  1. You might look into an SKS as well. Affordable guns(can be had anywhere from $250-400) and ammo is fairly inexpensive. Really fun guns to shoot. I bought my first a couple months ago and couldn't be happier.
  2. Not really a "stand" per say, but it is a target, and might give someone some ideas. Here is the .22 spinner style steel target I made a couple months ago.... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearm-accessories/47980-homemade-steel-targets-3.html
  3. I appreciate the offer, but that is quite a long trip for me. Depending on where at in NC, that's probably a good 3hr drive(one way) for me at least.
  4. Anyone who would seriously like to try to work out a trip this weekend, shoot me a PM. I need to go fishing! haha
  5. Sounds great! I am good for any time, so whatever dates work for you, I am game(as long as they are on the weekend). Just let me know.
  6. Yeah, I seen the white river "bugger" rods they had for $20 bucks, they probably weren't bad, but there was a big weight different between the Hobbs creek rod and the $20 "bugger" rods. Figured if I was gonna get something, I would go ahead and get what i really wanted(with the money I had to spend) rather than cheap out on the $20 rod.
  7. Yeah, That Redington Crosswater combo was what I had planned on getting if I bought one(You can get them from Gander Mtn. for $99.99), but since my gift cards were for Bass pro, I opted for the Hobbs Creek combo. Plus BPS didn't have the Redington combo I wanted.
  8. I am a newb to fly fishing in general, but I do know a few spots you can wade the clinch(if they aren't generating) and a few basic flies that are supposed to work, so if you would like to go one weekend, Let me know. I'm sure we could figure out something.
  9. Haha, I should've said, I didn't really need anything gun related from Bass Pro(can't buy a new gun with only $100 worth of gift cards...haha), and they don't really have many accesories that I could find that really interested me. And ammo is overpriced. For you guys that would like to go, It would have to be on the weekend since I work til 3:30 during the week(Mon-Fri). But if anyone would be up for going on a Saturday or Sunday, I would be all for it. Just let me know.
  10. So I got a couple Bass Pro gift cards for christmas, and since I wasn't really in need of anything shooting wise, I decided to purchase myself a fly fishing combo(BPS Hobbs Creek...8'6 6wt combo). I have been a few times with friends and really enjoyed it, and always wanted to get one. Anyways, Just throwing this out there if anyone would like to join me(aka teach me a thing or two) one day, I could use the company. Probably try to hit the clinch or Holston(below Cherokee) sometime to try out the new combo. So like I said, If anyone would like to join me one day, Let me know.
  11. Sorry....I had been watching the Star Wars marathon a few days ago....
  12. Ditto! Search your feelings young Padawan....for a 1911 you want.
  13. I had a good time too. Again, Was abit tight with everyone trying to get a few rounds off, but still a good time and no one got shot....so thats always good. Definitely was a nice day to be out finally. Good to see everyone again too.
  14. I'll probably try to get there around 9-10(ish). Look forward to meeting you! Just go by the Norris PD and pick up your key(and pay the $40) and your set until next July. I think I could mustar up enough sympathy for ya to help....
  15. If the weather holds true, Looks like Friday could be a pretty nice shooting day. Supposed to be cloudy, but warm(mid-50's). Hoping to make it down if nothing comes up.
  16. They sell them at the gun show(not sure when the next one is myself), your looking about .50 cents a piece. Not sure about local businesses.
  17. If I do go, It will be earlier during the day, won't be planning on staying til dark or anything. Also, Doesn't look like i'll be able to go this thursday, my boss just asked me if I would care to come in an answer the phones Thursday Morning til about noon(with OT pay of course since no one else will be here)....so I hated to turn that down.
  18. I think me and OhShoot are gonna try to get together at Norris next Friday(New Years Eve), provided we have decent weather. Just thought I would post it up in case anyone would like to join us. I am also thinking about trying to get down there this weekend(off work thursday-monday...obviously can't do it on Sat.) possibly if I can find some company, if anyone would like to join me...let me know.
  19. I do have to admit that I am not the confrontational type, if I can avoid something....I do. However the reason i'm asking these questions, again, are just out of curiousity. The main reason I thought about this stuff is not being scared of the liability aspect(legally), but more-so being able to live with myself knowing I made the right decision if I ever had to make that decisionv(heaven forbid). So like I said, I am just asking for OPINIONS(what else is there really when it comes to a questions like this?). I don't need judgement upon myself or everyone getting into a tizzy about who's opinion is right. Thanks to everyone who gave a legitament reply.
  20. Ok, So another instance.....your carrying your weapon, dude jumps on you trying to kick your butt or whatever(you don't draw the weapon), you try to retreat but the guy won't let you, so you try to fend him off...but he tries to(or better yet does) get your gun which he caught a glimpse of during the tussle? I guess stuff like this is one reason why I haven't gotten my HCP yet. I am not sure enough in myself to know that I would react in a situation appropriately. And I have read alot of threads like this on "reasonable justification", however no matter what someone tells you about their situation....How do you truly know?
  21. Ok, So by "in one piece", do you mean simply alive....or uninjured? Say in the scenario I mentioned, Dude starts running his mouth, you turn to walk away and he tries to grab you or jump on your back or something of what sort? What then? I want everyone to keep in mind that this is saying I'm gonna pull a gun on anyone who looks at me wrong or says a "stray" word to me, I'm just curious as to how you come to that decision of whats justified?
  22. So I got to thinking last night just out of boredom really. How far can someone take something before you would feel the need to pull your weapon? Granted I haven't even gotten my HCP yet, but just kinda curious. For instance, You were in some sort of place of business(store, restaurant, whatever)....something happens and here is some macho man trying to pick a fight with you for whatever reason(he thinks you were checking out his woman...lol). At what point does it go from "Some dude being an idiot" to "I feel I need to draw my weapon"....And it being reasonably justified? I mean if you just think "this guy is gonna take a swing at me"...is that enough, or what? I know that is probably a really broad question, and could vary depending on the circumstances and location probably, so feel free to through you own scenario(s) in there if need be.
  23. I'm sure I could've, however I knew I didn't have the green to back it up...lol. Hopefully sometime after the holidays.

    It's Here

I woke up this morning to probably at least 4-5 inches(being modest there too). Roads were crap, even the main road. The whole way to work, didn't see a single plow/salt truck...
  25. Mine too! I will have one of those guns one of these days! Very Nice! Congrats
