  1. @hlb14 Did you make the Saturday race?  Rain delay wasn't bad, at least they got it in.  (Curious how Xfinity series even survives... place was empty.  You could've parked at the track.)  Went up there this morning hoping for a miracle but by noon, they postponed it.  Amazing how many people still hang out at the Jack Daniels tent even though there's no race, but seeing the girls that are serving the drinks, I completely understand   Oh well, 4 months til the night race.

  2. I'll be there for both the Sat & Sun races.  Haven't been wanded.  They just check bags to see what your bringing in.  Not really a bad place to sit, though from past experience I'd avoid being in row 1 or 2 anywhere around the track as your visibility of the cars is limited.  I always park on Exide Dr.  There's a parking lot on the left just before you get to 11E (on the right is the campground) It's $20 to park (free if you're driving a Toyota) and a short walk to the track.  Google map below.  You can see where I put the pin drop on Exide Dr.  GPS coordinates should you care to use them.  Bring lots of cash... food & drinks are expensive! Just my humble opinion but I recommend buy/rent the headphones with Racing Scanner (they'll have a booth there). You can listen to in car audio of all drivers.  Have fun and maybe I'll run into you two.

Just so you guys know, I have ZERO control over the chat feature.  It is 100% hosted with IPB.  Also, they are planning to retire it entirely at the end of March, so...  sorry.

So it's April 4th and chat is still working. Are we on borrowed time?

  4. I thought it was predictable & lame.  Was hoping Carl would get the bat.  No cliff hanger going into October.  So there's gonna be a war....kinda figured that

Oh well.... next Monday it's back to "Better Call Saul"

I grew up mowing and just like to do it. I like machines of all sorts and mowing is relaxing to me. You are looking at probably $250-400 per mow to do 5-6 acres depending where you are. That pays back quicker than most realize.

If you have 1/4 acre, ok, but at that point you might as well buy a condo with no lawn.

I understand what you're saying.  I know some people love their machines.  I know people that buy a $10k Polaris just to cruise around their property.  Too each their own.... my 8 year old Bolens rider is still going and is perfect for my acre.  And if I had a lawn care service, I'd probably buy a Bad Boy or similar mower.  Years ago in Illinois I had a New Holland mower with a hydrostatic transmission.  Was nice until the transmission died and it was gonna cost $2k to fix it.

That's quite a bit. I can tell you without a doubt that i would want a commercial for that much. I have a John Deere z950m that I think is perfect. Got it for $9900 out the door. Well worth the extra 4K. Better built and you can mow much faster. If you aren't limited to 5k, I highly recommend going for the commercial series. John Deere or Exmark for me. JD will mow better if you ever mow damp or wet grass. The Exmarks are too tightly baffled for wet grass.

IMHO, for $9900, I'll just hire some Mexicans to cut my lawn until I'm old enough to move into a retirement home. :P

I've only had to go to the one in Harriman so far, so maybe that's why, but OMG you folks have NO idea!

Coming from NY, the DMV down here is a downright PLEASURE to do business with!

The people speak ENGLISH! There's no urine on the floor! Processes are simple, fee's reasonable, paperwork is NOT written in 22 other languages, you don't feel like an international traveller in the waiting area, and you'll be spoken to politely and with respect!

Never once had that experience in NY, you've really got it great down here, trust me!

  What part of NY?  I never experienced anything like that.  In & out in no time.  They're definitely by the book but I didn't experience rudeness or urine on the floor.  (Then again, that might be normal in the lower Hudson valley and the 5 boroughs :P )

FWIW Sevier County is terrific.  I made the fatal mistake of going to Straw Plains once.... never again :wall:

At my age, every time I renew, I think it is probably a lifetime renewal.

Since none of us know when our expiration date is (no matter what age we are), I also consider everything a lifetime renewal.  But I'm not getting a lifetime HCP...if I wanted a lifetime commitment, I'd get married :P

To quote a famous politician " At this point what difference does it make." We owe 20 trillion thanks to Obama. The ship is going down no matter what Trump does.

    but then.....

When Trumps debt increases exceed Obamas, I will get concerned. Until then, I am on the Trump train and enjoying the ride.

For some reason, the Titanic comes to mind......

So when the deficit goes up 8 trillion during his tenure, then you'll get concerned?  I will too because in 2020, it'll be a clean sweep by the Dems.  Hello single payer and tax increases.  Better hope we have a 5-4 or 6-3 SCOTUS majority to stop the impending assault on the Constitution.
