Prior to this case, being armed was not enough RAS for a Terry stop in GA. This had been previously upheld in the case of State vs Jones.

Who in Memphis has a good holster selection?   I just picked up a 4th production Colt Detective Special, and need decent off the shelf leather for it, until I have a chance to get it to my custom leather maker.   I am heading to Memphis on Friday, and won't have a chance to get one locally before leaving Atlanta.   If location helps, I will be staying off of Germantown Pkwy in Cordova.   Thanks,   Adam

Knowing my parents (in their 70's), they will want to go and get out early. I will just lock my Kahr in the car.

I have just become spoiled in GA, where I can carry and have a drink, and no gun signs don't carry legal weight.

I am heading "home" to Memphis next weekend for a visit and my parents are bound and determined to go to Blues City Cafe that Sat night and walk around Beale St. I have not been there since before I started carrying about 8 years ago, and I have heard that they now block up Beale St and set up metal detectors on weekend evenings.    Can I get away with carrying there, or should I leave it in the car (I hate leaving it in my car almost as much as not carrying)?   Thanks,   Adam    

I have about 300 round sthrough my Gen4 G17 and love it. so far its been just as reliable as any other Glock that I have fired. I am starting to get used to a Glock trigger again after not having one for a few years. I'm going to instal a 3.5# trigger connector and give the internals a slight polish soon to lighten things up a little. It will primarilly be for GSSF and IPSC use, not a carry gun.

I've been a member here for a while and just lurked and brushed up on TN carry information. I made my first few posts today and thought that I would checkin and say hi. I grew up in Memphis and lived in Knoxville for two years before finding my way to Cumming, GA (about 40 miles North of Atlanta). I carry just about everywhere that I legally can and am an active member of GeorgiaCarry.org.

I don't live in TN, but OC on a fairly regular basis in Metro Atlanta. I live in a conservative county about 40 miles Noth of Atlanta proper and very few people really care. Our Sheriff's Dept has a policy that if they get a MWAG call, to not respond unless the person making the call was reporting an actual crime involving the MWAG or shots were fired. Once I was approached by a Forsyth County Sheriff Deputy. I was thinking "OK, here it comes", but just wanted to know where I got the nice leather holster that I had my Walther PPKs in. When I go home to Memphis I always conceal. I have concerns about officers that may not realise that TN honors my GFL, and that I may forget to check building entrances for signs, since signs carry no legal weight in GA, but they do on TN. Besides, some of my family members don't support the second amendment as strongly as I do. Although, because of me, my father has gotten his TN permit and one of my brothers is taking his class in a few weeks.

When I go to Memphis next week, I'll be spending an afternoon picking up my fathers "new to him" boat in Florence AL. We'll be running up the TN river from there to Pickwick Lake in Counce TN. We'll be passing through AL, MS and TN. I am familiar with the carry laws in the three states, but I have one question. I have been told that there one river lock that we will be going through. I'm assuming th elock is owned and run by the COE. Can I carry through the lock? If I unload my pistol and put it in a locked compartment do I fall under Federal Interstate Tranportation laws?
