  1. I actually had some information about the officer but didn't feel like posting because this thread went full retard.
  2. Yep. We went hiking yesterday bear Tremont and the water was freezing but refreshing. I was really tempted to get all the way in.
  3.   Excellent points. I may just keep carrying this one to work since it's already damaged but I'll probably still buy another knife....just because.
  4. Honestly it doesn't get used a ton but I want something that will hold up if I do need it. If was broken while in the process of repairing an air line.
  5. The only thing that bothered me was that the officer didn't even clear the  gun before sticking it in his back pocket which could have easily ended badly.   My friend works for LCPD so I'm going to send it to him and ask what he thinks. And yes, this was Lenoir City PD, not Loudon County.
  6. I recently started a new job in Knoxville where I'm out in a warehouse all day and I need a blade that can take a bit more abuse than my Spyderco Sage 3.   I loaned it to another manager Thursday and he snapped the tip off somehow. I'm assuming he was using it as a screwdriver.   I was looking at the Mini Griptilian by Benchmade but I'm open to other suggestions. Price range would be $100 or less.
  7.   this is a great idea but if he's wanting to avoid snow he'd have to go pretty early in the season.
  8. God I'm glad to be back. TN is so beautiful.
  9. For the vast majority of people the G43 IS NOT a pocket gun.
  10. Thats a very, very nice truck.congrats. I recently priced out the truck I want and the monthly payment would be almost as much as my mortgage. New trucks are insanely expensive right now. Needless to say I'll be driving my hail damaged Corolla for the foreseeable future.
  11. Congrats Neil. I'm starting to realize that things seem to always find a way of working themselves out. I had almost given up on the job search in Knoxville until I got my transfer.
  12.   Keep in mind a lot of land is for sale by owner so it may not be found via any internet searches. I think you really need to just get out there and hit the back roads(as time allows). Yesterday we did a hike in Rhea County near Spring City. It was only 80 minutes from West Knoxville and it got really rural really fast. I've lived here most of my life and had never heard of Spring City until earlier this week when I found the hike. Yet it's only 60 miles from Knoxville.   Pull up google maps and start figuring out what area might make the most sense. As someone also mentioned earlier, Land Watch.org is a great website.
  13.   I don't know if Blount county is far enough away from the populace..?
  14. I have one and I'm ordering 2 more. Thanks for posting.
  15. Thanks everyone. He'll be guarding a drone launch site so there is no telling how it's going to be. Hopefully he'll be bored but safe.
  16. Words can't describe how proud I am of my older brother. I get misty eyed just thinking about it.   My brother has been through hell and back while in the Army. Just 48 hours after enlisting in the FL National Guard he was told he would be going on a 9-10 month deployment to Africa. During his 2nd tour in Iraq his Humvee drove over an IED and he was the only one in the vehicle to survive. Despite that, he recently decided to serve our country again my joining the guard.   He was supposed to be my best man at my wedding in October but won't be able to join. I'm just proud to call him my brother and I wanted to share.   http://www.baynews9.com/content/news/baynews9/news/article.html/content/news/articles/bn9/2015/7/23/soldier_deployment_f.html#.VbF7VPLGlQI.mailto
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if that one guy is reprimanded for carrying.
  18. Well, we made it without blowing up. Hooray!
  19. It's hard to believe there are Marines that don't have weapon training.
  20.   The FBI built a pretty massive office right off Middlebrook Pike a few years ago. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few people there.
  21.   I just read he/she was in stable condition. I hope that is the case.
  22. Just be careful when figuring out what your house is going to sell for. We are in the process of selling our house in FL and we lost $13,000 at appraisal.    We listed for $158K. A buyer offered $160K. The appraiser said the house is only worth $147K.   We got royally boned. The appraisal made no sense and her comps were ridiculous. Our realtor tried everything she could to reason with the lady but she wouldn't budge.   We will barely get back the money we sunk into the house.
  23. I can hear Obama now "this was an isolated incident of workplace violence". Nothing to see here..     I hope everyone is ok. They are not giving out any facts just yet it seems.
  24. I'm more excited about the spin-off honestly. I've always wanted to know what lead up to the "main event"
