  1. So it's finally here, my HCP has arrived! Finally. Like I said in the title, it took 40 days, like the flood, LOL! The envilope wasn't sealed either. Either that or it blew open during that inland hurricane we just had. I have to work 12 hours Sunday so Wally Walk will be Monday at the earliest. Ok, then. Glad that's over...
  2. Let's say this was an hour after the last of the two drinks, or whatever. .02, .03 is not the point...

    WHAT????

  4. I've found some and am wondering if anyone knows what kind they are?
  5. I've found a DeWalt 12 volt drill w/battery (charged) A BenchMade AutoStryker ($200 switch blade) $509.26 Two topless girls on the bank of the Cumberland. Arrowheads. Speaking of arrowheads, anyone know what kind I have.
  6. Ga. officer mistaken for coyote, fatally shot
  7. Let's say after having a "few" instead of getting pulled over, something happens along the way home and you end up using your weapon in self defense. You don't kill the guy, but he's paralyzed from the chest down. You tell the cop at the scene what happened and he smells alcohol on your breath. You've only had two so you agree to test and you blow .02. You don't get arrested, but it's in the report that you blew a .02. The guy sues you. This is not a criminal trial but a civil one. People have asked what is "under the unfluence"? It's what the other guy's lawyer convinces the jury it is. Any good lawyer can turn "drinking a few" into "drunk with a gun". You'll be paying his medical bills for life now.
  8. Here is some updated ballistic info on .380's http://www.brassfetcher.com/380ACP%20ammunition%20performance%20in%20ballistic%20gelatin.pdf
  9. I've been reading a lot about why not to carry hollow points in .380 and why FMJ is better, ect so I decided to test both types of ammo I had on hand, just to see. I used old catalogs. They are hard cover, like books. I was about 10 feet away. I loaded the rounds in the same mag and didn't move until all shots were fired. First up was the Golden Saber. The Hollow Point it made it to page 263. It expaned very nicely. The round looks like a little metal starfish. Next up was the Speer Lawman. It only made it to page 247. This confuses me as a lot of people on here say to carry FMJ and not hollow points because FMJ penetrates better. Not this time it didn't.
  10. That's a big NEGATIVE... But Congrats David...be safe!
  11. For Federal Income tax, if I fix your car and you babysit for me as payment, we own income tax on the fair market value. Tax Responsibilities of Bartering Participants Most people don't know that, I think.
  12. Congrats! What day did you apply/get fingerprinted? I'm trying to judge how long they are taking. I'm over a month now...
  13. I e mailed Lisa and got the whole "it takes 90 days blah blah blah."
  14. Thanks for the advise. I couldn't stand it anymore and e-mailed Lisa. We'll see what happens...LOL!
  15. Did the Dept of Safety contact you or did you have to figure this out on your own? What I mean is, did you have to call them? If you did, what day did you call (meaning day 30, or 31, ect?)
  16. Congrats! 37 days, not a record but not too bad. I'm only at 26 so I guess I cool it for a few more weeks...
  17. Hey, Today is my day 25 too. (not that I'm counting or anything.) DMV on March 15th and I was printed on the March 16th. Checked the mailbox...nada. Oh well, I guess I'm not one of the lucky ones. I think it may also depend on your county Sheriff office a lot too.
  18. I think the catch here is that the training certificate is only valid for six months. At least that's what mine says. Now, why the certificate is only valid for six months is another question. I don't know if that's the law but that would be the place to look.
  19. I've thought about this and wondered if anyone else has ever thought of just taking their slide and magazine with them instead of leaving a whole gun in the car? I mean, that way, no one else could use your gun and you're not carrying a gun, just gun parts (and ammo). I've never seen a no ammo or no gun parts sign. +1 on the deep concealment. You never know when a sign or beer might pop up. My luck they will put up the sign while I'm in mid-meal.
  20. Congrats! Now you just have to wait it out at the DMV and get printed and you're good to go!
  21. The $48 the finger print charge is part of the $115 you pay at the DMV. My process went quick and the girl who actually took my prints was very good looking, always an added bonus. It was only about a 60 mile round trip to the closest place. And of course it was closed after the DMV so I had to make that trip twice.
  22. I've found some Remington UMC at Wal Mart recently. Hopefully things are picking up.
  23. How would you go about doing a check on yourself? Can you just call them up, or do it online? I'm just curious...
  24. Took my HCP class this weekend. When to the DMV yesterday. They gave me paperwork for fingerprinting. The State is using digital fingerprinting now. The State has a contract with a company to do fingerprinting. You have to register with www.tennessee.cogentid.com You'll need some code numbers. After you register you'll need to find a place that actually does the fingerprinting. There aren't that many of them.
  25. It's six months. BTW you can't go to the sheriff's office for fingerprints anymore. The State has a contract and you have to go through www.tennessee.cogenid.com now. You register and find a place that does it. Not too many places.
