  1. Having a armed guard license just means you are licensed to work as a armed security guard for a company. If you want to do your own security work then you have to have a Contract security company license. I have both hcp and armed guard. the reason I got the armed guard was to have it in case I got laid off and it might be a easy way to get a job. Well I was laid off a few weeks ago and have looked for guard jobs. there are several Barney Fife jobs available working for next to nothing. I am better off sitting on my butt and collecting unemployment right now. It pays about the same. But there are good companies that pay well, but they are few and far between and aren't hiring right now.
  2. i know its not for everyone. i have always been the one to do something different that not everyone has. whats the fun in falling in line with everyone else. when i get tired of this and whenever i get around to getting set up for duracoat there is no telling what i will come up with. i already have a few ideas.
  3. this isnt one of my carry guns. its a range gun. whenever i have time to play around with duracoat this will be the one i use. the guy that did the pinstriping gets carried away sometimes. but i gave him vague directions and let him get creative. i figured it aint bad for 10 bucks. if i want to remove it a little lacquer thinner and some elbow grease will take care of it.
  4. well after getting a 1911 i have somewhat neglected the XD. so i decided to have it dressed up a little. a guy i work with dad does pinstripping. i decided to see what it would look like. i like it. its something different.
  5. welcome there is a range in Fayetteville if you want to drive that far.
  6. I dont know about .40 but i know the chamber in the 9mm isnt fully supported. so when fired the case will bellow out a little and the sizing die wont resize it all the way. so when it is chambered it will tend to stick in the chamber. at least that is how it is with my buddy's custom 9mm 1911. i have been over there helping him load some and working on some of my stuff and i have seen how many problems he had before he finally figured out that the brass he pick up was shot out of a glock. so now he checks each piece of brass before he loads it for a small ring around the base. i hope i helped out some.

    rifle help

well i have it narrowed down to the mauser and the k31. hopefully i will have made a final decision by the time i get my C&R. but i have found in my research a steyr m95. how does it compare to the k31?

i am not sure now. i have liked the mausers for a long time. but after looking at the way the action works on k31 it would be interesting to own. but yesterday i sent a request for the for the C&R and a form 1 for the AR. now i have broadened my list to just about anything now. but i do want my first one to be something easy to reload for. midway doesnt have much of a bullet selection for 8mm mauser. but they do for .303, and 7.7 jap. from what i have researched the k31 can use a .308 for reloading. is that correct?

thanks everyone for the help. i am kind of leaning towards a mauser. my buddy that reloads for me knows someone else that has a mauser and wants to know when he is going to start reloading 8mm. i may be able to see if that guy wants to go in halves on a good set of dies. someday i will probably get all three. but for now i think i am going to get a mauser first then a enfield or mosin.

    rifle help

well it has been a long time since i have posted anything, but now i have a problem. i want to get a military surplus bolt action rifle. either a mosin, mauser, or enfield. i like all three but only want to get one right now. so i need help maiking up my mind. what does everyone think about these rifles? i want something that i can hunt with too. i am going to reload for whichever one i get so bullet selection and availability is something to consider. i also noticed that there is one of each in the classifieds. so i need some opinions on these rifles. any help is greatly appreciated. nick.
  14. Thanks for the welcome. What can you tell me about APPS?
  15. Hi, I am Nick from Fayetteville. I have been a lurker for a while and decided to finally introduce myself. I have already learned alot from this forum and hope to learn more. Now for my question. I am going to get a HCP but I am also interested in the Armed Guard certification as well as the baton certification and chemical spray certification. So where is somewhere close that I could get everything? Thanks, Nick
