OK, I have to ask the dumb question. Have you used the FTX in 300BO loads? FTX is what I run in my 30-30. The 300 likes heavier bullets and sub-sonic loads but it's fun with lighter bullets.

No FTX but I sure do use the SST in 125 and 110gr-

Another bullet I found to work exceptionally well in .300bo is the Speer TNT in 125gr-

I also suggest that you buy ammo in bulk to save money. But be aware that right now most of the good Mil-surp stuff has dried up. If you do find some, make sure the headstamp bears the NATO cross on it. There's been some real garbage imported in the last few years including some fake Chinese junk bearing false headstamps. Do your research.  🙄

I reload all my ammo that I can-

The trick is to find enough casings to start out-

I already load for .300BO  and 30-30 so I have quite a lot of .308 bullets-

I think a lot is going to depend on what happens in November. If Joe gets another term, gun sales are going to skyrocket as will prices. If you want one, now may be the best time to do so.

But if you buy also consider going ahead and buying extra mags, ammo and accessories as they will also be going up if Joe wins.

7.62X51 - turning cover into concealment for almost 70 years. 😁

Yup-went ahead and ordered a Ruger SFAR in .308-

Now all the goodies that have  to go with it-

I have taken the position over the past few years that if I think I might want it or need it in the future, I get it as soon as possible without paying a premium due to demand.  I figure, if I end up not wanting it or needing it, I can sell it (though this may get more difficult due to the increasing BS).  Prices probably won't go down in the future especially with inflation and even if I take a little hit selling it, it was worth it.

I believe we should all take this position with things like parts, magazines and other accessories as well.  People often forget about what it takes to keep something running after they purchase it.

    I agree 100%-

I have enough parts to keep my AR15's going for some time-

But my Wife say's to go ahead and get it if I want-so there is that-

I may just buy one just so I put my anxiety to bed-

I guess a .308 is almost a perfect caliber for most any use up to including medium game hunting-

  5. So-How worried should a person be about the ability to purchase any type of semi-auto in the foreseeable future-

I would like an AR10 .308 but purchasing one now would be a look into the future-

I really don't have a need for something in this range considering I already have a nice Glenfield 30AS in 30-30-

What does the collective have to pontificate on this subject-

Inquiring minds want to know-well it's me actually-

I went thru this about 2 years ago. My dentist had a sub working that week, but he got me in that first day, just to do nothing for me. Told me to take aspirin. 2 days later it was killing me, had to sleep in a chair cuz laying down made it a lot worse. Finally found an 'emergency' weekend dental clinic in Johnson City, but they dont pull teeth-lol. At least they gave me some antibiotics and pain meds. The dentist at the clinic offered to have me come in to her own private practice where she pulled the tooth and stopped the pain-lol. And she is still my dentist now.

But why is it these days that a dentist will send you to a different guy to pull a tooth? Is that like Dentristry 101?

I went thru this very thing a few years ago now-

    Dentist will not pull teeth-

I had to go to a dental surgeon more than once before I had all my problems pulled at once-

I may have to gum the crap out of everything but never worry about tooth aches-

It was almost every time we travelled a tooth would act up and it's almost useless trying to find a dentist when your from somewhere else-

I believe you are wrong on that part. I've never read or been told that constitutional rights only apply to citizens. I only know it from the criminal side, such as the 4th Amendment expectation of privacy applies regardless. I'm interested to see how this plays out; it may lead to some bigger SCOTUS decisions later.

I am referring to the 2ND only-

If the 2ND does then why is the question of legal residency even on the 4473 questionnaire-

  8. Until fairly recently I carried a Kimber Ultra in .45 or .9mm-

I have been carrying a Sig P365X for nearly a year now and really like it-

Lighter in weight and with the RDS it makes accuracy very good-

Of coarse there is always the caliber wars-

  9. Working at the old Range USA I had the task of keeping 4 different full auto firearms working-

I found out that there is lots of mechanical differences in the actions and mechanics-

The fastest rate of fire we had was a Glock with a buzz switch owned by an ex state trooper-

We had an HK MP5 that when working was kind of a hoot-

None of these weapons could even be compared to anything with a bump stock-

It's completely in the action and if these so called experts would actually do their home work it would be wonderful-

SCOTUS justices mostly are college educated about paper work and probably cant figure out how a pair of scissors work-so everything has to be explicitly explained-
