  1. I think you'll like it, and the Shield mags. I really like the way the 43x felt. It was just about the perfect size for me anyway. Didn't have any issues with the mags either...except loading past 11 rounds. May they were some of the stiffest mags I ever had. Although I did have a bit of a pucker when I first saw those mags! LOL That strange little indention in the side had me spooked at first. I just swore someone had stomped on all 3 I bought.
  2. "...(15) .40cal Shields" lol. I shot one...once. It hurt even before I really started having these issues. But I must admit that I like the idea on principle. Just not in practice. Guess I'll just have to call a halt to my love of lightweight pocket pistols. I haven't tried some of my FS poly guns yet, just several metal frames. I seem to be ok with them. So far. Hey...I might even go to carrying a Hipower. Maybe even that Kareen I just got. lol
  3. I do still have that Nokia. I found it when we were cleaning a week or so ago. I had that bag phone with a shoulder strap on it. And that's all I'll say about that.
  4. How would you compare the felt recoil between the Shield and the 365? I like the idea of the higher capacity. But starting to have arthritis in my right hand, especially on the back of the thumb. I would have answered the OP's question by saying the 43x, but it was painful for me to fire. Actually surprised to not see it mentioned here? Has it fallen from favor and I didn't hear about it?
  5. I think we might just hear the swishing of a hammer coming down soon!
  6. Those look like maybe 582s to me.
  7. It's been a few years back, but I had it done by Sam Hoster in Gallatin. Seems like around 75, but I could be wrong. But that was on a patchwork MKIII I picked up at a gun show.
  8. Me too! And as Ronald_55 said...very glad to see a great rifle resurrected from the dirt of a parts bin.
  9. I LOVE THIS!!!
  10. Well done, sir! I could not have said it better.
  11. Oh I wear a mask when out cavorting about the city. Sam's and Kroger primarily, with a few medical visits thrown in for good measure. But that doesn't mean that I have fully accepted all that has been said, reported, and espoused by high media, medical, and government officials...on either side of this. There is truth, as well as falsehood out here; both in the virus, its severity, and its source. And until all is known, if ever. I remain with my scepticism, my sarcasm, and my poor attempts at humor intact; in all its splendor and fervor. And lastly, Raoul, in reference to your last statement...you do realize where you are and whom you deal with here, don't you?
  12. Not quite sure how to answer this. One way I'm a pessemistic, tin foil hat waiting for TEOTWAWKI. The other I'm just a plain conspiracy theorist. Maybe it's time to go have a wee sip of that Tullamore Dew I Bought.
  13. Both. My paranoia is the fear that this situation is going to destroy this nation. I don't know...or care...now, if this is a contrived attack on this county's government or only one man. Or if this is all just one cosmic joke on humanity and it's a plague of epic proportions. Either way, the outcome is what I worry about. At best, we are going to be a vastly different county; both economically and socially. At worst...well you decide what it might be. And if you think I've read too many EOTWAWKI books...maybe I have.
  14. Like Luckyforward, I took my carry permit classes with Buford as well. Also had a lot of face time with him in the 90s when he ran security at Hickory Hollow Mall. (In those days, it actually was a very nice place.) I was running a seasonal store there for about 6 years, and we met when I had a shoplifter in the shop. We struck up a casual friendship after that. He would usually stop in just before closing and chat over a cup of coffee with me. During one of those little chats, I found that he knew my brother-in-law. That opened up a whole new avenue of conversations for us. lol He asked me one night, very casually..."Do you have a pistol with you?" I know it's against mall policy, but with the hours and leaving at night...I figure you do. Of course, he said...smiling, you really shouldn't. But just in case you're thinking about something like this. I run a carry permit class. Well, the rest is history, as they say. Took the class with him, got abused for bringing a new pistol I'd just bought to the class. Laughed at because I didn't buy a Beretta. And just generally was used as the whipping boy for the class. He used me as an example for most of the "How would you do this?" questions. But I thoroughly enjoyed the class. Bought my first safe from Buford when he had that tiny little shop on Murfreesboro Road. But sort of lost touch after my shop closed and he got busy with his own life. Yes...Buford Tune was a character. But also a man of character. It's a shame that he will be forever know as "That Guy" who shot his pinky off in front of a class. He deserves better. But I think he probably laughed it off later. Rest In Peace, Officer Tune.
  15. Yes. Word has definitely spread on these. I've bought 3 different models and all were under the 300 mark. Now that I'd like to add to the collection I find that I'm going to have to pony up a bit more on some...a lot more on others. FWIW Oddly enough, the Elite compact is the one I favor least. The full size shoot and handle so well, I think I'll just stay with them.
  16. Amen. Prime example typing this.
  17. Sweet. Does it need a 9mm little brother?
  18. What gun?
  19. Let's do the time warp again!
  20. I might disagree with you on the stupidity of the American populace. Some individuals are intelligent and discerning, a mass of people seem to lose all thinking ability and fall to the level of the least among them.
  21. bud...the wife and I were both sick back in Dec. Felt crappy for about a week for her and maybe 10 days for me. Then over and done. Like you, I strongly suspect and suggest, that this virus has been around far longer than our "official sources" would have us believe. I don't doubt that there is a Corona Virus, nor that it can be fatal. What I do question is the tales of where and when this came from. I am very certain that politicians have made off with this to their own advantages...on both side of the proverbial aisle we hear so much about.
  22. Raquel Welch and Linda Carter. My 2 biggest loves of the 70s and 80s.
  23. Prayers for you my friend. Been there too many times.
  24. Same here. Left in Fall of '18 and Right in Fall of '19. Total replacements on both. Still have big-time swelling in right leg. Degenerative disc disease in lumbar spine as well as arthritis in back and now hands. And just to make things interesting...tendonitis in right elbow. So I hit 68 this year and all the physical restrictions have kicked in. Not a happy camper. My point is....the "Golden Years" ain't having much gold for most of us. But for you GT and you E4 I offer prayers for recovery. For the rest of us...suck it up.
  25. I really like several, heck all of the wester ones, but a bit pricey right now. The Eastwood Solitaire is awesome. Then Bad Man's Bar. Those would be my first choices.
