  1. Dang it, magic. I just got thru saying I wasn't buying anything else for a while and was going to sell off a few pieces. Now I've got the hots for this one. A beautiful pistol and a great commemorative. Glad you got it.
  2. According to a vendor I've been talking with from East Tn, it is the 8/9 of October.
  3. Thanks, I may try to head out tomorrow.
  4. I've only ordered from Bud's once, and I must say I wasn't impressed with the service either. I'd heard how great they were at quickly shipping an order, so I was disgruntled to find that the order placed on a Monday morning didn't ship until the following Monday. I did recieve the package on the Thursday after the Monday shipping. Maybe just a fluke in the system, but still not up to their rep.
  5. Just go to American Pickers or Pawn Stars. At least that is somewhat entertaining.
  6. For now...but the biggest sedan offerred by buick is theLacrosse/Lucerne I believe. If you want room from a Buick, you need to look at the crossover. The Enclave. Sweet, but pricey.
  7. Got a call this afternoon from a buddy. He's scouting the gun show location in Hendersonville and found that dealers were initally refused entrance by the fire marshall because the building wasn't completed. Said that looking inside the vendors could see a crew still doing wiring in the building. Cluster foxtrot? Maybe not. The last I heard, the building was opened for set-up about 4:30. Anbody know about this? I'd still like to go and check it out. My wife found an add in the Tennessean advertising it as the largest gun show ever held in the Nashville area. And bless the little lady...she actually asked if I wanted to go. Right decent of her since I'm really not supposed to drive til next Monday. ( A little surgery earlier this week.)
  8. Sgt. Joe, first thanks for your service; both first and second time around. That attitude and commitment is what has made this a counrty worth living in and fighting for. And my belated sympathies to your wife for the loss of her friend. Secondly, like probably the entire population of this country, I can recount in vivid detail exactly what I was doing and continued to do that first day. It's not really important what I was doing, just that I bonded with and comiserated with everyone I had contact with that day. It was an experience I will never forget. As like you, I remember the national uniting around that still-flying tattered flag; with "W" and the firemen. The rousing words of his speech. And the tears shed many times that day. One stand-out memory is talking with my wife, a nurse, who had contacted her friends at Vanderbuit's Trauma and Burn Center. They had been put on standby to recieve victims and she was volunteering to go in and assist. I was having a had time explaining that due to the known details at that time, I did't think many, if any, would be sent here. As the night went on, she began to see why. And seeing that understanding come to her was terrible. But we endured, as a people and a country. With the efforts of many, many like you. My sincere Thanks to you and all the other heroes of that day and those followng.
  9. Looks good. But as a larger, older, fat guy, I kinda got the hots fo an M3 convertible I spotted at a local dealer. It's really sharp looking. Not that I'll really seriously consider it...but I can dream anyway.
  10. I pretty much agree with you on the G30. Have had one for 2 years and find it comfortable, easy to shoot, and accurate. Also like yourself, had shot and carried a PT145 so it felt really natural. In short, good choice.
  11. Amen, brother!
  12. Thanks. I have been looking to purchase from them and pretty much gotten the same kind of service. Just wondering if it was me, or if it was a pattern. Thanks to all for the comments.
  13. Patton, would you care to elaborate on your two experiences? If not pupliclly on the forum, perhaps in a pm? Again, not trying to stir the pot here, I do have a reason for asking.

Now I begin to understand your choice of avatar, Mike. You must be as warped as me. I'm hoping to go see it next week. Looks interesting.
  15. Thanks, saw them some time back at a gun show. They had a very good selection. So-so pricing. But offered some package deals on suppressed Rugers. Was tempted, but wanted some feedback on them. And needed to learn a little more about the suppressors as well. Anyone else? Any comments?
  16. Any of you East Tn guys have any firsthand knowledge of this shop? Their operation and rep? Not looking to bash, just looking for information. Thanks.
  17. Yes, his wisdom will be missed. God Bless his family and his church.
  18. Maybe my age is showing...I don't think it's funny. I guess humor is in the eye of the beholder.
  19. Can't fault Hipoint's waranty either. I took a C9 on a trade several years ago and thought it was functioning erraticly. That is, the slide didn't lock and release as I thought it should. I sent it back and it was returned in less than 10 days. I got their usual few mag for the "inconvience," as well as new trigger group and barrel assembly. After a little range time with it, I decided the problem may have been my being unfamiliar with the gun. Still didn't keep it though...the pistols are just too butt ugly. Worse than glocks.
  20. Might be one of the few times the ACLU could actually do some good.
  21. Good Luck with it. Let us know how it performs. Like I need another firearme, but I've toyed with the idea of one myself.
  22. .45 caliber in a G30 frame. What's not to like? Excellent choice. One of my favorite plastic guns.
  23. What a bunch of wastes you are! Losing valuable time like that. You could be working productively. If I wasn't so sleepy, I'd chastize you further.
  24. Lester, as I read your posts, I believe we are brothers seperated at birth. We seem to share a fondness for the classic old SF movies.
  25. "Public Safety Loophole???!!!!!" What a bunch of ----ing idiots! We are well and truly screwed in this country.
