    sling recomendations?

    Viking Tactics VTAC Padded.   I use a couple of small loops of paracord to attach to the rifle (quiet and simple).

    Cable Cutters Enter

    I bought one of the channelmaster dvr+ boxes last December and cut the cable.  You can save a few bucks by buying the base unit and buying your own portable hard drive for storage.  I have been satisfied so far.  I am saving $115+ a month and still have the convinience of a dvr.  I can stream or buy content that I might be missing.

    Tax Software.

    Taxact free version for the past several years.  When I first started using it, I compared it side by side with Turbotax and H&R Block for a couple of years.  Results were to write a check to the IRS for the same amount each time.

    Have any of you cut your cable?

    I dropped cable just after thanksgiving 2014 (saving $115 per month).  At first I missed having cable, but after about a month I have found more that enough programming.  I use a channel master DVR+ for over the air HD recording (2 tuners).  I also use an older laptop with HDMI output and a long cord to the TV to stream from the internet.  I get around 20 channels over the air.

    Broken screw. Best plan of action?

    If you have access to a drill press, try a left handed drill bit that is smaller than the tap drill size for the screw.  Use low rpm counter clockwise and a soft touch.  Many times the drill will catch and back the screw out.  If not then this hole can be used with an easy out.
  8. Thanks...   This made me more comfortable about placing an order.
  9. I am thinking of getting a Spyderco Military w/ combo edge for EDC. The stated blade length is 4" but I am curious if anyone has measured it just to make sure before I order one.   Thanks...

    1/2 BY 28 thread

    I have picked up AR15 threaded muzzle brakes for a few dollars before to use as thread protectors.

    Cleaning suppressors

    I have not tried it, but I have heard of using an ultrasonic cleaner on suppressors (even sealed ones).

    M&P 15-22?

    I bought mine a while back and it came with the flash hider. I had some help removing the flash hider when I got it. We wrapped the barrel in leather and put it in a vise. Applied heat to the flash hider with a propane torch and removed it. This rifle is loads of fun with a suppressor.

    EOTech = Outstanding Customer Service

    I bought a new 512 several years ago and broke it a few weeks after the purchase. It was my fault (I bent the battery compartment latch all the way forward and cracked it). I contacted customer service, explained what I did, and asked to purchase a new one. They mailed out two new levers and a couple of roll pins at no charge (just in case I did it again). Excellent customer service.
