  1. I have a hastings slug barrel I would like to put on my Rem 1100 shotgun. The barrel does not have iron sites, just a couple of scope mounts quite far out on the barrel. The current scope I have is not an extended eye relief model, and I was wondering if there was a scope mount that would attach to the existing barrel mounts that could allow the scope to slide back 2-6". If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.
  2. Does anyone have experience with moon clips for a J frame revolver? I have not used them and was looking for an opinion. Got a line on a 442 with moon clips and was looking for some feedback.

  4. Can a model 27 glock be converted to a model 26 with the installation of a new barrel and magazines? Does anyone have knowledge of this, and are there any issues. Main reason is cost of shooting 40 vs 9 mm ammo. Would like to keep the 40 for personal protection.
  5. I find Magtech very dirty. It makes a mess out of my Redhawk, when firing a 100 rounds or so. The gun absolutely needs a thorough cleaning following a shooting session with magtech. My son does not have nearly the problems I do with gunk in this Taurus Raging Bull, at least for us it appears to be a combination of ammo and the gun.
  6. Thanks for the back up info. I was pretty sure there was no issue, but it nice to have it confirmed.
  7. Is there any issues using Winchester sxz ammo in a glock 27? The bullets have a lubalox coating on them, and I was wondering if that could cause any barrel issues. This ammo is supposedily exclusive to BassPro, but recently had a cohort say it is not recommended for use in Glocks. Any knowledge of the situation out there?
  8. I have a Browning Model 81 BLR, 7 mm Mag. Following a very dusty dirty hunt in TX, I took out the breech, lever and trigger mechanism to throughly clean the gun. When reassembled, the breech mechanism does not fully lock. As a result, the gun does not fire. I called Browning and was informed it would have to be sent back to them to be "retimed". Actually, they will not do it either, and I have been asked to send it to Mid West Gun Works, at considerable cost. The gun comes apart and went back together with ease. Two questions, does anyone have knowledge that they would share with me on how to get it working again, and if not is there a local gunsmith that is knowledgeable about this weapon and would know how to "retime" this gun?
  9. I have a Marlin 336 .35 Remington Lever Action rifle. I recently thoroughly cleaned it following a Russian Boar hunting trip to Texas. The first time I shot it following the cleaning, I experience 5 out of 6 light primer strikes. Only one of the rounds actually fired. Following the light strikes, I removed the breech bolt and the three piece firing pin assembly. All seemed fine with the associate parts. Following re-assembly, the rifle continued to light strike. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  10. That did not "make my day."
