  1. Hey, you left out Ruger, Taurus, Colt, and Walther.
  2. Congrats, Steel. Always liked the drums. Just never could cordinate doing two things at once. Still can't.
  3. 10:17 in Inglewood and it's 92 on my back porch. It's like going swimming out there.
  4. I got a pair of New Balance flipflops from Sam's for wearing inside the house. They're really comfortable for that. But wear'em outside...in the grass...or on pavement...no way. Too easy to trip up on something.
  5. +1 for Larry Correia and the Monster Hunter Series. Also Gina Kock's Alien Series--pretty similar to Correia's books. And although a projected long series of books, possibly 6 to 9; Taylor Anderson's Destroyermen is excellent. I believe #5 is out now. It's about 2 WW1 era destroyers that are caught up in a monsterstorm in the opening days of WWII and are transported to an alternate reality/universe. Sounds a little hokey, but they are really good.
  6. Good grief man! What else is there?
  7. Plans sound very good. But appears to be on the level of an upper income country club. Probably would go over in this area, simply because of all the perks and proposed facilities. But I'd have to think long and hard about that 800-1200 per year membership. David's equating it to Titans ticket pricing is a good analogy, but I gave up the 1000+ per year on that as well. I'd say there are lots of people here who can afford it, and I could as well, but that's still a lot. JMO
  8. Couldn't agree any more.
  9. Must re-read the book. Way too much similarity to today's politics.
  10. Yes, it seems that most of us, myself included, are deeply involved ithe search for the smallest carry size/biggest caliber search. And in that search we compromise the ability to comfortably and easily pull, hold, and shoot the larger calibers. At least that is the conclusion I have reached for myself. These little pocket pistols will do all that's asked of them, but at the sacrifice of comfort/controllability for the average shooter. No, let me change that. The average shooter among us will probably accept the harsh recoil and just go forward practicing with approximate size guns and firing limited amounts with carry pocket rockets. Some of the buyers for these smaller size pistols are the first-time buyers, and seeing the size, weight and mass of the service and tactical size pistols will shy away from them. Then finding the little, easily carried pistols that feel oh-so light, will grab one thinking it's the awnser for all their needs. And guess what? They find it's not fun to shoot, get disgusted with it, never practice, and either carry it anyway or sell it and go on to the next newest model. Not saying this is the gospel or anything like that. Just my obsevations on the subject. Now how does all this relate to me you ask? Or do you even care? Well, I'll tell you anyway. I've been in the search for that perfect combo of size and caliber for quite a while. And still am. Haven't found what works for me yet. Been thru the airweights, ultralites titanium and scandium frames, and as many of the polymer guns as I could find. From the LCP, LCR, PF9/40, and the Walther PPS 40. Looked at the Kahrs, and the Sig P250. And others I can't name at the moment. So far...zilch. For me, til the next pocket wonder comes along, I'll stick with my G30, PT145, SP101, or a 31/2-4 in 1911. Again, JMHO.
  11. Ah...the smell of fresh sarcasm in the morning. I love it.

    Fake Rolex

Strel did make some interesting comments. And start some wild arguements, that's for sure. I'm pretty much with gregintenn, really not into watches. Havent worn one in so long I can't remember when. Way too many ways to find the time around me to spend money like that (Rolex) on a wrist ornament. I did once almost buy a Rolex Submariner. Walked in to well-known jewelry chain some years back, and started counting out money...then I realized what I was doing and left. Haven't regretted it one bit. JMO
  13. Went to HF and picked up one of the cleaners. The young cashier told me they are selling quite a few of them lately. So word is getting around. According to the store rep, no returns and no complaints on them.
  14. I really have a hard time seeing a real-world situation in which I would trade 3 of my guns to get 1 in return. Won't say I wouldn't under the right circumstance, but normally I'd simply save and buy what I wanted.
  15. We stayed at the Grand once, probably 20 years ago. It was during an F100 meet. Was nice then. But have heard from some car guys that it's gotten pretty bad there in the last few years.
  16. Mac, as you'd guess, we won't always agree, and I have to say here that I believe you've misinterpreted my opinion. I have not insinuated that any man is unequal or one is better than another. I simply state that where one man's belief system calls for the subjugation and extermination of another; that putting the former in positions where there exists extreme examples of both sides in close contact; i.e., the military, that some restraint must be used. As for your comments about 'patriotic emblems and other nationalistic symbols" and "with religious icons in your avatar, possibly with some patriotic flair"; how do you equate these symbols as condemnation of anything? The showing of pride in ones' country, and expressing a standing relationship with our God. How does this express inequality or insinuate bigotry towards anyone? I believe I'll stop here. This is getting periously close to the edge.
  17. Next point. How is this relevant? I made no comments about the taking or giving up of liberty from anyone.
  18. Bigotry has absolutely nothing to do with it. Profiling...maybe. But I still think a creed that literally demands the killing of non-believers has to be judged as a threat to those non-believers. And as such, a devoted follower of that creed has no place in the fighting arm of the latter.
  19. Yes. Of course that's a sarcastic awnser. But I personally believe that a member of a faith that espouses the death of all who do not worship in their way can and should be killed by any and all means, should not be in our military And yes, I'll take your flack for it. That's my belief and it will not change.
  20. Ok, poor phrasing. Had judt seen the video of Nasir praying. How about this...Muslims in any unit, active or otherwise?
  21. Allright, I'll be the bad guy and say it. Why are we putting active Muslim individuals in the military?
  22. 10:24 PM. Looks great so far.
  23. It has been quite a while since we were there, but Sedona Valley is absolutely beautiful. We were in Phoenix on a buying trip and were headed for the Canyon. Of course going up 89 North, we ran into Sedona and fell in love. But as mustangdave says, have plenty of money. It's full of tourist attractions, parks with walk and hiking trails, and then, several jeep tours into the desert and mountains, and all kinds of food places. While driving thru we decide to alocate a day away from the Canyon time.We ended up staying 3 days. The things I remember most were the Pink Jeep Tour in the hills and Submarine Rock and the magnificient scenery just about everywhere. There's just so much to do and it's been 13 years I think. Just walking around the tourist area of town you can see some of the most awesome and colorful hills you can imagine. If you can stand the dry heat, rent a convertible. You'll love the views just driving around. I highly recommend a late night drive thru the desert and mountains around the area. Don't know if it's still there, but there was an ariel tour in an old biplane. My wife went and was thrilled. It was a lot pricey, I think 350-400 for the tour. But as a gift for her, it was well spent money. Not great details, but I am getting old and senile with memory issues for that far back, but the trip is unbelievable. If you plan on Sedona alone, a week should give you time to see and do quite a lot. If you're planning a tip to Monument Valley or The Grand Canyon, it will be really rushed; because every time you look around, there's something else that just begs you to stop and look. Forget the name of the area, but should you opt for a Canyon jaunt, go to the east end of the Canyon where it starts. Just a big drop and a crack in the earth that becomes Huge, very quickly. It's great. Wish we could go along. Have a wonderful trip!
  24. I've been following this idea for a while now, watching for comments. What I've heard so far seems all positive. I've had a couple of guns clead Ultrasonically and been very satisfied. Meant to go looking for one myself today, but the wife's yard sale trip got me sidetracked in the morning. So there's tomorrow...
  25. Glad to see this was just a judgement in one of his past escapades. I was afraid he'd made another trip outside in his quest for whatever it is he's doing.
