  1. We have a 5 year old Siberian Husky. She's a fantastic dog. We also have a 9 month old mutt. He definitely has Belgian Malinois in him but we're not sure what else. He's a pretty good dog with the exception of his chewing. He's destroyed half the living room it seems.
  2. That's beautiful. What county is the property in?
  3. Damn this is tempting. I've been wanting another AR for a while now. Unfortunately I have a wedding to pay for.
  4. Ahhh. It all makes sense now.   Many months back I was at my local Wal-Mart and as I walked up to the register at the sporting goods section I noticed the same sign that someone had placed right in front of the register. I was really confused considering there were AR-15's 5 feet behind the sign.
  5. I like it.
  6. So apparently it wasn't a bulletproof vest but rather an old flak jacket.   What an idiot.   http://bearingarms.com/woman-jailed-killing-man-asked-shot/
  7. How does one miss the vest yet hit the chest? The Chest is about only place the vest covers.
  8.   17% a year is scary. I've noticed some calibers have increased even more. Take .38 spcl for example. Before the crunch I was buying .38 for $13-15 a box. That same ammo is now $21-22 at Wal-Mart. That's a 50-60% increase. That's the reason I haven't shot my LCR in almost a year.   Then look at .40S&W- I have a 100/rd box of Federal I purchased in early 2012 for $25. That same box of ammo today is $36. That's around a 40% increase.   And perhaps the most troubling- in just 10 years 9mm has increased almost 240% WWB 9mm was $5-6 in 2005. Hell, just a few years ago 9mm was $10/box. I can't find it now for under $13-14 unless you want TulAmmo.   My guess is that at some point ammo will become so expensive that demand will drop dramatically. I hope at that point prices go down some.
  9. While that is certainly beautiful Greg may want to check before booking a trip there. A good portion of the Phillipines was destroyed by by that typhoon a few months back. I'm not sure how much has been rebuilt.
  10. Very sorry to hear DrAlarms. I'll be thinking about your family.
  11.   Alright, so humor me. Does anything happen in books 7-8? Number 8 is called The War, does it end there?
  12. Yup, 9mm and .45 is still cheapest at Wally World but other calibers are not. 5.56 is typically .50/rd too whereas I can find it online for .35-.38 it seems.
  13.   You've lost me with your first sentence. I read these books mainly for entertainment but also for knowledge. I'm just saying the series has definitely lacked much action. I keep waiting for something to happen but the author continues to drag it out to the point I think I will spend my money on other books.
  14. I've lost interest in the 299 Days series. I just finished the 6th book I believe. These books provide very little value when you look at the pages and the price. At this point I think the author is just trying to drag it out of fatten his pockets. On top of that, it's boring.   6 books in and nothing has happned. Seriously, nothing. They killed one meth head and bugged out to a cabin. Whopped-dee-do. :snore:   The Holding Their Own series is leaps and bounds ahead of this.
  15. If someone is in my home then chances are I'm going to shoot at them. When was the last time a homeowner was charged with shooting an intruder(in a non-communist state)? I've seen numerous stories where the homeowner wasn't charged even though the perp was unarmed.   I really don't think it's going to make a difference if you shoot someone in the back. That person could turn around in .02 seconds and shoot you.
  16.     I'm 5'9" and weigh 130lbs. I'm about as small a guy as it gets. If I can conceal the 19 all year long in Florida anybody can.  Crossbreed Supertuck and a T shirt-no one ever knows. About 80% of the time I carry OWB in a comp-tac paddle holster and still hide it decently.
  17.   That makes me sick- but having spent a lot of time in Campbell county it does not surprise me. Your friend needs to get a lawyer and fight this. Something tells me he will need one in order to get his gun back.
  18. Wait till you get a 19- you'll sell your 26 and carry the 19 instead.   Ask me how I know!
  19.   ....and they hide their .22LR behind the counter and only sell it to friends.
  20. I love my LCR. Fantastic trigger, comfortable grips, great gun.
  21.   Well, I don't imagine this guy knew the exact hour or time these kids were going to show up. I'm not going to speculate his mental state. I see your point though.   I would imagine I'd still be scared if someone was breaking into my home even if I suspected they might show up.
  22. Question- let's say he didn't "execute" them but he did wait in his house for them knowing they would arrive. Is that still a crime?   If my house was broken into several times you bet your ass I'd be trying to catch these people in the act. If that involves them dying, so be it. Where this guy crossed the line is by murdering them when they were down and not calling the cops.
  23.   There are a lot of uninformed or poor folks that carry Taurus and Hipoints. I would postulate that the cheaper guns are probably used in more crimes than any others.
  24.   I call bullcrap on the ones in bold. How is the Glock 19 not on this list?   I don't know of anyone carrying a Rhino or even a Glock 30 for that matter.
