PSA has a similar notice up. I dare say that none of us here are ill-prepared in the area of firearms and accessories. So shipping delays won't be an issue.

One of my past co-workers has an issue in all this insanity. His son has multiple medical issues and needs advil, ibuprophen, and Benadryl at times. White House area is depleted. He is in Atlanta on a work trip and hoping to score some while there. Thankfully, the community has stepped in and is getting these to them. I would have been part of the issue as well, but I couldn't find any either.

Nope. I got a S---load of TP stockpiled. I grew up in a family that always kept "extra" on hand. Have tried to follow Mom's training on that. Have failed in a lot of things, but do have TP, Paper towels, and bar soap. Side note. Mom seemed to think there was no soap of the brand I liked, Coast, available around here. She always brought multiple 8 bar packages when she came to visit. I'll never forget the look on my wife's face the first time that happened. She thought Mom was bringing in food. But seeing 3/4 bags with 8 pack bars in them just confused her to no end. I really miss those days. And Mom, of course.

Strange you should mention Aldi. I passed the local store in Madison on my way home this afternoon. The parking lot was only about half full, so I wheeled in to search for my favorite cookie. Benton's Iced Oatmeal. The tastiest cheap oatmeal and sugar treat you can find. I get inside to see that the parking lot was very misleading. Lots of shoppers with full carts and long checkout lines. I went about my search. Found the cookie section...and there it was! The holy grail of cookies. lol Eight packages of high calorie, high fat goodness. Never seen that many at one time there. I bought them all! Never know. That might end up being like ZombieLand's last Twinkie!

I agree. Sadly, most of ours are not like Vanessa and Charlie. Everybody is just so self absorbed anymore, and no desire to meet and really know each other. Way too long since the term "neighbors" actually meant something more than just those people nest door that you wave to now and then.

I was at Sam's in Hendersonville today, just to see how people were reacting, and actually to pick up a few staples. Here are my Observations... NO TP, Paper towels, a very few boxes of facial tissues. Almost out of bar soaps and liquid soaps. Strangely, I thought, detergents for washing clothes were not gone. Meats seemed to be the hottest item. Little left, but I did pick up a package of steaks. Just to blend in with the crowd you know. Of course canned goods getting low. I actually forgot what I went after while watching people though. Not going back. Speaking of "People," It seemed to me that the crowd was very heavy on older people. Maybe 75%. A few that looked 30/40ish. Almost no really young or children. Take what you will from this. Just what I saw. Now a bit of positivity on my very young neighbors(30ish with 2 kids). The young wife called my wife and asked if they could shop for us, instead of me going out. They knew I did all the shopping and didn't want me to go and risk any exposure. That was so darn nice I just got misty. Really...I did.

I want to believe this. I have to believe this. I have to live my life as normal as possible during all this. If I don't, well I might as well just say f---it and roll over and die. Hell, I'm 68, wife's 67. Both of us fit the parameters of probable infection and illness. Likelyhood of getting it...high??? Surviving? Maybe. Sorry. I'm not responding too well to all this paranoia. Folks, pull it together. Please. For all our sakes and sanity.

I can understand that, but money is the object. Until I can get some extra coming in...I just can't do it.

A winner for sure!

Sorry. Impulsive mouth syndrome. I better wait and see for a while.

Thank you, Macguyver and ken_mays, I appreciate the information. You've given me more to digest on the P99. I don't know if I'm going to chance it. Problems, or potential problems I wasn't aware of. I've passed on a couple of PPQ models in the last year, thinking I really didn't need another. Perhaps I won't do that again. Looking closely, sometimes a really good price comes up on the used market. If nothing else, it's a parts gun. lol Like I have the reasonable belief I'll wear one out. And as much as I've shot in the last few years, not likely to abuse one to the point of breakage. My body is breaking down much faster than I ever believed would happen. I'll be 68 this month. Where the heck have the years gone? Yes, there's always the possibility of it, but I've been exceptionally lucky with my firearms and had only 2 or 3 times I had to resort to factory service on one. So, I'll keep watching, listening to all the guys here who know much more than me, and then decide. Thank you.

