  1. I've been carrying OWB the last few days around the house to get a feel for it... So far it's very comfortable and conceals well with an untucked button down shirt. Not to mention, I can tighten my belt to where it's supposed to be I'd try it outside the house if I could find some 40 S&W to load it. Ammo is pretty scarce in Knoxville at the moment it appears. Unless I want to pay $20+ per box at the local range.
  2. Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like I'll be giving OWB a run to see how it goes. From all the responses, it seems that everything will be just fine!
  3. I've been doing IWB carry while alternating my 1911 and G19 for about 4 years now. Although, I'm comfortable with IWB, is OWB is more comfortable day to day? The only reason I ask is because I just recently purchased a Sig p239 .40 that included a Kirkpatrick OWB holster. I want the Sig to be my EDC, but not sure if OWB is the way to go yet. Should I just get another IWB holster to carry since I'm used to it, or give OWB a chance and see how well it works? I wear untucked button down shirts every day (work or otherwise) to cover my EDC. So, dress shouldn't be an issue.
  4. I had to have my picture taken again for the renewal. Just like every time you renew your DL. BTW... renewed on 3/10/09 and received new one on 6/13/09. So the full 90 days is pretty much standard.
  5. Renewed mine at TN DOS on 3/10/09 and still waiting... But I have my receipt, so all is good.
  6. I renewed one month before expiration, so I guess everything is fine. Thanks for all the replies.
  7. I've been told my numerous people and the TN DOS that my original HCP and receipt of renewal will be sufficient enough to allow legal carry until my official renewal license arrives. While looking at the State DOS site regarding renewals, this does not appear to be the case. The wording refers to expired... Does that mean expired by date of expiration on the HCP or expired as in six months from HCP expiration? It just does not seem clear to me. This is important because I'm one month past HCP expiration, but still five months from the six month "do it all over again" expiration. Does anyone have any insight or experience with this that could shed some light?
  8. Sorry... QFT=short for quoted for truth!
  9. I have two holsters from Gary Brommeland. They're comfortable and conceal my EDC very well.
  10. My job is internet related and I do my best to stay out of all lists... Usually it's email related, so I can use temporary addresses if I need to. Sucks that opting for legal CCW years ago to protect my family and myself put me on a list without my approval. No email address needed for this one. So I can't even thwarte it!
  11. Well, I'd really like another 1911 and also have my eyes on the Sig 239.
  12. My HCP is up for renewal in May 09. Anyone know how far in advance renewals are possible? I thought it was 6 months, but have not verified. I've been thinking about renewing early and wonder if others are doing the same.
  13. I personally don't go the the mall often, but do make it a point to look for postings at every business that I enter. Never seen one at West Town. So, I don't hesitate to carry when I have to be there.
