  1. You're way over thinking this.   So long as the gun was purchased legally, what difference does it make? There is no registration in TN and most other states.
  2. Once they become pitted aren't the plates dangerous? Or does it depend on how they are angled?   A few months ago a friend of mine was shooting his M&P Shield at steel when a round came back and hit him in the ribs. He was driven by ambulance to the hospital and still has a piece of whatever hit him under his rib.    They never did determine for sure why the round came back at him. He said the steel plate was well used and not perfectly smooth.
  3. No worries here.
  4. This is awesome! Thank you!
  5.   Dave,   In my first post I said "I don't think the office did anything wrong".  Why is that hard for you guys to understand? I even went on to say that the department many not even issue tasers since they can't even afford dashcams.   You guys coming after me makes about as much sense as the NRA attacking the GOA. We're in the same boat here.
  6. I wonder if this is a national sale or just local. Dicks just opened a new store near my house.
  7.   Can you not read? I said twice I didn't think the officer did anything wrong. From what we know so far it looks like a clean shot.   How am I passing judgement? You need to relax and focus on the people who actually ARE attacking the cop.
  8.   Don't hold your breath. He likes to attack without facts.

    Glock 19

For me, the subcompact 26 and 27 are the least ergonomic models they have. They take the term "holding a 2x4" to a new level.   Plus, you don't gain much in terms of concealment.

    Glock 19

    I had 2 different G26's. I hated both.   I now have 2 G19's and carry one daily.
  11.   Just stop. You're being ridiculous and trying to put words in my mouth. You do it here constantly and it's getting old.
  12.   I'm laughing my ass off here at my county. A $658K mine resistant vehicle for a county with no major cities. The biggest town is 40K people.   Killing me.   FL LAKE                      2355-01-553-4634 MINE RESISTANT VEHICLE 1 Each $658,000.00 9/13/2013 0:00 FL LAKE                      2355-DS-COM-BTV2 ONLY COMPLETE COMBAT/ASSAULT/TACTICAL WHEELED VEHICLES 1 Each $138,000.00 6/14/2010 0:00
  13.   For once I agree with everything you said Dave. Well put.
  14.   Good grief man. Why do you always go from zero to 60 so fast? Take a breath. Even the police stated the dead guy was 30 feet from the cruiser.   Again, I'm not saying he did anything wrong.
  15.   Well, to be fair, the guy was 30 feet away from him at one point. He could have drawn a taser. That being said, this department doesn't have dashcams, they may not even have tasers.   Also, I'm not saying the cop did anything wrong.
  16. Congrats on the G21. I have the same one and enjoy shooting it. When I bought it last November I couldn't wait to go to the range so I grabbed an old pumpkin and went out to the orange groves near me...45 vs a pumpkin is quite fun.
  17.   This is good advice.   You may be making this more difficult than it needs to be. Don't think about it, just do it.   I took an entire defensive pistol class with both eyes open. My fiance and I had almost zero experience with this and we both did great. Just point and shoot. Of course that was slightly different because we were not even using the sights and we were not attempting to have a great group.   That's really how you should practice as it's the most practical.
  18. If done properly I would think it would last at least years if stored in a cool dry place.
  19. Good on you for handling the situation well and having your family prepared for that situation as well. Preparation is key. We had a situation that was a lot less serious but still scary last year.   UPS knocked on my door around 9pm one night. When I got to the door they were gone and all I could see was the outline of what I thought was a person through the peep hole.   Long story short, I was convinced someone was on the other side but it turned out to only be the wreath my fiance had on the door.
  20. Here is a live feed to the situation in Ferguson.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3IvCejX9Q8
  21. Apparently they didn't listen to their customers enough to remove that stupid manual safety.   I'll pass on this one.
  22.   This.   You need an option in the poll that says "Don't live in the ghetto".
  23. For our Toyota Rav4 they recommend using conventional oil and changing it every 5K. I asked if I should go to synthetic and they said no.    I'm not sure what to do      Our Carolla has 150K and I do regular oil every 3K miles.
  24. I hate to say it but it really depends on the part of town the wal-mart is in.   I live in a smaller town outside Orlando and I'm on a first name basis with the sporting goods clerks. Both are good guys.   When I attempt to buy ammo at the urban store near my work the results are always horrible.
  25. Neil, call Speer and they will make it right. I've talked to their customer service before and they are solid.   In fact, they will probably appreciate hearing about it for QC reasons.
