  1. I'm a big fan of both H&K & SIG, but if you're going to consider carry at all, I would highly suggest looking at a SIG P229 over the MK25 or a USP Compact over the full size. If just want a range toy then I suggest trying them out if possible & choose the one that feels best. All of these are exceptional quality.

  2. Donate her gun to keep children safe. Good thing, too. After all, it's not like there's a metal object you can purchase to lock it in to keep children "safe"! Obviously didn't get where she is by using her brains. I'd be willing to bet she never shot it & probably doesn't even know how to load it. :dunno:

    I would start here :)

    Soooooo, what you got ?

It's a little out of the norm. It's a Swiss Absinthe, bottled in 2005. It's an authentic Suisse La Bleue "Clandestine" & I've had it since 2006. This is it... https://www.alandia.de/absinthe-la-bleue-clandestine.html Only 1,000 bottles were produced each of the first two years, but the 2005 batch isn't numbered like the 2004 1st batch.

Here's a photo of the actual bottle...

  4. Here are some items I'm giving away as a lot. This will be a fun package for someone. Just send me a PM along with your mailing info & it's yours.

  5. I could be wrong, but I'm going to venture a guess that the striker spring or recoil spring may have to be upgraded to a slightly heavier weight. That's a common issue when you get a pistol with a wonderful light trigger & easy to rack slide. Sometimes it sacrifices a certain amount of reliability (light strikes or not going into battery). It's a balance of give & take. Either way, it's an intriguing pistol & I hope they work out the bugs quickly.

  6. The past few years people don't seem to be happy unless they're miserable. They expect a trophy for getting out of bed in the morning & if they don't get it, they're gonna' hold a march to protest whatever "thing" someone on social media said they have to be upset about. It seemed to have started right around 2008 & progressively got worse over the next eight years. If you walk down the street without wearing a "MLK" or "black lives matter" shirt, you're being racist. If you don't "friend" someone online, you're being insensitive. If you're not "politically correct" enough, you're being offensive. What the hell is wrong with America these days?!

The stoeger brand using the exact same parts.

+1. Unfortunately, the Stoeger Cougar has been discontinued just like the older Beretta version & parts are no longer being produced. Numrich, Brownell's, & a few other have limited parts available, but mags are getting really hard to locate. I picked up some all metal guide rod/recoil assemblies (before they switched to plastic guide rods), D springs, trigger springs, etc. for mine a few years ago for my parts box. I'll probably never shoot them enough to have to replace those parts, but it's better to have extras than not.

    Extra mags are a must.....:D

  8. I've owned several Beretta Cougars in 9 mm, .40, .45 & currently have a full size 8045 & 8000 Mini. The 8045 is my main choice for carry. I've never had a failure from any of them & they're all very smooth shooters. Parts are starting to dry up for the Cougar series, but they're extremely easy to work on & modify. Depending on the specific trade I wouldn't hesitate a minute to grab one. My only advice is to make sure you only use Beretta brand mags unless you want an expensive paper weight. Keep us informed & be sure to post some pics if you grab it.

  9. A few years ago I picked up this nickel plated model 83 for my wife. We love the look & feel of it & it has a nice heft, which helps a lot with the .380's snappiness. We haven't put many rounds through it at all so I can't speak either way of it's reliability, but they're easy to work on & you can replace every spring & most parts for a few dollars.

  10. I just finished a set of solar filters for my binoculars. My wife teaches high school special ed & is going to take them with her Monday for the class to use. I have a bunch of left over solar material I bought before the Venus transit a few years ago so I picked up some plumbing fittings & let my inner nerd flow. The look funny, but work really well. We're supposed to have .99 magnitude here so it looks like I won't get to witness or photograph the corona, but hopefully the weather will be clear enough to still see a good show.

  11. ... & stumbled across another gen. 2 olive drab/black Ruger SR9 in really nice condition. These had blackened stainless steel slides & were only made for a couple years in limited numbers. A couple days ago I installed a 3.5 lb. Ghost trigger reset bar & now the trigger is really sweet! Now I just need to get rid of the 10 rnd. communist magazines that came with it & pick up some 17 rounders.

Dave and I are in agreement on this. Read into that what you will.  I really don't like how the new classifieds dual thread thing works. It's cluttered, confusing, and wholly unnecessary.

+1. The new style of classifieds seems to make more confusion than it should. I like the style of the advert threads, but like "Chucktshoes" said, the whole dual thread thing is a mess.
