets. We did cast and PC some 7.62x39 in the past and they worked great. But I'm pretty well settled into handgun loading and shooting these days. Looking forward to your postings on your adventures in handloading.
  4. I assume you are talking about the actual bullet lube, like Lee Alox or 45-45-10. Or do you have something like an RCBS Bullet sizer / lubricator? I have only used Lee Alox and Powder Coating. Cast Boolits forums has a good bit of info on various lube methods. Dolo and Caster have a few threads about powder coating on here. They help me a bunch back when we used to cast and PC. I'm probably a bit dense LOL Could you elaborate on what your plans are?
  5. Totally agree @Garufa. The five new patients a day I mentioned were all Medicare transplants. It' gonna get much worse.
  6. My Primary Care office has been processing 5 newly relocated California residents per day for over 6 weeks (according to his scheduler). 5 per day! West Knoxville is growing much faster than it's infrastructure can handle. Folks are welcome. Change is inevitable. All I ask is you assimilate and embrace what's left of our culture... I'm a "bitter clinger " and proud of it. Knoxville has excellent health care. Just know the competition for it is putting a strain on services. Get established and be patient. Just recently had this conversation with a friend. Best wishes.
  7. It's a survival mechanism! There's some crazy s**t going on "behind the curtain ". I think it was Waylon that sang "I've always been crazy but it kept me from going insane "...something along that line EMS, Fire, & LEO are kindred spirits
  8. Along the lines of movies I do really like (unlike the above) is the 1999 movie "Bringing Out The Dead". Nicholas Cage is a burned out NYC Paramedic on the verge of a psychotic break and it has a great ensemble cast that are crazier than he is. Scorsese even has a cameo role in it. I saw it with my wife and son in the theater back in N.O. My wife & I were RN's and my son a Medic. We were the only people laughing and we laughed a lot.
  9. I'm trying to figure a downside to this LOL, I did think it was an interesting story with a twist I had not heard/seen before. Arguing with dead people in denial was kinda humorous to me. Felt like doing it at time to time at work... So next time I watch it I'll just close my eyes during those scenes
  10. Is Afterlife a series that streaming? or is it the 2009 movie with Liam Neeson and Christina Ricci? Never know what I'll find when I use the Google machine LOL
  11. I agree @918HCKR that all foods should be rotated. FIFO concept. That said I do have home canned foods that have kept well for 4 years and, some, longer. The foods, of course, lose nutritional value and texture. I remove my rings after 24 hours and gently wash the jars in warm soapy water. It's easier to check for a break in the seal without the rings causing a "false seal". Don't take me wrong please. I think the 18-24 months is a solid recommendation, just not an absolute. I'll be using some pickled jalapeños in a recipe today that I canned in 2019. The seal was great but the pepper texture is soft. Taste is still awesome When I help folks get started in canning I always recommend strictly following trusted guidelines, such as Ball's Bluebook and USDA too. Since I'm gimped up (ankle surgery) I'll be very late getting my garden started this year, but look forward to grabbing some fresh veggies from the local farmer's market and canning them . 12. Thanks @Links2k. I've got the "3 Body Problem" in my que. I am thoroughly enjoying "Shogun" on Hulu. I remember the original series on TV and read the book a very long time ago. I'm impatient by nature so waiting for weekly episodes to drop is not my favorite thing... but the series is developing well. I like old cheesy action movies... like the original "Road House" with Patrick Swayze , Sam Elliot, and Ben Gazzara (1989). But then I think "Lethal Weapon" and "Die Hard" are excellent Christmas movies The "Road House 2024" on Netflix is an abomination! Blasphemy! and I can't get that part of my life back... ETA: I stuck for the next 4-5 weeks on a walker/rollator and ortho boot according to my surgeon yesterday...LIMITED weight bearing hoping the tendons attach properly...so please keep recommendations coming in please.
  13. I don't know if you use TargetSports (I'm a discount member) but they have Armscor .22 short 29 gr solids for $50.59/500. They list several OOS .22 shorts including CCI 27 gr HP. You can set up notifications easily and I've had pretty good luck doing so over the past several months. Heck, I don't even need any and it's tempting
  14. Black Cat firecrackers got mine. Durable little guys We only had Zippos and matches LOL
  15. I think that was the glue. iirc it would harden sealing the slit in the rubber top and would need to be reopened with a knife or pair of scissors. Good times
