  2. To defend both shops I believe are mentioned here, they both have awesome inventories and while they both seem to run MSRP pricing, if you want a particular pistol and no one else has it, they pretty much will. When LCP's were impossible to get, I walked into one of these shops and paid $347 for it because they had it and I wanted it. Same with the other shop, I was looking for a used Kahr PM9 in black....no where to be found, but the other shop had one in stock. I would caution you about trading at the latter shop, but again they are in the business to make money and if people are willing to pay it, then that's there problem. I was actually in another shop that sells new Gen 3's for $515 on the shelf and I was telling him that I can't believe some shops get $575 or more. He just laughed and said, if people are willing to pay, then good for the shop.
  3. I was watching that video from utah and not that it matters, but check out about the 50 sec mark. Looks like an XD-SC to me. I just hate that all semi-auto pistols are Glocks to the media. Correct me if I'm wrong. I would also field strip a pistol such as a Glock or XD if I was flying as well before I got to the airport.
  4. If you've had traditional 3 dot sights then these do take some getting used too. I had them on my Glock 33 and never liked them.
  5. It's easy to say we appreciate what they do, but to think I'm 29 and this LT lost his life to protect ours. Can't be thankful enough for all of those in uniform!!! Lord, Bless our Troops!
  6. I think this is great! I've noticed a few stores in Nashville and even Smyrna stopped selling anything other than BB/Pellet guns. I know the Nolensville Pike store doesn't have any either. Obviously, there are parts of town that are worse than others, but why stop law abiding citizens from buying guns and ammo in neighborhoods where you might really need them to protect your life.

    Glock 38 and 39

I've seriously thought about this caliber as well and was also afraid of the ammo becoming impossible to acquire. In the most recent issue of the Glock Autopistols magazine, it shows several large departments have switched to it since they get similar ballistics of 45acp and the pistols are more easily handled by those with smaller hands. I think at least one of those departments is a Sheriff's dept in Florida. Someone may be able to confirm. This combined with the 4th Gen models, I think the naysayers might have been wrong....I know Bud's had these for sale for like $375 shipped last year.
  8. I'm looking for someone to install night sights? Any of these guys still around?
  9. I'm in Middle Tennessee and am looking for someone to install some Meprolights on my Kahr PM9. I've called around at a few shops in Murfreesboro and Franklin and the prices are crazy! Any help in Mid Tenn would be great! Thanks!
  10. I have a Kahr PM9 which I love. Carry everyday. I've also owned a PM40 in the past. Great guns! MADE IN USA! The CW series are basically entry level models. KAHR CW9093 / Detail images. Check this link out. It shows the exact differences in the CW vs. P series. Also, I owned a PF9 Keltec for a few days. There's no comparison in quality. I honestly hated that one.
  11. Are there any departments in Middle Tennessee that have the reserve programs?
  12. Is it possible to change the name of my profile?
  13. I think it's interesting the signs say you may lose your permit, yet the law doesn't provide for that punishment, only a fine.
  14. I bought Corbon DPX for my Glock 33. Solid copper bullets.... $2 a piece. Makes me not want to shoot anybody...it's so expensive!

    HTC EVO 4G. test

4G will be in Nashville this Summer. I have a cousin that works for Sprint in Kansas City. He has 4G at his house and gets 5mbs. Pretty incredible if you ask me!! That's one way to give Comcast and AT&T the boot!
  16. I think most uniformed Metro Officers carry G23. Many detectives carry G27.
  17. I don't see a problem with the OC at all. I do know from a meeting with Metro PD last week that they have roughly 660 officers on the streets since Thursday. They canceled all days off, vacation, etc. The Sgt. said typically you would have 150 officers on the streets at any given time besides overlap from shifts. They pulled all SRO's and flex units as well. He basically said they will do anything they can to stop looting, etc.
  18. I've been inside the HRT training facility at Quantico. They have a live fire building that has moveable walls so they can create pretty much any scenario. I think they use Simunitions and other less lethal rounds so they don't tear the place up so much.
  19. I agree about the barrel lengths not being accounted for. Cool test anyway!
  20. I like the paper too, but do wish the database wasn't public information.
  21. I will say it does take some getting used too. I've had several pistols with standard 3 dot night sights such as Meprolight, Sig Night sites, etc. and these are definitely different. Like others have said, for fast target acquisition I think they're going to be great for me. I've watched those videos, etc, but haven't had a chance to actually shoot with these installed. Hopefully this Saturday I'll make it to the range.
  22. I got mine for my Glock 33 last week at the Outpost Armory. $120+tax. They wanted $20 to install which is pretty standard now. I called Franklin Gun Shop and On Target and they both said $20. The cool thing about the xs sights is that they come with a punch to knock out the rear sight and a little nut driver to remove/install front sight. I installed in about 30 minutes that night. Haven't been to the range yet but I like them so far.
  23. I was in On Target a few weeks ago and they probably had 10 boxes of both. 10mm was like 18.95 a box. They might be reloads. Blue box, not sure on brand.
  24. That's awesome! Looks very tactical to be duck hunting...
