I love my Gen4 21 but I've yet to try and carry it.   The Springfield XDS is really slick. If i wanted a small .45 that would be the way I'd go. Also, the XDM .45 compact is fantastic! I was really surprised how much I like it.

This is something I have preached to my girlfriend over and over. We don't open the door for anyone.   But stupid me, breaking my own rule. 20 minutes ago I had just finished dinner and was in the process of unloading the dishwasher when I got a knock on the door. My GF has this ridiculous Christmas sign on the front door that was covering the peep hole so I couldn't see anyone.   It's dark out already and I turned on the porch light which is a pretty good one. As soon as I turn on the light I hear a woman's voice. "heelloooo".   For some reason I will never know I opened the door.I initially thought it was one of my GF's friends stopping by unexpectedly. It sounded like her but in hindsight I should have asked who it was. Anyways, on my porch is a well dressed young hispanic woman. I was holding my Ruger LCR out of sight behind the door and my 2 dogs were at my feet trying to catch a peek. She was holding a 3 pack of Clorox wipes. Her story was that her boss just opened a new store in town that sold cleaning products for floors. (Since when to people use clorox wipes on floors)?   About that time I noticed the outline of a male standing at the end of my sidewalk just in the shadows where my porch light doesn't reach.   She claimed that her boss paid her just to talk to people and that I didn't have to buy anything if I let them inside to discuss it. She claimed that she got paid just for going into the home to talk to someone. Starting to sound suspicious yet?   I cut her off a few minutes after that and told her it wasn't a good time. She was well dressed, friendly and non-threatening but the entire thing seems suspicious.    1)who gets paid just for going inside someones house? How would her boss know how many she visits? 2) why was the man hiding in the shadows where I couldn't see him? 3)why are they coming after dark?   It was enough to make me call the non emergency number for the county sheriff and the dispatcher seemed to agree it sounded suspicious.    To me- it seemed like a ploy to get inside someones house to see what they have. Maybe her intentions were harmless but I can't help think this could have ended badly for me. Next time I will ignore the knocks.

  Just curious- aside from the patriot act, what are you basing this on?   I wasn't nearly as involved in politics at the time so I'm just asking. Between Fast and Furious, Benghazi, NSA Spying, Obamacare and everything else it's hard to imagine Bush was just as bad.

I've been there several times and I took my HCP class there. In 2010 it seemed like they had a great selection and normal prices. When I went back in 2011 it seemed like something had changed. They had probably 50% less guns in stock and the mood seemed totally different. Good people though. Hope they make it.

  I'm going to have to disagree. Very few permit holders actually carry on a regular basis. I'd say 15-20% at most.

  It's only a few places and likely won't take longer than a few hours to fix....so yes, I want to fix it.   Overall, the car still looks respectable despite the damage so I'd like to keep it that way.

My GF's 2002 Carolla was destroyed by the hail storm that hit Knoxville 2 years ago. We were able to buy it back from the insurance company for almost nothing but the hail did a lot of damage.   Long story short- some of the hail left such a nasy dent that it actually stripped off the paint. 2 years later I'm noticing some of these places are starting to rust, especially on the roof and trunk.     I know rust is like a cancer and will continue to get worse unless I do something. What is the best course of action to stop the rust? I'm not concearned about appearances.     thanks,

  Did you mean AWB?  Also, I wasn't aware that he supported the background checks. I was thinking about this the other day. Republicans who don't support the 2nd amendment scare me more than the democrats that attack it. Think about it, there are many Rhinos out there that only voted against it a few months back to piss off Obama. If Romney was in the White House and decided to pass additional gun control I firmly believe he would have support from some of the repubs in congress.

We've certainly had worse presidents. I honestly believe W loved this country. Can't say the same for the current dictator occupying the white house.

  They know that they could release a pink pellet gun and sell millions so I really don't think they care. Still disappointing though.
