  1. So does this mean that if a creek runs through your property I can go swimming anytime I want? As long as you stay in the water or is there a 15 foot rule on either side? The reason I ask is there is a good swimming hole I know but the owner kicked everyone out. So from what you're saying, if we stay in the water the whole time, it's legal?
  2. They told us you need 70%. So 34 / 48 = .70 But 34 X 2 = 68 out of a possible 96 points. and 68 / 96 = .70 too so I guess it works out either way. Good Luck, I'm sure you'll do fine.
  3. Took my class today. Could that target be any bigger? I like the way we did it. Mil Arms in Ashland City. We loaded 5 rounds at a time. Shot 15 from the 3 yrd. 20 from the 7. At this point you only needed to hit 4 from the 15 to pass. Everyone passed. About 30 in the class. A lot of first time shooters. I never had any military hand gun training. M-16 was all I ever used.
  4. I'm taking mine tomorrow. Good call on this thread. If you shoot like that Sunday, you'll pass. You have the rest of your life to "tighten it up." I think you'll do fine. Good luck...
  5. I'm just wondering, is the range part of the HCP class timed? How long do they give you at each section? I know I'll have to reload to shoot 15 rounds. I'm just wondering if you can stand there and aim all day or what?
  6. Oh, what now?
  7. Wal Mart in Waverly had .45 ACP and .380 last week. They had 357 Sig and some other types too. I bought one box of Remington UMC .380 just because I've never shot any. It's ok. Allen's Gun Shop in Clarksville had several types of .380 in stock a few days ago. Call 'em. 931-552-3418
  8. Is "unprimed" brass the same as spent brass. In other words, new brass would not have a primer in it at all. Spent brass would have a "used" primer in it. Would you have to remove all the primers before mailing or are spent primers ok?
  9. I did a search but didn't find anything. Are there any rules about mailing spent brass? Can I just put it in a box and mail it like it was anything else or do I need to declare something to the USPS? Or does it have to go FedEx / UPS? Thanks.
  10. Allen's gun shop in Clarksville had a lot of .380 a few days ago. Speer Lawman, Magtech, and some other Hollow Points. I found some Remington UMC at WalMart in Waverly too. I've got a Ruger LCP and I've been able to find .380 regularly. Maybe I'm just lucky.
  11. Let's say instead of getting pulled over, something happens along the way and you end up using your weapon in self defense. You don't kill the guy, but he's paralyzed from the chest down. You tell the cop the same story at the scene and you blow the same .02. The guy sues you. This is not a criminal trial but a civil one. I've said this in another thread but it also applies here. What is "under the unfluence"? It's what the other guy's lawyer convinces the jury it is... Just something to think about...
  12. Rye's and Shine on Hwy 149 is posted. I'll take a pic in the morning and try to post it.
  13. So a guy with a HCP drives up to a convenience store. He notices the properly displayed “No Guns†signs and leaves his gun in the car. He goes into the store to purchase some beer to drink when he gets home. While at the beer cooler a BG enters the store and attempts to rob the place with a gun. The owner of the store, the one who posted the “No Guns†signs has a shotgun behind the counter. The only person in the store without a gun is the person with a permit. Does this seem wrong to anyone? This can't be right. Something has to change.
  14. Ok, So Obama T Shirts are out at the Gun Shop. How do we stand on Bill Clinton Boxers? Bill Clinton Boxer Shorts 3 - CafePress
  15. Let's say you tip back a few with your crab legs while leaving your gun in the car. On the way home something happens and you end up having to shoot someone. If they do a blood test, and they probably will, you will have alcohol in your system. You would be a lawyers dream. The best advice is don't drink at all if you carry period. You are just asking for trouble. What is "under the unfluence"? It's what the other guy's lawyer convinces the jury it is... You want to go down that road?
  16. Pre Recall Ruger LCP's which only came out less than 2 years ago will go off if dropped. Hence the recall. So if someone has one and didn't send it back to get fixed, it will go off. How many LCP's were sold VS how many were fixed? I bet there is a crap load out there....
  17. +1 Are you carrying to prove a point or to protect yourself? If you are carrying to prove some point then OC, get the cops called, get arrested, get a lawyer and go on Fox news. If you are carrying to protect yourself, then do that.
  18. NRA-ILA :: No right to bear unregistered machine guns, federal court says
  19. Natchez Shooters Supply in Chattanooga(Natchez Shooters Supplies) won't ship ammo or anything else to Tennessee. Has anyone gone there? Is this a retail store or online only? They have .380 ammo in stock but won't ship to three states, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
  20. Thanks for the replies. If you think Tennessee is not gun friendly, I have a friend in California you might want to talk to....LOL!
  21. I'm gonna ask this here because I don't see a better place. I'm new to guns and I'm wondering what are the rules for transporting fire arms? I'm talking about WITHOUT a permit. Do I have to keep the gun locked in the trunk? What if I don't have a trunk? What about ammo? Just keep it seperate? Is it ever ok to keep a loaded gun in a car? Thanks in advance....
  22. I'm new so be easy. I tried search with not much luck. After unloading a shotgun, or any gun for that matter, should I pull the trigger or just leave it? I know clearing an M16, pulling the trigger was part of the deal. But what does everyone else do? I've always heard dry firing was bad.
  23. Thanks for the welcomes. Put a few round throught the Cruiser yesterday. Didn't kick as bad as I thought, even with buckshot.
