I will still be in Franklin County pretty often. That's where the in- laws live. This site will most likely stay my most visited....I've learned a lot about water moccasins and bigfoot on here.

We went to a Bama football game last fall, and couldn't believe the amount of damage in Tuscaloosa. Stores that we used to use as landmarks were completely gone.

I am leaving TN to be close to my daughter, I was just fortunate to find a job that allowed me to do that.

Being closer to Tuscaloosa is one of the pros of the move

Been in the Memphis area for 11 months. The drive to see my daughter is just too much. It's kind of funny really because prior to moving here I said I would never live near Memphis...My wife said she would never live near Cullman, Al because that's where she received her one and only speeding ticket. If nothing else I've learned to never say never.

After living in Tennessee for the duration of my life, I will be moving to Alabama in the next few weeks. I received the job offer today and plan on accepting it in the morning. One of my daughters, 6 years old, lives in Madison with her mom and my goal has been to get as close to her as possible. The job is in Cullman, and we plan on living in the Hartselle area. My wife and other children are excited about moving. Lord willing we will be there until the kids have all graduated from high school. Other than the state income tax that Bama has I see no cons to this move.

I keep my head shaved as well. In the last 15 years I've never gone more than 3-4 weeks without shaving it.

I grow my goatee out at least once a year. The last time I went 4-5 months and it was around 4 1/2inches long.

Wow, that's awesome!!! I work on the lower end of plastic manufacturing, process tech/supervision, and must say it's one the better industries to be in.

I've only been here just under a year and my family and I really like it. To hear the folks on this site, you may as well walk through the gates of hell before even thinking of going to Memphis. One of the main reasons I don't frequent this site as much as I used to is because of all the childish bickering over who is right and who is wrong on any number of topics.

I live just north of Memphis, and it's not as bad as the folks on this site try to make it out to be. Just like any other town or city you have to use common sense and avoid the problematic areas.

It took me 8 months to get mine back in late 2010/early 2011.

As a lifelong Bama fan, I must say that I won't be happy unless Bama wins big. If they win a close game all the talk will be about split champions, and if they lose the talk will be about how they didn't deserve to be in the game in the first place. I was upset when Colt McCoy got hurt in their last championship because if they did end up winning all the naysayers would say it only happened because he wasn't in the game. Unfortunately that is exactly what was said after Bama did win it!!!

I had a set on a Silverado I used to own......Between my cousin and I(he bought the truck from me) we probably put 70k miles on them with no problems.

Well it's been over 2 months and I'm still alive. I will say that I haven't been "downtown" yet and don't plan on going any time soon. I'm having no long luck selling my house back in Estill Springs, so if any of you know anyone who is looking to rent in that area please let me know. 4 br, 3 bath, just over an acre of land and 1 mile from Tims Ford lake. Also, I'm needing a place to rent out here. Preferably in the Arlington or Atoka/Munford areas. We have looked at several, but haven't committed to anything. This seeing my family every other week crap is driving me crazy, so we are looking to get them out the weekend of Thanksgiving....

I may take you up on that. It's getting kind of old being out here alone.

This will the first weekend that I'm here without my family.........they came out 2 weeks ago and last week I went back home. If anyone wants to get together for something to eat or a few beers shoot me a pm. I'd like to check out the airshow this weekend, but really don't want to go alone!!

I had just got off work and turned on 99.7 WTN out of Nashville. They still thought it was an accident at this time, but we all soon found out it was much more. I spent the day at my girlfriend's, now my wife, watching and wondering what the hell was going on.

Well it's been 2 weeks and so far so good. After going out and looking at houses when time allows, probably 20 plus in a few days, I'm pretty sure that we will end up in the Atoka/Munford area. We found a house we really like in south Tipton county that actually has a Millington address. Are any of you familiar with this area? How about the Munford schools? My wife has done her research and Munford schools seem to have the best reviews with the exception of the Arlington schools. What about jobs for my wife? She has worked at our local credit union for 6 years in records retention so a bank/credit union may be a good option. For those of you who offered to help me learn the area and maybe get together for a meal I will be in contact with you once I get on my set shift in another week or two.

I have been looking at houses/land in that area online. My wife wants to stay in Arlington, but I prefer to not stay in Shelby County.
