  1. No savings whatsoever! Sure, I save on background fee, transfer fees, etc...but precisely because of that it makes it so much easier to pull the trigger on old weapons (figuratively...and also literally, I guess) Jim
  2. A few years ago I decided to get a C&R and initially I regretted it (for I am now on the government's radar) but this last year I have acquired six vintage weapons that I have had shipped to my home. They are: Mk1 No 5 Enfield Jungle Carbine, Savage 1917, Remington model 12 pump, Remington model 121 pump, Broomhandle Mauser and a Remington model 51. Jim
  3. Beretta 1951s have been dumped onto the market in the last couple of years and a decent example could be had for $300 - $350. As soon as inventory runs out, they will climb in value.
  4. I have been surprised at how the S&W Hand Ejectors in 38 S&W have climbed in value...they could be a good sleeper...
  5. I have a High-Point 9mm carbine in my farm truck (cheap, but reliable) and I have a j frame S&W with snake shot
  6. I have an RIA 1911 and I love it.

    Carry History

I started in the early 90s after my permit carrying an Ortgies 32 (I tend to collect classic pocket pistols from the film nior era), then a Walther PP, but I realized with traveling by motorcycle across several states I wanted to carry something reliable that I liked but was inexpensive enough that if I got it taken from me by local constabularies, it wouldn't hurt too much so for the last several years I have carried an Astra Constable on my hip and/or a Ruger LCP in my pocket and a CZ 83 in my car.
  8. Mine is the Broomhandle Mauser...why? I grew up with a Dad that was constantly gun trading and one of my duties was to clean the guns. I saw heaps of firearms come and go but for some reason I was intrigued by the Broomhandle Mausers. I saw 45s, I saw Lugers, but the Broomhandle had this sort of mysticism to it. I now own two and I'm a happy puppy.
