Picked this up a couple of months ago to see what the hype with the brand was all about and put about 100 rounds through it. It's a perfectly functional 1911, turns out I just don't want to stock yet another caliber for only one gun. The gun itself is the "upgraded" 1911A1 version with better sights and a commander's ring hammer instead of the standard spur. Comes with an actually pretty nice hard case, two mags, takedown tool, and other little bits and bobs inside. $350 FTF in the Nashville area, no trades please. Edit: I will also be traveling to Memphis 3/14-15 if anyone around there is interested.

Put another 250 FMJ through it today with maybe 2 FTFeeds that were by the same magazine (Mec-Gar makes excellent mags for everything except compact 9mm 1911s apparently, these are the worst ones I have). Tried some Federal HSTs that quickly jammed, and bought some 135gr Critical Duty flex tip since they have a longer COAL than the 115s. They fed the first 5 ok from a Nighthawk magazine but jammed on the 6th, other mags didn’t get that far. It’s also shooting a few inches left at 10 yards, verified by multiple shooters from a rest. I put in a service request with the manufacturer so hopefully a stint in the gun hospital will cure what ails it.

Italian made Beretta .380. DA/SA, this version has the safety only no decocker. Italian police surplus marked for the Guardia di Finanza (basically Italy's version of Treasury Agents). Two 3-round magazines, one surplus one purchased new from Beretta. A bit of honest holster wear but in great mechanical shape. $500 FTF in the Nashville area, no trades please.

As for mags, Wilson makes the absolute best .45acp mags. But their 9mm/38 Supers are just so-so. I suggest Metalform mags. They make the Colt factory mags and I've found nothing better for 9mm/38 Super. Completely reliable.
From what I've seen the ramp there is pretty close to spec, there should be at least a 1/32" gap between the feed ramp and barrel throat to avoid any potential overhang.
This thing came with one Metalform magazine and I bought two more that have a built in feed ramp that they make for Springfield. I also have a couple of Mec-Gars that took a lot of effort to load more than three rounds into. I'm going to order a Wilson ETM just to cover all my bases but I'm pretty close to sending an angry email to Mr Fusion.

I've had a desire for a CCO-style 1911 in the back of my mind for a long time, but it wasn't like a pressing need so I never really looked into getting one. Cut to last month when I decided I'd treat myself to something for my birthday, only to discover that my Right Now options were either a used Dan Wesson on gunbroker or an Ed Brown for $lol. There were also a few stock photo ads on GB for these Fusion pistols, which I wasn't familiar with at the time. I guess the guy who used to run Dan Wesson left and started his own company making 1911 parts and eventually whole guns. I wasn't going to take a chance on a gunbroker ad with a single manufacturer-provided photo, luckily a local shop offered them for order on their version of that sales website every other gun store seems to use.
The Good:
The pistol comes in a big nylon range bag with one mag, a bushing tool, and an extra (lighter?) recoil spring. Inside the big bag, the pistol is wrapped in a plastic bag covered in more oil than I've used to fry chicken.
Build quality is great, very solid. Slide to frame fit is tight but very slick with no binding, the thumb safety has a very tactile click to engage/disengage but isn't difficult to do either direction, it just feels good. The frame and slide both are milled out of steel so it's pretty heavy for a smaller gun which helps tame the mighty 9mm recoil. The front strap is also sharply checkered and the trigger guard slightly undercut which are a nice touch for what is ultimately an inexpensive brand.
Fusion builds these with Series 70 internals so no firing pin safety. The trigger is pretty good; little to no noticeable takeup, crisp break, short reset. My cheapo digital trigger guage measured a pretty consistent ~4lbs right out of the box. I'll take it. This was the first 50 rounds I put through it after I cleaned all the shipping oil out of it. See if you can spot which hole is from me being surprised by the light trigger and sending the first shot prematurely
The Bad:
This thing refuses to feed any type of hollowpoint. It has a non ramped barrel, and even if it will strip the first round from a full mag the next will get hung up. I've tried multiple different types of magazines including some that were recommended with a built in "feed ramp" (really just a little lip on the front to help guide the round) and multiple different ammo brands all to no avail. Ball ammo hasn't given me any problems over a couple hundred rounds but defensive ammo is a no go, which is kind of an issue for what was intended to be a carry gun. I've got an assortment of recoil springs to swap out, in a day or two I should have a magazine catch delivered that will seat the mags a little higher than standard, and I'm going to have to try the Wilson mags everybody raves about. After that, it's going back to the factory.Final Thoughts:
For ~$800, this is a pretty good range gun. Accurate, low felt recoil, good trigger. Want a defensive gun? Save up for something better.-

