  1. What kind of holster? I like the look of it. Is the belt hook plastic or metal?
  2. In my experience the desoto show is alot smaller and much less crowded but I enjoy it all the same
  3. I ordered a 5.11 belt from expresspolicesupply.com yesterday for $38... It should arrive in the next day or two
  4. Congrats G-pa Glynn, I have both the PPS and the G27 as my EDC's. The PPS is older and I absolutely love the pistol. It is incredibly accurate, thin, and easy to conceal. I honestly forget I have it most of the time. I can't recommend the PPS enough. I got the Glock last week - Nick at Tommy Bronsons Sporting Goods hooked me up with a sweet deal that I couldn't pass up. I bought it to be a glove box gun but I'm having a hard time not carrying it. It is the best shooting gun that I've ever gotten right out of the box. I got the Pearce +1 for one mag and the +2 for the other as well as a G23 mag. I'm only 400 rounds into it so far but I'm loving it. I just ordered a Ameriglo front night sight (Planning on leaving the OEM glock on the rear). I've caught the glock fever. Like I said, congrats on both - you are going to love em. B18hybridhatch, my G27 was LNIB and I paid a lil over $450 out the door.
  5. I have a PM40 as well as the PPS40 - I like the PPS better of the two. The PPS is much smoother and easier to hang on to. I realize that the 9's probably have less kick than my 40's. The PPS is my EDC and my wife carries the PM40 (although she really doesn't like to shoot it)

    Glock 27

I know whatcha mean Tnhawk, I started out with a Sig and had a snobbish attitude about Glocks. If I'd ever told anyone what I thought, I'd be eating my words right about now. I love my lil ole 27. My Sig P239 is about the same size but only holds 8 shots. The Glock (with the pearce +2) holds 12. Its just about the perfect size and I really appreciate the expandability of the capacity with the interchangable magazines and pearce extensions.

    Glock 27

I got a 27 last week. I currently have an uncle mikes ankle holster, a Galco tuck n go, and I just ordered a supertuck. I bought the 27 to be my glovebox gun but I love it so much that I've really enjoyed carrying it and rarely leave it locked in the car. My normal carry piece is a Walther PPS - essentially a single stack version of my 27. I think that I'll go back to the PPS come warmer weather but the 27 is a fine pistol with an excellent capacity in such a small package. It is one of the best shooting pistols right out of the box that I've ever owned. I think my sip of the "koolaid" has got me addicted.
  8. I have the PPS 40 and love it. Its my EDC. Thin is in! Although... I got a pretty sweet deal on a Glock 27 today. I think that its going to be my glove box gun.
  9. I live in the Colonial Acres neighborhood. I love it and I feel safe. Memphis neighborhoods are on block by block situation. One end of a street can be perfect while the other end is something approaching a place where I wouldn't go at night. Check around... there's gonna be crime everywhere but there are plenty of good places to live in and around Memphis. My neighborhood is probably 15 minutes from midtown and the medical district FWIW
  10. Those M1014's are really f'n cool- I like ur collection!
  11. My XDm's magazines will occasionally rattle. All I do is smack it on my hand like I'm packing some cigarettes or something and the rattling stops.
  12. I have a XDM in .40. I've only carried it three or four days total due to the weight. I got a new belt and it helped somewhat but it was on days when I knew I'd have a coat on most of the time to help cover it. I love the pistol and its a dream to shoot but it might be a little big for me to carry daily. I'm 5'10" and about 200lbs. I have a small of the back holster that is adjustable that keeps the gun at a managable cant so it can be covered with a sweatshirt Most of the time, its just a whole lot easier to carry the Karh PM40 or the Walther PPS
  13. I can honestly say that I probably would have pulled my gun out after the first time he hit my car and seriously considered shooting once he hit the windshield considering that there was no way to drive away. A crowbar is a deadly weapon and I would have honestly feared for my life if a crazy man came and started beating on my vehicle while yelling and cussing for no apparent reason. That seems like a SHTF situation to me. I do not think that I would have waited until he got to the drivers side window. I might be WAY wrong - its just my honest opinion of how I would reacted. I would have feared for my life in that situation. I appreciate this discussion - its really causing me to think about some things
  14. I bought one from MphsTiger1981 (thanks... great guy to deal with) and I love it as a BUG. I've run about 100 rounds through it with no problem. It fits perfectly in my back pocket and is just about the first gun I feel comfortable carrying at work in dress slacks, a shirt, and tie. The trigger pull is long but... It serves a specific purpose for me and I'm very happy with it. Its primary function is a backup gun to my Sig p239 or my Walther PPS although the wife has sometimes carried it for grocery runs instead of her revolver due to the flatter profile. I say you should go for it. I looked at the Taurus but there seems to be a 50/50 shot of getting a good one. They seem to be working out some bugs still. I also considered the DB380 but saved the $$$ and am happy my Keltec.
  15. Inappropriate racial slur... although the guy doesn't deserve any respect we should respect everyone else by not using the words which might offend some people
  16. 31%... never would have guessed. I can't even remember the last time I was in a mall.
  17. An excess umbrella policy supplements the coverage provided by your homeowners policy.
  18. My class discussed prepaid legal... I don't think that you could get an insurance policy that would be of much good (I work at one of the larger insurance agencies in the state and I've never heard of such a thing) I'll dig out the prepaid info they gave out in my class if you want.

    DB380

I saw one of these at the gunshow a couple weeks ago. I'd never seen or heard of Diamondback so I didn't know what to think about it. It seems to me the guy was asking $400 for it. I'm interested in hearing anyone's first hand experience with it.
  20. Most insurance policies have internal limits for guns much in the same way that jewelry, furs, silverware, and monies are limited and separate from the personal property. I'm an independent insurance agent and most homeowners policies we sell limit the gun coverage from somewhere between $2000 and $5000 unless they are specifically scheduled or listed on a rider. These limits are a total available, not a limit per gun. Hope this helps... if anyone has any more questions, i will be happy to share what i know The ammunition will be covered under the regular personal property limit along with holsters and other gear.
  21. I bought a PM40 at the show last weekend WA55xx - placing it made at the very end of 05 or beginning of 06. It was filthy when I got it - I was on the way to the range so I attempted to shoot a couple magazines. The gun could not make it through five shots in a row without jamming. I took it home and cleaned it thoroughly and it still jams (although significantly less) It seems to have trouble properly seating the round around the third or fourth shot. I haven't decided my next course of action. I just wanted to give you my experience. So far my opinion is not a good one even though I really wanted to love this gun. Its significantly smaller than my Walther PPS and I was excited to have it for an ankle bug
  22. I've got an XD and an P239. I like the XD but I love the feel of the Sig. The XD holds more ammo and its a sweet shooter but I can't seem to want to ever carry it. I have a couple other small guns (PM40, Walther PPS, Taurus revolver) but the Sig P239 is my handsdown favorite.
