  1. Spectators have died at the TT. Wiki has a list of all fatalities from first year last year. I think only one actual racer died last year. There are times set aside for regular Joe's to ride the course and I think there was one fatality during that last year. It's almost time for TT 2016 and it's gonna be awesome. Records were set last year and this year will be faster. Go Anstey and Guy Martin.
  2. I got the tools. They will be here today. I also bought a Milwaukee 3/8 bit to drill the hole in the engine alignment bar. All I need now is a drill press. I wish I could change the title because I'm way beyond the bearing puller now. I think a shop would charge too much and the turnover would be a week or more. Just for one hole.
  3. Forgot to mention that they state in the listing the hole must be drilled into the alignment tool so that the bearing installation tool can be secured to it.
  4. I'm thinking about buying this item 271644541471 on eBay but I don't have a way drill into steel. I guess a drill press and a decent bit would do it. The guy said it's mild steel. I can't imagine it would take but a few minutes. Is there anyone out there in the Knoxville area who could help me with this? Let me know if the link does not work. If the link is against policy, please just delete. Thanks http://m.ebay.com/itm/271644541471
  5. My new best friend..... Do you have the gimbal bearing and gimbal seal installation pieces too? Kind of long shot but. Hey, are you part of the VolNavy?
  6. O'Reillys had the puller. Free rental with deposit for tool cost. Refunded upon return. Can't beat it.
  7. I thought about that, and advance, but I'm looking for one with "fingers" that pull the bearing. Most auto bearing pullers seem to have backing plates and I don't have access to the back side of the bearing. I will check into that but I just figured somebody on here has just what I need and TGO is all about helping each other out. I don't want to buy the tool because I'd use it once every few years.
  8. Anybody in the Knoxville or surrounding area have a slide hammer bearing puller I can borrow for a day? I need to get a gimbal bearing out of a merc alpha one drive. I would, of course, drive to pick up and I can leave a deposit. Thanks!
  9. We are buying a house in the early summer. Garage size will be a major factor. I need a workbench.
  10. It definitely does.... Hours of being captain, towing three miles to the ramp, maintenance and cleaning, etc. But, I enjoy it all. She's not into purses or shoes anyway.
  11. No space in the garage. Barely enough for the boat and bike. It's a converted carport. I'd definitely rather be in my old garage. True about the drive oil smell, it's odd and does hang around but she just told me she can't smell it. I get the soiled paper towels and rags out the house asap.
  12. Women who are totally cool with mechanical things goin on in the kitchen. Rebuilding an alpha drive in the warmth as opposed to the cold garage. Rebuilt the carb last week at the kitchen table (house smelled like gas but only a little because I pre cleaned with gun solvent). She does love being on the boat and I'm cheap labor but she'd let me do it anytime. I have a Yamaha R1 and it was in the kitchen having a little maintenance not too long ago. She's about the best a guy could ask for.
  13. He hired SRV to tour and record with him for a little while. Stevie is playing guitar in "let's dance" but any SRV fan would already know that. Didn't care for much of his music but he had fantastic taste in guitarists.
  14. Every goober with a keyboard? Where? How many goobers? People outing him on other forums? Simple Google search. Not classified info. His name was put on this website (he's a member) and you act like the guy posted it in the NYT. I'm sure his name showing up in this thread will cause Hickok all sorts of headaches.