I went the opposite route and got a 43 frame to put my 48 slide on, in my experience the grip is the hard part to conceal. If you’re having comfort issues with the longer slide I’d try a different holster or even just how high you wear your pants.
Phlster has a whole series of videos about comfort and concealment that don’t just apply to their products, I’d check them out before dropping a couple hundred bucks on a new slide.

This is the 10mm long boy with a Holosun 507C circle-dot mounted. Glockbox, 3 mags, MOS plates and instructions, and the Holosun box and accessories are all included. I'll try to find the extra backstraps as well, but if this thing is too small for your hands another 2-4mm of girth isn't going to help. Extremely soft shooting for a 10mm, the long slide soaks up a ton of recoil.
Cash price is $750 but I'm mostly interested in trading for a 1911. Specifically an Officer, Commander, and especially a CCO-sized 9mm but .45 isn't a dealbreaker and I can add cash on my end for the right gun. Not really looking for full sized guns but let me know what you have, maybe we can make a deal.

Picked this up for a KP-15 polymer lower before doing my due diligence to see if it would fit. It does not. $150 FTF/shipped/dead dropped

I picked up the lower and have hit my first snag: the CMC trigger unit I got doesn't fit due to the way it's shaped or something. Trigger's going in the classifieds if anybody's interested.

I don't particularly feel strongly one way or another about AR-style rifles. I've built, and shortly thereafter sold, a few over the years because they just don't do anything special for me. Brownell's currently has the KE Arms polymer lowers on sale, and since they are potentially being sued into oblivion by a hostile entity, my terrible friend Jim Beam convinced me the other night that I needed one before they're gone. Now I have a lower on the way with no idea of what to turn it in to. I have a 5.56 AK so the obvious choice would be a 5.56 AR, but that's what I always get bored of relatively quickly. My other issue is that other than maybe once or twice a year on a buddy's land, all of my shooting tends to be at an indoor range. I know a relatively short rifle can be accurate/effective out to a few hundred yards but if I'm mostly just putting holes in a paper target 25yds away max I don't see the need for a 22" Precision Sniper Weapons System. My current plan is a .300BLK SBR, but because I don't want the ATF to kill my dog I'm not going to order that upper until the Form 1 is approved so I have 1-5 months to be convinced to do something else. Given a blank canvas other than Fixed Stock Lower, what would you build?

Somebody on another forum mentioned recently that they found G43 frames for sale for their compact build, and I read somewhere that the G48/43x slides would fit and function on the 43 frame; also Shield Arms released their 9 round 43 magazine, just in time for me to decide that that the 48 slide/43 frame combo would make a good summer carry choice. So for only the cost of the G43 frame, shipping, transfer, 2 OEM mags to use while I waited for the Shield mags to restock, 2 Shield mags and a metal mag release, I ended up with a gun that is maybe 1/4" shorter than the G48 and holds 6 less rounds

I have a 48 that I carry almost daily with Shield Arms mags and love it. I think the 43x is the more popular choice but personally I don’t see the appeal of a full size grip with a short barrel. I do however really like the “single stack” Glock frame, I shoot them better than any of the larger-framed glocks I’ve owned.
