I was at Subway last night and as I backed out I saw their sign, so I Googled them and found this thread. Then out of curiousity, I went by this afternoon and they have actually been open a few days. I walked away with a Galco Jackass rig for my SP-101 at an insane price.... Check them out.

I have an older Pro Tactical II 4" (the one in my avatar pic) that I picked up used from a friend for much less than $1000. I put CTC grips on it and carry it. I've put about 200 rounds through it and haven't had a FTE or FTF. I love the way it feels in the hand and it's action. I also have a GP-100 and I'd recommend it, but I've found I'm more accurate with the Kimber. If you can find one at a reasonable price they're great, but I wouldn't pay $1300 for it. There are quality weapons to be had at a better price. Of course, your mileage may vary...

About five months ago, on a Monday I was denied a gun purchase based on the background check and my HCP came in the mail two days later on Wednesday! Needless to say I was surprised... I guess I was okay to carry a gun I just couldn't buy one. Ha! So I filed the appeal form and the denial was finally overturned and purchase approved (a Colt WWII Commemorative 1911), but I thought the timing was kinda' funny, especially considering I'd passed numerous background checks for gun purchases in previous years and had been in no trouble of any kind, so had no change in my background stats. You never know what's going on with a bureaucracy...
