  1. I use the Hornady sonic cleaner, and a FA dryer. I resize and decap first and then can clean about 1000 9mm at one time. Total cleaning time is about 2-2-1/2 hours.
  2. Thanks for the replies, folks. I received my DL renewal also(both due in Jan/18). Seems all the DL dept wants is my money, I guess they don't care so much how I look.
  3. I just received my HCP renewal notice in the in the mail. Previoulsy, I always renewed on line or via mail. This time the notice tells me that I am required to have a new photo, and to appear at a Driver Service Center to renew my permit. Has anyone else had this notice? Nothing at all has changed as far as name, address etc. Just curious, because I haven't had to do this in the past.
  4. Does anyone use the Inline Fabrication System for mounting your reloading presses and other gear?
  5. I have a Kimber Custom II and am looking for a full size 45acp poly frame. I have a potential trade for a Beretta Px4 storm in 45 acp. I am leaning on doing the deal, but have never fired the Beretta. Any comments pro or con would be appreciated. Thanks
  6. Is there any one or place locally who does Luger appraisals? I have had one for a number of years and due to several recent surgeries, I may be forced to sell it. It is a Mauser Banner dated 1942. Everything matches with the exception of the magazine. It is in very good condition (barely a little pitting, no rust) and I have the original hard holster with which it was issued. I have no paper work on it, but it was liberated from a Czech POW in 1942. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. I have the 22A and am considering selling it and going for the Victory. Has anyone handled both? Nothing wrong with the 22A, but I do like the feel of the Victory and its stainless construction. Any thoughts or input will be appreciated
  8. Just bought Remington 36gr LR; 525/brick for under $30. Limit is one, but they have them this morning.
  9. Does anyone have an interest in a Savage 1907 pistol? I have had one for years, even shot it a few times quite a while ago, and at my age would have a serviceable pistol rather than a collectable. No rust on it, grips are excellent hard rubber and the barrel is very clean. I am a benefactor here and may offer it for sale if there is any interest in it. It is of far better use to someone who collects than just sitting in my safe. Thoughts? Comments?
  10. Has anyone been to the National Gun Day show in Louisville? I understand it's a big show with over 1600 tables, Thoughts or comments please
  11. I am just about at the falling out stage with AT&T as my phone/internet provider and I eliminated Comcast years ago. Can anyone tell me of a High speed/broadband service in the Nashville area that you are satisfied with?  I am looking for internet only. Any suggestions or information is appreciated.
  12. Did you get your data from a published source?
  13. Looking in th 8th edition of the Hornady manual, it lists  for 38 special as follows: 140gr XTP (#35740) Unique 4.2gr/750 fps, 4.7 gr/800 fps and 5.2gr/850 fps. all with C.O.L. of 1.450"   Hope this helps
  14. Has anyone ever reloaded or have any knowledge (good or bad) of ARMSCOR bullets?
  15. Something I've done in the past; mount the press and powder measure to a 2x6 about 2' long and c clamp it on a table or counter top. Pretty cheap way to go and works well
  16. Thanks Volzfan...I went there, met Joel and Mike and did a deal. Great folks to work with.
  17. I know that there knowledgeable folks in many areas on this forum. Does anyone have any idea on how to sell or anyone locally (Nashville area) who can tell me what a misprinted $1 dollar bill is worth. It is uncirculated with the seals and serial numbers on the back over the normal printing. I understand that our currency is printed on the back, the front and a third printing on the front. On this bill the third printing is on the back, leaving a blank space on the front where the above features should have been printed. Thanks for looking and offering any help that you can,
  18. I bought a sonic cleaner at Harbor Freight a while back ($49/$29 with the coupon I had). It does clean brass well, but as stated earlier limited quantities and all the drying process were a bit too time consuming for my liking. I just accumulate my brass and set a timer for about 4 hours in the tumbler. The sonic is ideal for parts and even jewelry.
  19. It seems that I heard or read that the square rachet is plastic because the housing is plastic also. If it were rigid metal, it would strip the housing. If you bring it up halfway (past the spiral) you can turn the turret with no problem and will not damage the rachet.
  20. I just got the powder cop die. I understand the mechanics of it and the set up, but packaged with it is a white plastic "finger cone" (I can't think of anything else to call it). I have looked at a lot of videos and reviews on this die and no where do I find any reference to this mystery cone. Does anyone know what its function is? The die seems to function perfectly well without it.
  21. I am going to load .45 cal Auto Rim rounds using 200 gr Hornady XTP. The only data I can find even close is from the Speer #14 manual and it is for 200 gr GDHP. Realizing that Speer is a plated bullet and Hornady a jacketed bullet; would using this data on XTP (low end to start) be okay, given that they are the same profile and weight? Appreciate any info on this or any 45 AR load data you would like to pass along. Thanks a load, Bill
  22. I'm still fairly new to reloading, and am curious if there is any appreciatable difference in HBRN and FBRN loading. Both plated and 230 gr 45 ACP.
  23. The day after Christmas I slipped on ice, the result was a broken ankle and am using a wheelchair (manual) to get around. Can anyone render any advice on a method of carry? After researching, I am probably going with a fanny/waiste pack. I would appreciate hearing any other ideas from the forum.
  24. Cudos to 56 FordGuy!!!!! You did indeed inspire me. I tapped very slowly, back into the case. Cylinder open, pulled the round and sure enough no powder charge, or at least not enough to leave the end of the barrel. Problem solved, barrel looks good and all is well. Many thanks for giving me reason to think to even consider it.
