  1. I love it when you go to register your boat, their website actually says, it's not a fee but a contribution hmmmmm
  2. Thanks @FUJIMO My collection is not large, I have my daily tools handily stored in other ways. This will be for those not at the ready but need them out of the closet I'm really liking the small'ish to start and add when needed vs. buying bigger now and trying to find a place to hide it and keep the WAF on the high side Rick
  3. Yes @Dawg1998, my wife and I started having this conversation last night after reading the thread above about such an approach... in fact, it might actually allow me to have a smaller safe downstairs where a large one wouldn't go or wouldn't be allowed...
  4. Dang, back reading this topic again... I need a safe, don't want it in the garage due to heat/humidity No place to put it downstairs that 1. will fit, 2. the wife will accept so my only real option is upstairs Opinions on a 600lb safe upstairs... not the moving part, just that much weight on the second floor In my case, it could be loaded on or adjacent to an exterior wall which is load bearing so that is good Thanks, Rick
  5. IMO, if the most Anti gun state in the union, CA sees it as trespassing, then why can't we as a much more free state How about golf coarse or other venues where outside alcohol is prohibited yet you can buy alcohol inside... I don't believe you can be prosecuted with a crime unless you refuse to leave with your booze, IANAL and could very well be wrong Busting a sign shouldn't be a crime, not leaving when asked to, OK get popped for trespassing
  6. I was there just before Christmas and didn't see the sign either... Are all the other Mall entrances properly posted as well? Since I have only ever been there once and only through BPS... curious minds need to know
  7. A few months ago, my wife got distracted by the dog, swerved to the right and clipped the mailbox She stopped, got out, picked up a few pieces, got back in and drove off to the vet Came home told me about "attacking" the mailbox and the car lost I walked down the street and introduced myself, he told me he heard it happen, saw her picking up pieces then driving away, thought it was on him to fix his mailbox With 2 sets of pliers, I was able to straighten it out so it worked again, he was happy, I was happy... sort of New mirror for the Subaru Forester, nearly $300
  8. @Darrell, the likely reason he couldn't buy the 380 ammo is he doesn't have a firearm registered with CFARS in that caliber. No need to register all firearms, just one then the bkgd should go through (barring other legal reasons) Dumb, Yes but hey, it's CA... I lived there until last June, so glad I got out of there Good luck
  9. Quick update... Received my approval today, states a copy must be carried with you while carrying... it's 2 pages 8.5x11. Guess I'm going to be carrying an electronic copy, my wallet is not big enough. So you can carry on the lakes and land around the lakes but can't go into the visitors center or ranger station... we trust you to carry but not around us SMH Better than being rejected Be safe out there
  10. Hello all, PSA... I went fishing a couple of weeks ago and stopped in to the welcome center at Bledsoe Creek State Park to get some info on fishing... Upon entering the building I noticed a No Firearms Permitted sign so I asked about it. She told me, even though it's a state park and CCW is permitted, this state part it's under the authority of the USACE and Open/CCW is not permitted. Can be locked up in car but not on you. I asked her if there is a way to get permissions and she said yes to contact the Nashville branch office and make the request, they only handle requests for the waters under their authority. 2-3 emails later, here's what I know, email your request to their office of your desire to CCW on all land/waters under the authority of USACE, provide a photo copy of front/back of your TN state issued ECP and they will process the request. Once granted (should be several days per the very helpful gentlemen I have been emailing with), a copy must be carried with you at all times, permission is for CCW only, NO open carrying allowed ever, permission is valid for the duration of your state issued permit... All in all, a very good experience even if it seems redundant and a waste of time, but free none the less Good luck Send email request and a copy of your TN State issued ECP (both sides) to: chief.public-affairs@usace.army.mil
  11. I was born and raised in San Diego and he is affectionately known as St. Benitez. Great Constitutionalist and gets his rulings right. Now to see what the 9th will do since we have won at every level except for the 9th when it was there last...
  12. My son got me a Kore Essentials for Christmas, LOVE it. It's a dress belt style so perfect for a suit... After 8 months of carrying every day, it's still looks and feels new Good luck with your decision
  13. I too enjoy flow charts It's been over a year since the last post, are there other changes that need to be made? Since having just moved to Tennessee, always looking for current info and this is a great primer Thanks, Rick
  14. Thanks for the input, it does help In CA, the DMV is OK to carry (not here), baseball stadiums like Petco Park are not (Sounds stadium in Nashville no), Zoos yes. Banks yes... so it goes beyond schools, jails, courthouse and post offices... What about medical buildings/clinics, are they governed by signage? Library? Churches? How about a Church that also teaches school? Historical buildings/museums... Not trying to be difficult here, just trying to learn my way around this great state Thanks, Rick
  15. When I obtained my CCW in CA (San Diego specifically), I used a simple chart to help with where I could carry and where I couldn't carry... I also reference sites such as Handgunlaw.us and other similar sites but they don't cover a lot of stuff Yes, the laws are there, however I am not a lawyer and trying to interpret them is mind boggling, convoluted and at times seems circular I realize that different cities also have different laws but a starting point would be better than nothing Does such a thing exist here in Tennessee? Thanks, Rick
