  1. I've got that book, really great reading!
  2. I can attest to this! I've had a Taurus 605 revolver for years, for about the first box of ammo was with the factory wood grips...it was brutal. Changed the grips to a set of Hogue and it helped immensely. At one time Taurus had a deal going that they would port the barrel and do an action job for $50.00, I couldn't resist. When I got the revolver back I was literally stunned. The porting did a lot to help tame the recoil and the action job they did was outstanding! That little 605 has a dbl & single action trigger that I would stack up to any revolver, absolutely like glass, I've owned Pythons that weren't as impressive.
  3. Howdy, any marks or scratches on the Hogue wood grips?
  4. Texas Rangers circa 1907, that's Frank Hamer on the top left with his 1894 Winchester. Along with police officers from Louisiana and Texas, Hamer was the man that brought down Bonnie & Clyde. The man sitting bottom right with the Luger is John H. Rogers, the man that hired Hamer into the Rangers. Hamer used a Remington model 8 chambered in .35 Remington in the roadside ambush of Bonnie & Clyde.
  5. I really cannot pick just one favorite... I can say that pretty much no matter what new gun toy I drag home it usually ends up in the safe after two weeks or so and I am carrying my Gen 3 Glock 19 again..which btw has a shiny new Olight PL-3 on it (couldn't pass up the deal at Christmas)!

Yeah the Walmart special is going to be mine if I can get back over there quickly and it's still there! With all the extras already on there I'd just as soon get it as I'll be spending at least as much if I get the Mk II FV-SR. Already have plans for the stock if the green doesn't grow on me, I've done a few stocks before. Actually just got through doing one for my neighbor on an unloved Lakefield 64B (Canadian Savage 64B copy) he ended up inheriting. I'm not great at it but at least they look better than they did before I started! Everyone knows that Zombie Green .22's are the most accurate anyway...
  7. In both of my large safes I use a small dehumidifier and two of the Eva-Dry renewables.Overkill...indeed...rust anywhere, no..! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KF6Y19V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H0XFCS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yes, .22LR. I've also been coming really close to pulling the trigger (pun intended!) on a Savage Mk II FV-SR.

I did handle one at the store, it checks all the boxes for what I've been looking for...yep, I'll probably be back over there...without the wife!

May have posted that in the wrong place...apologies if I did...
  11. Apparently this is a Walmart special, some deal between Savage and Walmart. Anyone have one of these? Seriously might have to splurge and get one, should make a nice suppressor host! Maybe the green would grow on me...
  12. I've carried one of these for years, excellent lights!
