For a 9mm I EDC a Kimber Solo. Its very easy to conceal and I shoot it well. That being said, I recently purchased a Glock 27 and love it. You've made a very wise decision in your willingness to be prepared to protect yourself and family. And you've made an equally wise decision in you're EDC choice. +1 for the Kimber. I've loved mine for the past 4 years. Great gun.

Well I traded for a Ranch Hand in 45lc. I already don't like the sights so I'm going to order a new set. I've ran a set of 45lc snap caps through it several times and it seems to load, feed and eject perfectly. I've even got it to feed and eject while spinning it like John Wayne. (A move only preformed with snap caps. I've got no desire to put a hole in my foot or my head.) After I get the new sights I'll take it to the range and see what kind if accuracy I can get out of it. I think I'll make a shoulder scabbard for it also. If nothing else it should make a neat pack gun. Or at least keep me entertained with tinkering with it for a few years. Lol.

Sig P238/P938, Colt Mustang, Kimber Solo, Beretta Tomcat.

I've been thinking about getting a Rossi Ranch Hand and wanted to get some first hand opinions from people who own and have shot them. What are the pros and cons your reasons for pick the caliber you did. Thanks in advance.

I have owned and carried my solo for about four years and absolutely love it. Striker fire, single action with 1911 ergonomics. Only issue I've had is the finish on my bitone black frame is easy to scratch. I'm just waiting until I can't stand the look and get it cerakoted. Its a short slide with heavy springs and Kimber recommendes shooting 124 grain or heavier rounds. I pack mine with Hornity 147 xtp. BTW, $500 is a great price.

I still haven't gotten mine to the range yet but I have high hopes for the performance.

I felt the same way for years with every Glock I've shot but the G27 actually feels normal to me. I've been playing with the back straps and I think I've found the right grip ergonomics. Hopefully it'll all play out nicely at my next range visit.

A buddy of mine uses the G23 magazine in the G27 with an A&G mag spacer to make the grip longer but still keep the compact frame.

So I've finally broke down and got a Glock. I've always been a 1911 fan boy but after having numerous folks twist my ear about the reliability, I decided to purchase my first Glock a G27 gen 4. I haven't got to shoot it yet, but I did make a new holster for it.

Seems to me the two you are considering (Kimber micro vs Sig P238) are just variants of the Colt Mustang. Why not just go with the original? I've owned the Sig P238 (great gun) and the Micro Desert Eagle (also a great gun and very compact). I've also shot the bersa, khar seecamp and keltec .380's. But once I got my hands on a Colt Mustang Pocket lite, I'll never carry any other .380 again. Hands down the best .380 pistol ever made and well worth every penny I paid for it. Just my 2 cents, but if you can, shoot a colt before you pull the trigger on any other .380.

Sig p938. Single action for better, crisper trigger for accurate follow up shots. Thinner for concealed carry. All metal construction just feels better in your hand (my opinion only) and helps with felt recoil. Proper safety. Plus it doesn't look like every other compact Sig model made. Lol

I own a Sterling. I inherited it from my late uncle. It seems to be a well made little gun and shoots straight. I've seen them go for around $200 give or take depending on condition.

I've owned a lot of revolvers and I have to say the Rogers are my favorite. If you're wanting just a shooter, I'd suggest the GP100. If you want to shoot and carry, try the SP101 with 3" barrel.

Rock Island is about the best for your budget. Build like a tank and accurate as the day is long.

Ok, two choices have come to mind. First is the Desert Eagle .50AE. A .50cal for my 50th. Second is the S&W 460V. I'm liking the 460 due to the ability to shoot .460 s&w, .454 and .45lc. Any thoughts of first hand experiences with either pistol?

I think cause the serial numbers are for the 1964 production year and that would make them 50 years old. 50 year old gun for my 50th birthday. Get it? Unfortunately I was born in 1965.

Maybe I should get a Desert Eagle 50AE for my birthday. A 50 cal for my 50th. Lol
