  1. Oh well. Thanks for the link to the toy store though. I didn't have this one.
  2. The governor sent me a form email this week so I don't mind sending one to him. Sent.
  3. Wecome Ray from a USAF vet and Army dad. Thanks for your service.
  4. Welcome and keep smiling!
  5. Contact made. Here's what I wrote: I read in the Tennessean that there was an effort being organized to circumvent the new firearms in restaurants law in the Nashville area. It concerns me that you would want to disregard the wishes of the majority of the people of Tennessee. Although the news media and the governor would have us believe otherwise, every poll I have seen on this topic clearly shows that the majority of the people support the carrying of firearms in restaurants. I don't understand the political motivation for this and wonder why you would want to drive business from your community. My wife and I both hold Tennessee Handgun Carry Permits and plan trips to Nashville at least twice each year to enjoy concerts or shows in local establishments. We don't drink alcohol in restaurants or bars and having a handgun has no bearing on that choice. We go for the food or the music. As we tend to stay in downtown hotels and walk to and from our destinations, our safety in Nashville has always been a concern. It appears that you want that to continue to be a concern. If I have a choice of visiting a city where I can feel safe by being armed or visiting a city where I feel exposed to criminal activity, I'll choose the city where I can go armed. I hope you will consider the consequences of this effort before enacting local laws that will make Nashville less attractive to potential vistors. Food and music are available in many cities throughout this state.
  6. Honesty is good and certainly you have made many excellent points. Just hate to have you keel over and lose your input.
  7. There is already a thread on this: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/2nd-amendment-issues/22283-poll-alert.html
  8. I wonder where Southerland was. He told me he was going to support the override.
  9. Easy Hex. I could loan you a blood pressure monitor. I beginning to feel concern for your health.
  10. Welcome from another in ETN
  11. I don't know how old you are but the day will likely come when the choice is in your pants, a public "terlet", or the seat of my car while trying to race home. I won't like it but I'll choose the public terlet. Then go home, take a shower and put on clean clothes. I guess I'd do that last part regardless of which of the three choices I made.
  12. Voted. Looks like we're losing ground but still leading 55/44.
  13. At the beginning of the WTNZ (WATE's "sister station") news they had a segment on the "guns in bars" veto being overriden. I thought they may mention the poll since they are "sister stations". No mention of the poll. There were several interviews. I didn't hear anything supporting carry in restaurants. One guy said he wouldn't eat in restaurant that allowed handguns. I guess he doesn't realize he's probably been sitting near people with guns in restaurants for years. He probably called all his friends to watch him on tv not understanding that he was making a fool of himself. Or more likely, his friends are all clueless as well.
  14. Welcome and thanks for your service.
  15. Hmmm. Strange things are afoot at WATE. I set my DVR to record tonight's news but since the NBA game is on the timing is probably questionable.
  16. I hadn't heard that one before but it sure fits.
  17. Looks like the poll is closed. 59/35/6 Handguns in restaurants win. 216 votes total. Good job!
  18. This sounds like a blast. And, it would be fun too. Going to make an effort to be there. I'll be the guy with a big grin.
  19. That's because you're 37. Give it another 15 years. You'll consider it every day. Everyday I get through is a great day. But you know, it's nice when somebody gets you to stop and think about it. Thanks Mike.357
  20. You should just not carry your phone in a restaurant. It's really anoying to have to listen to some DA yelling into their cell phone while I'm trying to have a nice quiet meal. Extreme rudeness. I can't think of any phone call that can't wait an hour till I'm done eating. Rule your phone, don't let it rule you.
  21. My wife likes me to wear my chaps without pants. And when she's happy, I'm happy.
  22. If the state law says we can, then wouldn't this be like the park thing? If they locally outlaw it, wouldn't they still have to post legally so those not from that area would know?
  23. I certainly respect your post and never felt you ruffled my feathers although I will admit I did enjoy watching the jousting.
