  1. well I called the BATF using a number from the link provided by thorn. because I was afraid that I had messed up my form 1. the lady I spoked with said that I was modifying was an existing weapon and no name, city and state was needed. and if I choose to do so, recommended that I do not do it until I had approval to make modifications. and that most of the form 1's she gets have that box empty. felt better:) BUT THEN, she says I need to talk with the person (specialist)that has my form 1 and if she thinks it is a problem, I have 30 days after i get my paperwork back to fix it. of course the woman who has my form 1 was not at her desk so I left a message. like I said before can not seem to get a straight anwser and i will know for sure in a few weeks. also just a note they said it now taking about 8 weeks they have gotten very busy.
  2. i should know in a few weeks if only the orginal serial # is enough.
  3. i am no expert but ATF form 1 (5320.1) states on page 1 of the instructions item i, if an existing firearm is being modified into a NFA enter existing serial # and name and address of manufacter. DO NOT ALTER OR MODIFY THE EXISTING SERIAL #. if made from parts you must put your name and address. could never get a straight answer i guess you could read it both ways.
  4. wow, Wanda got home before i had to go back work and i was surprised at the amount of work you did, a nice little CoF book very nice Trophy,s and even sponsors etc. hope you do it again some time. Robert, you and Jim keep this up and you will have to bring back the music city cup and 3 gun. well it is time for me to get back to working like a dog.
  5. Robert sorry i could not make it, Wanda said she had a good time. she was suppose to get my name tag and forgot it. if you still have it could you hang on to it for me? we will be at the southern regional and the KY state 3 gun. can not say for sure yet if we will be shooting dickson on (next) sunday.
  6. Thank you all for the info. did not know there where so many makers of womans holsters. I do like the Krammer the best because it seems to be very thing I am looking for, but will do some checking into the others.
  7. it my understanding that no scores will be posted because it was called because of weather and not everyone got to shoot all stages.
  8. it was just awful Damn those prison bars. the crew put alot work into the match setup and it showed, good job!

    for the glock haters

it must have been a 40 i know of 2 that have done that. but luckly there was no fallout.
  10. but it may fit the EMP but does not solve the problem. your holster rides high and close to the body like most man's holsters do. so the gun will be in my ribs and or in my arm pit. been there done that. no thanks.
  11. with my shape, inside the waist is uncomfortable. I'm needing something out side that angles the gun out away from me so my gun is not digging into my ribs and low enough so it does not touch my arm pits. I have been wearing out side holters designed like that for me for about 4 years. It's the hour glass problem as well as having a short frame. I want it for concealment as well as competition. Not trying to be a smarty pants. My first year of shooting was difficult due to those problems. Then I found some one who could make them for me but now he is not available.
  12. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the link that JDD posted explains it well. or you could try a IWB holster with a thick pair of winter socks balled up between your hip and the front sight of the gun and you will get the idea.
  13. but oh the sticker shock! I forgot about them, got so use to using kydex only one other company list a 3 inch 1911 and is not for women at all. Robert says I will be happy with Krammer, but I do not like the $$$$.
  14. Looking for a woman's holster for a Springfield 1911 EMP. somrthimg like the drop and offset from blade tech would work but they do not list anything that small. and if you call them they do not know what a EMP is. it has to be for a woman with hips. if not the gun digs into the ribs.
  15. we see alot of double stack 1911 and 2011 in USPSA not very many in 45, but the wife still has hers in 45. My favorite is my double stack 9. you could try talking to EGW or Dawson about grip choices that may be out there for your 1911. i know that S & A makes replacement wood grips for Para. they may also have something for your 1911 also.
  16. do you know if you are going to have squading or a shotgun start? thanks
  17. we also plan on being there, and looking forward to it. Last year we only got to shoot one IDPA major and plan on making up for it this year.
  18. the gun shop in downtown springfield,tn Robert since you cancelled how come you, did not go to the rifle match with chip and the others, of coarse I got a where is Wanda even way down in Bama, Nathan did great.

    LDA vs. SA

for the SA to have a AD several will have to happen namely all the safeties disengaged and hammer fully back. i have never known one to operate from a half cocked position. the LDA has all the safteies of the SA with much longer trigger pull and hammer down. it will also not fire unless the trigger is fully pulled. mine (LDA) would jam up the action when i would short stoke it. but i am no expert.
  20. I was looking into wolff ammo for a pratice ammo. when I read the product description it states that wolff is a bi-metal bullet with a steel core. well all the clubs I go to, I do beleive state NO STEEL CORE ammo! yet there is always someone shooting wolff ammo. am I missing something? sometimes in the shooters meeting they well as put out no steel core ammo. and someone will still use wolff.
  21. Well i am sorry that i was not there, i do not know when the last time you had really bad day so i could beat you. that alone would have been well worth the drive.
  22. i guess i am pretty lucky, we, my wife and i are both shooters, so when i drive almost 4 hours to do a 3 gun match (she only shoots pistol) she just says have fun and be safe. NPTS is within a hour of you but they do not have regular 3 gun matches, but do seem to have a side match with long guns about once a quarter or so.
  23. i had to let him win, ran out of ammo on the stage for a reason, so he would came back. so far as mc he does play to win.
  24. Sorry we could not make it. we have not shot alot since oct. i did look at your new 08 calender. a trophy match hmmm and i got got a new pistol for SSP. we hope to be there as you know my wife is not afriad to shoot without me.
  25. the M1 30 cal carbine that i am thinking of is a pistol round or a small straight wall round if so that would not be allowed at some matches like Manchester that require bottle neck cartridge for the rifle, but i am sure if you showed up at a any match they would not turn you away. Heavy Metal division is for things like M1A/M14 or 308 AR's. we hope you do give 3 gun a try it is a lot fun.