Does the 2 stage trigger "feel" different? Never shot anything like that. CF is offering the AS and the DOA models. I'm leaning toward the AS. In reality, I don't think there would be much against the DOA, but not sure.
-
Thanks. I never got a PPQ M1, for some reason. lol Yes, I love the trigger and short, audible reset. The grip fits me perfectly. I'm just one of those that like the "finger grove" style. Missed out on getting a 40 version recently and I do sort of regret it. Never liked the PPS. Just me. Yes again, the PPQ is a large gun, but I really didn't see the value in getting the "compact" model. Maybe someday. What you think of the PPQ in 45?
-
I have a question for a short discussion. What's so great about the P99? Is it really better than a PPQ? Or just hype? Not sure if I'm looking to be talked into or out of buying a P99 from Classic Firearms. I'm really happy with my PPQ M2, but always hear that the P99 was and is the standard for the Walther lineup. Never shot, nor even held a P99. What say you?

YES! YES! YES!

I have one of the original PCC 9s that I got from Steelharp a few years back. I like it, but don't seem to shoot it anymore. Maybe I should offer it for sale? I like my Spacegun more...the Beretta Storm.

Doug, first off, glad you and your family ok. I apologize for not returning your call. I was in Cookeville/Double Springs area yesterday and phone/cell service was a bit spotty at times there. I was able to see you called, but was just wasted last night and didn't call back. I'm very sorry. I had family in that area. It was awful. Widely spaced homes, and especially the area around Echo Valley and Double Springs was just wiped off the map. I don't have numbers this morning, but last night rumors had 20 homes and businesses in a small are gone. There were many injuries and at least 2 deaths there. I think that number will be higher. Terrible doesn't get close to the destruction. My family there was blessed. Some minor injuries, some requiring hospitilization, one serious that's touch and go at the moment. During all this, I got online to find that a brother of ours here has had his home damaged. He lives in East Nash. I haven't been there yet, don't know if I can get to him. I won't tell his name yet openly, I haven't talked with him to see if he wants that. Some probably know already, but until I get the ok, I will not mention who. Took mother-in-law food and flashlights around 5 this morning when we got home. She, like a lot of Donelson has no power. Some shingle damage, minor as far as we know, to her home. Some around her not so lucky The episcopal Church on McGavock Pike is destroyed. Many trees down. Several homes missing entire roof, one 3 story, has lost the top story I'm told. Glad to be here. Glad most of family is ok. Happy for those of us who didn't receive damage or injury. Praying for those who did. Added 3/8/20 I got a chance to drive around the East side of the McGavock/Windemere Dr. area today. Much more damage than I knew of. A couple of several square blocks bad to total devestation. Many, many old trees down. Power restored to most of that area by around 4PM. But still many more needing power and help.
-
I haven't heard any mention of the area. Guess we will find out more as the morning progresses. I did see a man who lived near Jefferson and Rosa Parks mentioned he drove from Antioch during the tornado, but no mention of any damage by him.
-
Glad and happy for you, btq96r. I'm down Gallatin Rd, close to Briley Pkwy. We had a lot of rain later this morning after the tornado moved thru, but no damage I've been able to see yet. Going to walk up the street in a bit and see how the neighbors fared. The first photos from Germantown and Five Points areas are just emotionally devastating. Again glad you were so blessed.

Like the leather! Very good choice. Like most of us, I'm sure, I have kydex for most everything, but I still prefer leather. It just looks good. It looks right.
-
Sorry, faulty memory. It's a Model 317. Don't know where I came up with a 416.
-
The S&W 317 is a 10 shot 22lr 2" SS revolver. The 351 PD is the same size in a blue/black finish as a 9 round 22 winmag revolver.

If PSA comments are accurate, it's due in March.

OK...I'm this morning's dummy. What's BLOAT? -
My wife has a similar situation. But more Carpal issues than anything else. Her pistol is a Smith 317 with a CT grip. I've tried to change her to a 351PD and change the CT grip, but she says even the 22lr vs the 22 Mag is too much. So it's a 416 for her. I haven't gotten her to go with me in quite a while, but next time I want to try her with the Glock killer...the Taurus TX22. lol
