  1. I can help you with that.
  2. Young Ann Margaret
  3. However...the Canik prices continue to rise. Whether it's actual cost of product, or just distributors looking for a larger profit; the Canik continues to be a well received line by the gun buying public. First time and newbies looking for another are attracted by the comments they see and the relatively low prices. We older and more savvy buyers have discovered the quality and continue to add them to our own inventories. I wish now I'd bought more of the first gen imports; the steel frame models like the T100. These are true gems. I have a T100 and the Shark variant. Both are amazing. Another import gaining ground seems to be the SAR line, at least I think so. Classic Firearms put out a mailing around 9 yesterday morning, and by mid afternoon, the nice models were gone.
  4. That's a PPS? Always liked the look of them.
  5. Thanks for the photos. Interesting, I would have thought the CaniK SC to be smaller than the G19 by more than that. I'll pull a 19 out and check against my Elite. That is my smallest Canik.
  6. Yes. If Sam does all the work. Not too sure about his minions. Does his son-in-law still work there?
  7. Regardless of mail in voting, even when Trump wins, I see him being the last Republican President of this country; baring a major miracle. The other side, no matter what you call them, will far outnumber those who think similar to us now.
  8. Like my wife's Great Aunt. Drove Cadillacs all her life. Drove like she was Nascar washout! Drove for years "legally blind" and worse. Thought the high speed limits were suggest speed I think. Family finally convinced her to stop in her late 80s. Much safe on the roads of Inglewood after that.
  9. Rarely do I buy a firearm I know nothing about. (Well I just got Zapped! Maybe I do on occasion.) I do try to know at least as much as the guy or gal, behind the counter. I daresay most of us do. Between online ads, magazines, and word of mouth; it's not hard to pick up on things. But i do agree that some shops will try to do as you say. I know one in particular nearby.
  10. Sounds like you found him in and not out golfing. lol
  11. I feel somewhat comfortable with my supply on most calibers, but really wish I'd bought more back around this past Christmas when things were reasonable to great prices. Since I shoot mostly pistol, I have more of those than rifle calibers. Or am I fooling myself> The pistol caliber carbines are my fav these days. So there's a small possibility I might just need more for them.
  12. We use something similar to that in the second pic. Usually has good results, but we don't seem to be getting any around us this year. Using the 4:1 mix, maybe not changing often enough according to the above chart, but still try to keep it fresh. Don't understand what's happened. Neighbors a couple hundred yards away are seen lots of activity around their feeders. Any thoughts?
  13. WOW! Can you imagine the crapstorm the libs would make if this were available today?!
  14. I agree with the first comment concerning data and closing the economy. As for the second statement; many of us older geezers have begun to suspect this was all a major scam. Many of us do wear facial covering in certain places, but from what I've seen in the last 2 weeks, usage is dropping rapidly among us. Those I see wearing cover the most are retail workers being told to, and many of your generation are wearing cover still. In fact on my stops this morning at a Harbor Freight and Kroger, under 30/40 were the highest numbers I saw. Seems almost like a reversal. JMO
  15. Amend that to 1911s, CZs and Caniks and we're in full agreement.
  16. Yeah...pretty much my results as well. I really like the 43x. I just wish that my hand could stand that snappy little thing. I really did like it. Just couldn't make it work for me. So on to something else.
  17. Amen brother!
  18. Surprisingly, my wife, having grown up in a very strong, almost rabidly Republican family; was very much a liberal when we met. But her attributes made me look past her politics. And get your minds out of the gutters guys! Somehow, over the years with me, and being a very smart lady, she watched the world and has changed her viewpoint. I was just the opposite. I grew up in a very strongly Democrat family. When I moved away and started looking at how politicans and politics were changing; I started looking and talking more conservative. Dad and I had more than a few short hot arguments over it.
  19. Before my time. Really. Did have one little diner where I grew up that was similar to these pics. No soda fountain though. Kinda wish I could have experienced those. Now about that power steering thingamabob...I have seen many of those. Think my grandfather had one in his truck and later in his 64 Olds.
  20. From the general and personal observations I have made, I would estimate the mid 50's and older are the most likely to be seen wearing a mask in a group or public setting. I am in agreement with you on this whole situation. My wife watched Outbreak again last night. As the loose virus is repeatedly referred to as a weapon during the movie, she kept looking over at me and asking something like "Is this true? Think that's what's going on now?" I just sat smugly and silently. I've trained her well.
  21. I rather agree with you on this. However, while talking with another member over the weekend...this was one of the topics of conversation. I asked his opinion, and he expressed that the Covid 19 was a possible candidate for a second, even possibly a third round of infections. I expressed my comments saying that I was dubious, as so much hasn't truly been kosher in this whole situation. So, we disagreed on the topic. No harm, no foul. We all have opinions. We base them on reports from "knowledgeable and reputable" sources. The problem is, that for me, there are simply too many of these sources all contradicting themselves and the "facts." I'd say we are split about 35/65 on those that disbelieve and those that do. I'm being loose with my interpretation of the numbers. Being a skeptic as well as a card-carrying tinfoil cap guy these days...it might even be as close as a 50/50 mix. I base that on the number of people I see wearing vs not wearing any kind of "protective" mask. The younger crowd seem so much more not to wear, while the percentage of we older folks seem to be more worried about it. All opinion and speculation on my part though.
  22. Thanks for the pics. I like what you've done here. I believe I'll be looking into this myself.
  23. Precious few of those extremely brave souls left. We should all honor them...today and everyday.
  24. LOL! My wife fought a 5x8. It never worked out either. Could pull it anywhere. Couldn't back it for anything.
  25. Somewhere. I'll try to find it. I know Sam changed the name of the shop sometime back and I don't remember the new name. I'm Baaaccckk! Hey got it. Custom Defense. Last number I have for him is 615-206-0075. Don't know if he works Saturdays anymore. Last time I saw Sam, he was headed out golfing.
