  1. I would tend to stay away from buying range rentals with unknown round counts, but worth asking if anyone has any experience in that area. Anyone work at a range with rentals or know the average round count or time in service before a range sells off a pistol? Reasons a range would sell a rental? Maybe it never gets rented? How much discount off new price?
  2. Many of them DID have red flags though, the problem is like you said, those red flags don't end up on a NICS background check, they aren't reported to law enforcement, or law enforcement/mental health professionals/school counsellors/staff/etc fail to follow up/investigate/report/take action. There's a fine line with regard to things that could/should raise an actionable red flag. It would be interesting to see some data on individuals who have been, for lack of a better term, red flagged. Whether that's in a state with red flag laws, or by some other action that resulted in potential prevention of shooting vs innocent stripped of rights.
  3. M&P .40 gen 1. Looking for a P365 though. and any random knife from the collection because I can never decide
  4. Hey bud, I have an S&W M&P 22 with a bunch of extra mags, like 10 i think. very low round count I think under 100. Bought it, plinked a little, deployed, then contracted in Afghanistan for 7 years. Time to switch things up. Also have kind of an unusual Beretta U22 Neos pistol with the carbine conversion kit and a bunch of magazines. Neat little gun. *Hope this doesn't violate new kid rules*
  5. ok fair enough, you're saying as a result of the tax on sales from dealers the overall value will rise for private sales. I didn't consider that.
  6. except that the tax doesn't go to you, it goes to the gov... It won't pass anyway. They are all just talking for the sake of votes and "virtue signaling." They know virtually none of their proposals will pass the senate.
  7. yikes man, I'm pretty sure you are completely screwed. That rifle is notorious for being unreliable (most attribute that to the magazines). It's also a rifle that generally can't be sold for more than like 30$. As far as I know there are no other compatible magazines. The rifle was dropped pretty quickly and replaced by the 597.
  8. I'm still carrying an M&P 1.0 in .40 (with crimson trace red laser grip and "lightguard" but I'm looking for a P365xl romeo zero and/or a standard P365.
  9. How long have you had this? Do you happen to know the round count?
  10. It's going to be a good while before this rifle and cartridge actually replace all current service rifles. There are still national guard units carrying converted M16 A1s. I kind of feel like this won't end up in every soldiers hand. But that is a good point to ponder. what effect will this have on the civilian market as far as rifle ammo and chamberings. The new cartridge is around 80,000 psi or something? Civilian available ammo looks to be significantly lighter loads with all brass cases. No matter what it's going to be an expensive supply chain. Thats a lot of pressure.
  11. Grip angle is a common complaint for the anti-glock people. I tend to prefer most other pistols over glock. Maybe some of that is just to be a contrarian, but also I find them crude, ugly, and frankly not very comfortable. I gravitate toward S&W M&P and Sig p226 for pistols.
  12. the "tactical" levergun is something for a particular generation and if there's a market for it in a different demographic then all the better for it... I tend to agree with most here though, in preferring a more traditional levergun.
  13. Probably going to sound a little goofy, but I have one of the "hard chromed" Gen1s and want to check some parts compatibility... If I send mine in to get the "gen 2 upgrade" from what they told me on the phone they will just destroy my gun and send me a new gen 2 in black. I'd rather not lose the rare 2 tone.
  14. Spent the past 7 years in Afghanistan... right up to the closure. I've been back in the U.S. for a year-ish now. Spent some time in Florida with family before moving back to Murfreesboro. Now I'm looking for some local gun/knife/gadget dorks like me. I have a healthy appreciation for classic firearms, but am more drawn toward new and unusual designs.
